Jamari’s POV

What is wrong with me? Drooling over a demon that may very well be here to take my soul. I look into the man’s beautiful galaxy eyes and wonder if giving my soul to this man would really be all that bad. He is absolutely gorgeous, I sigh dreamily.

I glance back over at the woman with the beautiful cocoa skin, that she showed a lot of, and think again about their relationship. A stab of jealousy courses through me when I think about them being a couple, even though they already denied it. What is she to him if not a lover?

Shaking myself from my thoughts I wonder if I should tell the pair what I had learned from my sister. My intuition was telling me I could trust them, but still I hesitate. They were both demons afterall, and Samara told me it was the Demon King who attacked and killed her.

I sat there quitely weighing the pros and cons of telling them about their King and was grateful that they gave me the quiet I needed to think. After a few moments I decided to fill them in on what I was told. I would of course leave out the parts about the key and Samara telling me that I am special. What’s the worst that could happen right?

I watched the surprise appear on their faces when I mentioned that it was the Demon King that had lured my sister to her death. Anxiety wracks me, resulting in my heartbeat to begin to speed up.

They both look at each other, clearly talking through a mind link. I didn’t even know that demons could speak through mind links like wolves.

My anxiety spikes when they continue talking for what seems like foreve,r but was probably only a few minutes. What if they reported back to their King what I had just told them? I begin to nervously fidget with my fingers in my lap, biting my bottom lip with my teeth.

Suddenly I feel eyes on me and glance up to see both of them staring at me. Squaring my shoulders I decide to face them bravely. “I understand that he must be your King and you would feel loyalty towards him, but I implore you to please not tell him that you ran into me.” I plead with them.

The man’s eyes grow big in surprise and I notice the woman trying to hide a chuckle. I frown,  wondering why they would react that way. I choose not to say anything though for fear of them summoning their King.

I feel the man’s eyes on me, studying me intensely. I attempt to hide my blush behind my hair but know I failed when I hear his slight chuckle.  After a few tense moments the man finally speaks. “Are you sure she said the man was the Demon King?”

I thought back to my conversation with my sister, a thoughtful look appearing on my face. I glance back up to the man and shake my head in the affirmative. “Yes, I am sure that she said the man introduced himself as the Demon King. Do you know him?”

Levi’s POV

‘Levi, you didn’t kill Jamari’s sister did you?’ Ruth asks me quietly through our mind link.

‘So you’re addressing the human by her name.’ I reply, raising an eyebrow in question. Ruth rolls her eyes but doesn’t respond. I sigh to myself. ‘I most definitely did not kill her sister. I haven’t killed anyone in quite some time.’ Maybe that’s why I’m so moody lately, maybe I need to let off some steam.

‘Well if you didn’t kill her, then who is this Demon King her sister talked about?’ We both think silently for a moment, studying the woman sitting in the chair.

Jamari must have sensed us both staring because she looked up and broke the silence. ““I understand that he must be your King and you would feel loyalty towards him, but I implore you to please not tell him that you ran into me.” She pleads with us.

I feel an ache in my heart at the fear I hear in her small voice. My eyes grow big in surprise. Why did I care if this woman was afraid? She was nothing to me. Right?

I hear Ruth muffle a chuckle and knew she had seen the slight movement where I almost went to her to comfort. I groan quietly. I would never hear the end of this from Ruth now.

I turn my attention back to Jamari and study her. Why do I feel so drawn to this wolfless werewolf? What was it about her that makes me want to protect her from the world? I feel this unexplainable urge to never let her go.

I snap out of my thoughts, remembering that she is sitting there waiting for a response to her question. Leaning forward, I finally ask, “Are you sure she said the man was the Demon King?”

I watched her as she became deep in thought, a frown showing on her brows. I take in a breath. Damn did she look beautiful sitting there like that. When she looks up at me and nodsher head yes, my heart stutters to a stop.

Her sweet voice fills the quiet. “Yes, I am sure that she said the man introduced himself as the Demon King. Do you know him?” The last part she all but whispered.

‘Are you going to tell her who you are?’ I hear Ruth ask through our mind link.

