로그인Tawnie (One Week Later)I paced around the meeting room anxiously while Storm leaned against the wall, cleaning her fingernails with a pocketknife. I missed Alek like crazy. I hadn’t seen him since the morning I left him after reassuring him that I was fine. We linked often, but I still had no idea if he would be coming to the meeting or not, but it wasn’t just that. I was irritated that I had to run this meeting instead of continuing to find out just how deeply Andresky was embedded in my territory. Instead of spending my time with Alek. My lips pursed tighter as I thought about how angry Alek told me Andresky got when he found out that I wasn’t going to die and was well enough to still run the meeting. Suddenly, Storm laughed, and I growled as my attention went to her.“WHAT?!” I yelled, spinning around to glare at her.“Calm down, Tawn. You’re going to wear a path through the floor and end up in somebody’s bed,” she chuckled as she waved her hand in my direction.I groaned as I dro
I sighed deeply as I walked back over to the bed, where my beautiful mate was still sleeping. When I stood above her, she sighed deeply.“It’s time to get up, isn’t it?”I nodded as I sat on the edge of the bed and took her hand. “Yeah. I’m sorry, baby. I wish I could stay all day in bed with you. Trust me, I do,” I told her softly.“I know. I’d like that too,” she murmured as she reached up to wrap her arms around my neck. “You know, I could just kill him and take over his territory, so I would be your boss,” she told me, making me groan.“You’d like that too much,” I grumbled against her lips, while she laughed softly.“I so would! I would have you under my desk, eating me out while I worked.”I raised an eyebrow at her as I nipped at her lips. “Are you sure about that?”“Not at all, but I’d try it just to piss you off,” she said breathlessly, causing me to growl with desire to punish her for even thinking that.“I’m more likely to bend you over your desk and fuck you until you are
AlekI was sitting on the couch, loading magazine after magazine with bullets, while Galen sat across from me, checking each of the guns that we had put on the table between us. I was glad that I could always count on him to have my back, just like I had his. As soon as I had decided on revenge, Galen had left to retrieve all his weapons, while I collected mine. Between both of our arsenals, we had 37 guns, 13 daggers, and several swords. If anyone was watching us, it was clear that we were preparing for war. Suddenly, Galen’s head snapped up, and he looked toward the windows.“Do you hear that?” he asked.I frowned at him as Talon pushed forward to listen to all the sounds going on around us, before I groaned when I picked up on the sound he had drawn my attention to. Somewhere in the distance, there was an ear-deafening roar, and I instantly knew who it was.“Storm!”“Storm? The Storm? Tawnie’s second-hand woman?” he asked, alarm in his voice as he looked around, almost as if he tho
TawnieFor about ten minutes after Talon forced Alek to shift, I stood there, staring after him, hoping that he would come back, so I could protect him, but he didn’t. Finally, I sighed as I turned away to head back to the casino, where I knew Storm was waiting for me to get back. When I walked into my office, Storm looked up at me from the couch, where she was reading a magazine.“You really do love him, don’t you?” she asked softly.I sighed as I threw myself down in my seat. “Yeah, I do.”She tilted her head as she studied my face. “Are you ever worried that you're just repeating what happened with Jonas?”I immediately stiffened as everything in me screamed to hide from her words. I took a deep breath as I shook my head. “No. I used to. When he first told me that we were mates, I worried about it. I tried to push him away, but I couldn’t. I was too drawn to him. I wanted him too much. I know it sounds crazy, after everything I went through with Jonas, but Alek is different. I don’
After Tawnie got dressed, I took her hand, smiling softly at her as I led her out to the main area, where Storm raised her eyebrow.“That wasn’t much longer than 5 seconds,” she mused.I bared my teeth at her. “Well, if you weren’t here, I’d still have her on her knees. So, thanks so much for ruining our moment!”“ALEK!” Tawnie roared as Storm leaned back against the chair and put her feet up on the coffee table.“You’re welcome.”When I growled and took a step toward Storm, Tawnie pulled me back to her side. “Can you two behave, please? I really want you two to get along.”I bared my teeth at Storm, whose lips curled up in a smirk. “Get your second in command under control, Tawnie. I’ll fucking tear her throat out!”“Whatever, you big cat! I’m not afraid of you! You’re pathetic!” Storm sneered.“I’ll show you pathetic!” I seethed.Tawnie let her aura out when Storm opened her mouth to respond. “Meet me in my office in an hour,” my mate ordered. “I’m going to walk Alek to the border.”
Alek-4 days laterI brushed my lips over Tawnie’s forehead as she slumbered peacefully next to me. I had been willing to give everything up for her the night we met, simply because I was drawn to her. When I left here today, I’d be willing to give up everything for her for a different reason. While I had fallen in love with her cruel, cold, and deadly personality, I was hopelessly in love with her now. The last week that I had been here with her, I had fallen hopelessly in love with her.I mean, how could I not? She was all fiery and bossy until my hand went around her throat. Then she was the best good girl anyone could ask for. I loved how easy life was with her. I couldn’t remember if I had ever laughed this hard, but damn if she didn’t make me howl with laughter every chance she got. I could see her melting in ways that I never thought she would, and I was enjoying every second of it.It was going to kill me to walk away from her, but I had to. If I didn’t die at Andresky’s hands,
