I had barely taken a few deep breaths, trying to calm my nerves while I used my fingers to massage my forehand when I heard a sound.

The ground trembled beneath me, faint at first and I was almost convinced I was imagining it. Then it came stronger, enough to feel the vibration on the chair I sat on.

“What the hell!!” I whispered to myself, sitting up right and staying alert. Initially, I thought the ground was preparing to open up, but I was wrong.

Before I could move, the door burst open. Marcus stumbled in, breathing hard, his face showing all the nerve wreckage he was experiencing.

“Luna,” He stopped, chest heaving, eyes wide.

“What's happening, why do you look like you've seen your worst nightmare.” My voice sounded urgent as the urgency propelled me to my feet.

“Troops….”

“Troops from where!?”

My impatience did not allow me to let him complete his sentence as I cut him short.

“The alpha king… Alpha ...”

He didn’t finish. He didn’t have to. The word alpha king sinked into

Fractures and FireThe camp was already stirring when Lyra returned, though her body ached as if she had marched for days. Every nerve felt raw, her mind weighed down by the keeper’s words. She longed for silence, a moment to breathe, but fate had no intention of granting her that mercy.Darius was waiting. He stood at the center of the clearing, speaking quietly with Rafe—though the moment his eyes found her, the world seemed to stop. His jaw tightened, his posture shifting from command to something sharper, hungrier.Lyra’s stomach twisted. The bond pulsed between them, raw and undeniable. She had hoped the walk back would dull it, but instead it throbbed stronger than ever, as if the woods themselves had stripped away her defenses.“Where were you?” Darius’s voice cut across the camp, low but carrying authority that left no room for escape.Lyra kept walking, ignoring the heat of his gaze. “That isn’t your concern.”“Everything you do is my concern,” he snapped, stepping into her

Into the Forgotten WoodsThe night refused to end.Lyra tossed restlessly in her tent, every whisper of the wind sounding like Lucian’s laughter, every creak of wood reminding her of the shadows that had clawed at her pack. Sleep mocked her, dangling just out of reach. When at last she gave up, she sat at the edge of her cot, staring at the dim glow of the dying fire outside. Her thoughts circled back to Darius’s words. He wants you. He won’t stop until he has you.The prophecy. The Moon’s chosen. The prize. The words tasted like chains. She pushed herself to her feet, dressed quickly, and slipped into the chill of the night. The camp was still—only a few guards patrolled the perimeter, nodding as she passed. They didn’t question her. She was Luna. But her heart still raced with the guilt of sneaking away, as if her every step was a betrayal.“Going somewhere?”Marcus’s voice broke the silence. He stepped from the shadows, arms crossed, eyes sharp despite the weariness etched into his

Fractures in the PackThe camp smelled of iron and ash.By dawn, the clearing looked like the aftermath of a storm—blood soaked into the earth, broken weapons scattered, and wolves slumped in exhaustion wherever they had fallen. The healers worked tirelessly, weaving herbs into poultices, binding wounds with steady hands, their faces grim.Lyra moved among them silently, kneeling beside the injured, touching shoulders, offering words of strength. Her own body ached from the night’s battle, her arms bruised and torn, but she refused to let it show. If she faltered, the pack would crumble with her.“Luna,” a young healer murmured, bowing slightly. “We lost six.”Lyra closed her eyes. Each death was a weight pressing against her chest. Six names, six lives she had sworn to protect, now gone. She forced herself to inhale, to stand taller. “See that their families are cared for,” she said softly. “And burn no pyres until I’ve spoken with them.”The healer nodded, moving on.From the corner

Shadows at the GateThe first warning came not from the scouts, but from the air itself.Lyra stirred from uneasy sleep, her wolf snapping awake inside her chest. The night was too still, too heavy, as if the forest itself was holding its breath. She sat upright, listening. No wind. No crickets. No owls.Then—howls.Not the cries of her own wolves, but deeper, darker, layered with something unnatural. The sound cut through the camp, dragging everyone from their tents. Warriors scrambled for weapons, mothers gathered their pups, and guards sprinted to the perimeter.Marcus was the first to reach her tent. “They’re here,” he growled, his voice taut with urgency. “Lucian’s pack.”Lyra was already on her feet, fastening her cloak, her heart thundering. She had expected him to test their borders, maybe send a spy or two. But not this soon. Not like this.“Form the lines,” she ordered, striding out into the night. “No one leaves the camp unprotected. Keep the pups and wounded in the inner c

Secrets of the BloodlineThe night was restless. The camp had quieted after the day’s storm, but the silence was a fragile one, heavy with unspoken doubts. Wolves shifted uneasily in their sleep, sentries paced longer than usual, and the scent of distrust clung to the air like smoke.Lyra sat in her tent, her back straight though exhaustion weighed on her bones. She stared at the flickering flame of the lantern, replaying the scene again and again—Darius on his knees, blood on his lips, the rogues baying for his death. She had chosen mercy, but mercy had its price.A rustle at the entrance pulled her from her thoughts. Marcus’s shadow didn’t linger there, nor did any of her guards. Instead, a faint cough followed by a heavy thud made her heart leap. She rushed to the flap, pushing it aside. Darius stood there—or tried to. He leaned heavily against the post, sweat beading on his forehead, his chest rising and falling with shallow breaths. His clothes were torn, his bandages already da

A Wolf DividedThe camp was restless the next morning. Smoke from the night’s fire still lingered in the air, but the wolves’ voices buzzed like a swarm of bees. Word of Darius’s arrival had spread like wildfire, and now everyone seemed to have an opinion about what should be done with him. Some wanted blood. Others feared him too much to act. And a few, disturbingly, spoke of him with the kind of reverence one would give a king.Lyra heard it all as she walked through camp, her head held high though her stomach twisted with unease. She had been their Luna, their shield, their hope. But with one broken man at the edge of their territory, her authority was already being tested.“Lyra.”Marcus’s voice was sharp behind her. He caught up in three strides, his jaw tight, his eyes burning with the kind of anger that came from fear.“You should have let me finish him last night,” he said flatly. “He’s a danger to all of us. You know it.”Lyra kept walking, though her pace quickened. “He’s no