I think about Ruth’s question and what I want to do. I could easily lie to her and say I don’t know the Demon King, but the truth has a way of coming out and if I wanted anything real with Jamari I can’t do that.

I stop and go back over what I had just thought. Did I want something real with Jamari? I have only just met her but I can’t deny this yearning to have her that grows with each passing moment that I am in her presence.

With those thoughts in my head, I decid to be honest with Jamari and prayed that she trusted my sincerity. I stand up from the couch, watching as Jamari’s eyes follow my every movement. It appears she feels the same connection that I do.

I take two big steps and am in front of Jamari, and reach down to offer her my hand. She hesitates for a moment before putting her small hand in mine, allowing me to pull her up from her seat. Holding her hand, I look deep into her emerald eyes.

“I do know the Demon King, my little warrior woman.” I plant a soft kiss on her hand before continuing. “Allow me to introduce myself, Red. I am Levi, otherwise known as the King of Demons or Demon King.”

I watch as her eyes widen in shock and see the flash of fear that flits across her face. I hold my breath, expecting her to pull away from me. To my surprise, and pleasure, she doesn’t pull away and allows me to continue to hold her hands.

I give her time to process what I had just told her but couldn’t bring myelf to give her any physical space. The urge to wrap my arms around her and pull her close was threatening to overtake me. I struggle to contain this urge, not wanting to scare her away.

After a few moments of watching differing emotions flit across Jamari’s face, she finally looks up at me and asks quietly. “Did you kill my sister Levi?”

A stabbing pain shoots through my heart hearing her words. I couldn’t blame her for the question, she has no reason to trust me. We only just met and I turned out to be who her sister said was her murderer.

I give her hands a light squeeze before pulling away from her. I begin pacing the room, while running my fingers through my hair. Ruth thankfully said nothing. Just stood in the dining area watching us quietly.

Turning back to face Jamari’s tearful eyes almost broke the control I had over my own spiraling emotions. It was at that moment that I decided that I didn’t know who had killed her sister but I would hunt them down and punish them in the worst imaginable way possible.

And not because he was running around masquerading as the Demon King, but because he took something precious away from Jamari and in the process caused her so much pain. The pain I could feel rolling off Jamari increased my anger.

“I do not know who this so-called Demon King that your sister spoke of is, but I assure you that it wasn’t me and that I will find them and make them pay for your loss.” I growl out with deadly promise.

“And what do I owe in return?” She asks with fresh tears in her eyes.

What did I want in return? That answer was simple. “You.” I couldn’t stop myself from saying, possessively.

Her eyes widen in surprise. I can hear her heartrate picking up from my offer. Would she agree to my aide under my terms? I notice Ruth staring at me with interest but choose to ignore her to focus my attention on my fiery temptress.

Somehow she has come in and revived my long dead heart.

  • Rise of the Alpha Queen   Book 2 Coming Soon

Dear Readers, Thank you all for supporting me and my first book Rise of the Alpha Queen. It has been a thrilling ride and I can't believe that I have reached the end of my first book! I love reading the reviews readers have left me about my book, even the ones that are less than positive. I take them in stride and try to be better for future books. So please continue to let me know what your thoughts are on the story. I will be spending the next month going back through and editing my chapters, something I didn't have as much time as I would have liked while writing with a deadline these past few months, and then I will start on book 2. I hope to have book 2 started by the end of September or begining of October. Thank you again for all of your support! I hope you have all enjoyed watching Jamari move into her role as the Alpha Queen. Heidi Monath :) **UPDATE** Book 2: Alpha Queen's Reluctant Mate is now available! Hope you all enjoy as we dive more into the Fae Realm.

