Troth and Time

Jude’s POV

“Are you ready, girls?” My little ones were standing in front of me, their matching pastel rainbow dresses and pails of flower petals at the ready.

“We’re ready; are you ready, mommy?” Grace gave me a look up and down, taking note of my slightly trembling hands.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” I mumbled as Walter patted my arm from where he stood next to me. I had been having hot flashes all day, making me woozy and agitated.

“It’ll be fine. There’s your queue girls!” Walter ushered them on, regrabbing my arm. “I don’t have to worry about you running off now, do I?” He asked with a smile as I snuck a peak around the door to see my little girls do their job, trying to ignore the itchy sensation all over my skin.

“No, no. Just a little nervous..” is that mom standing next to Axel?! I had caught a glimpse of the alter and my groom standing there, his eyes only for our girls in this moment. Those two get together like oil and water.

I had been basically begging my mother to treat him better and to stop trying to poison the girls against him, but to no avail. To see her standing there with a grin on her face and her rainbow dress was surely a sign that the end of days was coming. I peaked one more look out the door just to be sure and actually caught her laughing at something Axel said. Fucking hell, what is going on with them all?!

I didn’t have any more time to wonder though as the music changed again, Walter giving my arm a squeeze as we stepped into the doorway as the bridal march started. I was too nervous to look up for a moment, my heart beating in my chest as it felt like my pale pink dress was suffocating me. “Oh, she’s beautiful.” Someone sighed as I was halfway down the aisle, prompting me to look up.

And there was my Axel, his shoulders squared as he stood tall and proud, his eyes of blue looking like lovely deep pools of water with the tears he had in them. He was staring at me like I was a priceless work of art, something to be treasured and admired. His eyes did not stray from me as I saw his mouth turn into his signature grin, his lips forming ‘I love you’.

When we got to the alter, Walter handed my arm to his and stepped to the side, Teddy clearing his throat as he began the ceremony. “Wolfkin who are gathered, we are here in love and in life, in honor of our Goddess and her way of blessings. We honor these two now who have come together in the most sacred of moments to forge a bond brought together by Nix herself. If any have proof otherwise, may they come forward now and speak their peace.” Teddy was reading the words off of a notecard, this being his first time presenting the ceremony as a King.

I held my breath as I looked to my mother, her eyes gleaming in tears as she smiled right at me. Oh, thank Goddess. I had thought she was waiting to oppose the marriage, but it seemed that the two had come to an agreement of some kind. Teddy cleared his throat and continued on.. “Axellion, do you take Jude as your life partner, your other half of your soul, your fated mate chosen by Nix herself?”

“Fuck yes.” He grinned, as the girls whisper yelled at him for cussing. “Sorry, I mean yes, yes I do.” He blushed deeply.

“And do you Jude take Axellion as your life partner, your other half of your soul, your fated mate chosen by Nix herself?”

“I do.” I smiled at Axel and squeezed his hand, loving how he looked in his tie and suit.

“Then may Nix join your lives in this one and the next, and may you prosper and grow together. I officially name you mates.” Teddy finished as Axel did not wait for him to continue as he scooped me forward and dipped me into a deep kiss. Cheers went up around us, the girls gathering at our legs and pulling together to wrap us into a hug.

It was a blur for me then as pictures were taken and we were ushered to the formal dining room to join everyone in eating, dancing, and drinking. I did the bouquet toss and it was caught by a college of mine in the nursing unit, Axel and I fed each other a bite of cake, and everyone was enjoying themselves.

‘Goddess, I just want to rip that dress right off you and lick you from lips to your other lips.’ Axel linked me, making me squirm as I felt a hot flash hit my body yet again, this one being way worse than all the others of the day.

‘Goddess, you better make good on the promise love; I think I feel my heat coming on.’ I purred back to him; finally noticing what was really happening to me.

‘REALLY?!’ His head shot up and caught my attention as he was talking to Teddy, complete ignoring his friend then at the news.

‘I’m positively… But we need to discuss something first. It’s about kids.’ I took a breath to steady myself as I locked eyes with Axel again. ‘If I have anymore, I just want one. Four was too much for me the first time.’ I confided in him, making him nod his head.

‘I understand. But if we do have another one together; I want a boy. There’s too much estrogen in our house.” He pouted at me, making me snort as I was trying to sip a little water,

‘You got yourself a deal.’ I waved it him from my seat as Melody came up with my favorite little niece, both of them looking better than this morning. “Melody! I’m so happy that you decided to come, it means a lot.” I smiled at her as she sat down, leaning her head a little on my shoulder.

“I’m happy I came; I need to get better and the room wants t helping with that.” She confided.

“Well, I for one and looking forward to seeing you out and about more.” Someone clinked a glass somewhere as Axel and Teddy came over to join us at the table, everyone’s attention turning to a large man in the corner.

“Hello, everyone!” Chip was standing next to Heather as their little daughter was in his arms, wrapping her fingers around Chip’s jacket tightly and grinning up at him with frosting covering her little face. “I just wanted to congratulate the happy couple on this wonderful day!” A cheer went up as he smiled at the crowd and continuing on. “I wish them happiness and joy through their marriage, may the years be kind, and your lives long!”

Glasses clinked again as he sat down, and others gave small speeches as well, making me cry some.

‘Are you alright, Sexy? Do I need to whisk you off your feet right now and take you away to ravage you?’ He wiggled his eyebrows at me, making me smile.

‘No, just enjoying our friends and their well wishes.’ And I was enjoying my husband and his warm and inviting presence in my life now. If anything, I hoped that this feeling would never go away; but only time would tell.
