Cameron POv

Peter moved faster than I expected—like way faster. One second he was across the room, and the next he was grabbing my arm so hard it felt like my bones rattled.

“CAMERON?!” he shouted, voice cracking with shock and something way darker.

I stumbled forward, nearly hitting the closet door. “Let go—”

“What are you doing in my room?” His grip tightened. His eyes were wild, like he hadn’t slept in a week and someone replaced his brain with pure paranoia.

Brandon exploded from behind the desk like an action movie hero. “Get off him!”

Peter whipped toward him. “You too?!”

Brandon grabbed Peter’s wrist and yanked it off me. Peter tried to pull away, but Brandon didn’t let go.

And then all hell broke loose.

Peter swung at Brandon—messy, panicked, like he’d never thrown a punch in his life but was suddenly auditioning for a street fight. Brandon dodged, grabbed him, and shoved him back onto the bed.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Brandon snapped.

“What’s wrong with me?” Peter s

  • Rival's Marriage Agreement    Chapter 61

BRANDON’S POVPhase Three started before breakfast.I woke up to my phone vibrating like it was trying to escape the mattress. For half a second, I forgot everything—Peter, the stairs, the voice on the phone—then reality slammed back into me all at once.Cameron was fucking still asleep beside me, curled into my side, his face relaxed in a way that felt undeserved after the hell we’d been through. One of his hands was fisted in my hoodie like if he let go, the world might swallow him.I didn’t want to move.My phone buzzed again. And again.I carefully slid out from under Cameron’s arm, tucking the blanket around him before stepping into the hallway. The frat house was already awake—voices downstairs, footsteps, laughter that felt too loud, too careless.I checked my notifications.Group chats.Mentions.Tags.My stomach dropped.@CampusCrave:“Anonymous source claims Cameron H. involved in frat scandal—footage pending.”My fingers went numb.“No,” I muttered. “No, no, no.”More post

  • Rival's Marriage Agreement    Chapter 60

CAMERON’S POVI didn’t sleep.Like, at all.I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling while the house creaked and settled around me, every tiny sound making my heart jump. The blankets felt too heavy, my phone felt too light, and my brain would not shut up.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw that video again. The stairs. The fall.Brandon stepping forward.I rolled onto my side and checked the time.4:12 a.m.Great.My phone buzzed softly in my hand, like it knew I was already awake.Brandon: you aliveI exhaled a shaky laugh and typed back.Me: unfortunately yesMe: you?Three dots appeared almost instantly.Brandon: sameBrandon: wanna not be alone togetherI didn’t even hesitate.Me: yeahMe: pleaseI grabbed my hoodie and slipped into the hallway, moving quietly so I wouldn’t wake anyone. The frat house felt different now—less like home, more like a place that had betrayed us. Like it had been watching, listening, waiting.Brandon’s door was cracked open.I knocked lightly anyway.“C

BRANDON’S POVCameron saying that—“We’re not letting Peter walk away”—did something weird to my chest. Not fear. Not anger.Relief.Because it meant he wasn’t folding in on himself. He wasn’t spiraling or shutting down or pretending everything was fine. He was standing there, jaw tight, eyes sharp, ready to fight back. And honestly? That version of him scared me a little.“Okay,” I said slowly. “So what’s the plan?”Cameron glanced around the control room like it might still be listening. “First, we get out of here. Then we figure out how much of this place is actually real and how much is smoke and mirrors.”“Agreed,” I said. “Also, I vote we never come back here.”“That’s not a real plan.”“It’s an emotional boundary.”Despite everything, he snorted. “Fair.”We walked toward the exit together, steps cautious, shoulders brushing every now and then like we were subconsciously checking that the other was still real. The hallway beyond the control room looked… normal now. Just boring co

  • Rival's Marriage Agreement    Chapter 69

CAMERON’S POVThe alarms stopped as suddenly as they’d started. The silence afterward felt louder than everything that came before it.Brandon’s hand was still wrapped around mine, but it felt different now—tighter, like he was afraid if he loosened his grip even a little, I’d disappear. Or maybe he would. We didn’t move right away. The control room doors stood open, lights back to normal, like the place hadn’t just tried to rip us apart psychologically. Like we weren’t standing in the wreckage of something buried for two years. Finally, I pulled my hand free. Not harshly. Not angrily.Just… carefully.Brandon noticed immediately.“Cam,” he said quietly.“I need a second,” I replied, my voice steadier than I felt. “Please.”He nodded, stepping back without argument. That somehow hurt more than if he’d protested.I walked toward one of the dark screens, staring at my own reflection. I barely recognized the guy looking back—eyes too sharp, shoulders tense, jaw locked like it was holding

  • Rival's Marriage Agreement    Chapter 68

BRANDON’S POVThe moment Cameron let go of me, I realized my hands were shaking. Not from fear—okay, maybe a little—but mostly from the adrenaline crash that hit all at once, like my body finally remembered it was allowed to feel things again.“You okay?” Cameron asked, eyes scanning my face like he was checking for cracks.I nodded, even though my chest still felt tight. “Yeah. Yeah, I think so.”That was a lie. But it was the kind of lie you tell when the truth would only make things worse. The room around us hummed softly, like it was powering down. Screens dimmed one by one, their images dissolving into black. The bright white lights softened into something warmer, almost gentle.Too gentle.I didn’t trust it.Cameron squeezed my hand. “It feels… over. Like Phase Two actually ended.”I exhaled slowly. “Or they want us to think that.”He shot me a look. “You’re not helping.”“Sorry,” I said, squeezing his hand back. “Occupational hazard. Trauma brain.”We took a few cautious steps

  • Rival's Marriage Agreement    Chapter 66

CAMERON’S POVThe door slammed behind me so hard the sound echoed in my chest. For a second, I just stood there, staring at the solid metal wall like it might magically reopen if I stared long enough. My palms were pressed flat against it, breath coming out shallow and uneven.“Brandon,” I whispered.Nothing.The silence that followed was worse than the alarms, worse than the countdowns. It felt intentional—like whoever designed this wanted me to sit in it and let it crawl under my skin.I forced myself to breathe.In. Out.Don’t panic. The room I was in wasn’t dark, but it wasn’t comforting either. White walls. Bright overhead lights that hummed softly. No windows. No visible doors except the one that had just swallowed Brandon whole. At the center of the room was a single chair. And a screen.Of course there was a screen.I laughed weakly. “Original,” I muttered. “Really pushing the boundaries of psychological torture here.”The screen flickered to life.At first, it was just static