  • Rise of the Alpha Queen   Chapter 166- Entering the Vampire Realm

Jamari’s POVAnxiety courses through my body as we prepare to depart for the Vampire Realm. Aside from my few visits to the Demon Realm and my visit to the Garden of Eden, I haven’t left the Human Realm often. What would the Vampire Realm be like? Would it be eternal darkness so the vampires don’t turn to dust in the sun?A chuckle of nervous energy escapes me at the thought. I doubt the vampires burst into flames in the sun like the movies portray. I’m pretty sure that Eve had some vampires with her when she was trying to get into the Church grounds last week.Another reason for my anxiety is the Vampire King. Lucern. A shiver passes through me at the thought of his name. The interest my body shows in just his name has me concerned for how I will react upon meeting him. If Levi and Kenji’s theory is correct, he could possibly be one of my mates as well. I don’t know if I am ready for another mate just yet. I finally have a working relationship with both Levi and Kenji, and I have Re

  • Rise of the Alpha Queen   Chapter 165- Preparing for the Vampire Realm

Kenji’s POV “When do we leave for the Vampire Realm?” I would love nothing more than to put off going to the Vampire Realm so I can keep Jamari between just Levi and I a little longer, but we need to release Remiel from his prison quickly. “I have had Ruth send word to Lucern that we are requesting an audience with him and Morgana.” Levi tells me distractedly. Levi has been quiet since we saw his mother outside of the Church yesterday afternoon. “What is troubling you Levi?” I ask him, worried that something might be wrong. “You have been quiet since we came back from the Church and that is not like you.” That was an understatement of course. Levi is the exact opposite of quiet and has been the whole time that I’ve known him. Levi glances in my direction, a frown on his face. “Something has been bothering me since we last spoke with my mother.” He tells me, moving to sit on the couch beside me. “This sounds serious.” I turn my body so I am facing Levi. “It could be a disaste

  • Rise of the Alpha Queen   Chapter 164- Release Remiel

Eve’s POVIt’s been three days since I was last at the old Church ruins, unable to bring myself to come back here after the memories from long ago resurfaced. My eyes roam over the courtyard, as memories of happier times floods me, bringing tears to my eyes. We were supposed to get the rest of our lives together, or at least the rest of his life, instead our life together was cut short, shorter than even humans and their partners. There is no way that Shappa is still alive in the Fae Realm. Time moves differently over there making more time to have passed there than it has here. I let out a deep sigh as the weight of my grief once again threatens to weigh me down. I would give anything to at least get the chance to see my daughter again. Even if she is all grown up. A tear slides down my face. I pray to whichever God or Goddess that will listen that my Father was never able to get his hands on her and make her a part of his harem. Grandfathers shouldn’t have such thoughts. Magic sw

  • Rise of the Alpha Queen   Chapter 163- What We've Been Looking For

Jamari’s POVI’m not sure why Levi thinks the book will magically appear in the desk when it wasn’t here the first time that we checked, but if there is a chance that he could be right about the book being returned to the desk, I am willing to try it. Moving over to the desk, I take a seat in the chair behind the desk and look around. A feeling suddenly washes over me causing a look of surprise to appear on my face. My eyes snap up to where Kenji and Levi stand on the other side of the desk, their attention solely on me. I glance back down at the desk as I run my hand over the top with my palm facing down. Magic sizzles against my skin, surprising me. I jerk my hand back as I stare down at the empty space on the desk in bewilderment. “Do you guys feel that?” I ask, looking back up to Kenji and Levi. They put their hands over the top of the desk like what I had done, holding it there for longer than what I did, before pulling away and shaking their heads.A frown forms on my brow. M

  • Rise of the Alpha Queen   Chapter 162- Rieka's Return

Jamari’s POVA wholeness fills my mind the moment that Rieka returns back to her place at the forefront with me. The feel of her return wakes me from my sleep, the first restful sleep I have experienced in days. The dream that has plagued me since our run in with Eve thankfully didn’t haunt my dreams for once. ‘I’m sorry Mari, I didn’t mean to wake you.’ Rieka whispers in apology. A laugh moves through our link from me. ‘Why are you whispering? We’re talking inside my head.’ Fully awake now, I attempt to see the clock on the table beside Kenji, but his giant shoulder is blocking my view. I let out a quiet sigh, giving up on seeing what time it is so I don’t wake either of the men surrounding me. ‘She’s whispering because you tend to broadcast your conversations into our heads.’ Levi’s voice fills my mind as he pulls my body so I lay curved against his naked body. Interest begins to stir within me, the jump of his cock on my ass giving away his interest as well. ‘Sorry Handsome, I
