Killian’s POV

(The night before)

“That’s a lie,” my voice rang out in the darkness, with my gun still pressed against her throat.

She tilted her head and smirked, and the most insane realization slammed into my chest.

She was the one from the picture at the wedding.

The mysterious girl we couldn’t seem to find a lead on.

The one who…no. She didn’t kill Jeremy. It wouldn’t make any sense.

Even though nothing was making any sense now.

But why was she there then? I looked back at her face, and the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

Was that why I recognized her?

Was that why I couldn’t put a bullet in her when I realized she was following me?

Why did she kidnap Alessandra?

What the fuck was happening?

No.

My sister was murdered in front of me when I was four.

I saw her body cut up into big chunks in that old cardboard box.

I still have the orange ribbon from her hair.

“It’s me, Killian.” She said again, drawing my attention back to her.

“Shut up,” I said, and was a

Alessandra’s POVI felt groggy. Like shit hiding in the rectum for days, desperately waiting for a release.Yeah, I know.I tossed on the bed and turned, wondering how I had gotten so cold. Somewhere during the night, I felt at peace. Warmth, something I had missed for a while, had wrapped around me. It was like I’d been transported into a different realm for six hours. And then it vanished.I didn’t need to breathe in his scent to know it was Killian. No other man could affect me the way he did.I sat up on the bed, rubbing at my eyes as my muscles screamed in protest. Everywhere hurt. They were supposed to, right? But this felt different. My body ached like I’d been injected with pure adrenaline, like I had fought through something and forgotten all about it.“Alessandra? Are you awake?” Lia’s voice floated in from behind the door. “Is Killian in there with you? I’ve been searching for you two all morning.”I tried to answer but my throat caught, and instead of words, I coughed into

Killian’s POVShe pressed the knife further, and I could feel my skin give way.But I didn’t move, just stared at her eyes until I saw emotion struggling to break free. “I thought you didn’t feel,” I said, smirking as blood dripped onto the knife. She glanced at it, just for a split second, but it was enough. I knocked it out of her hands, got out the car and pinned her against the hood. “Stop fighting. I just want to talk.”“You and I have no business talking about shit. Go back to your perfect family. I’m irrelevant,” she spat, stomping on my boots with as much force as she could gather. But my grip didn’t loosen. “What do you mean irrelevant? You’ve been missing for almost fifteen years Lena. We thought you were dead.”She stiffened, then began struggling again. “Fuck you. You all knew they kidnapped me and didn’t even bother to look. What’s the Godfather so good for if he can’t even find his own daughter?”My heart lurched at the pain in her voice.“Lena….”“No! I grew up think

Killian’s POV I didn’t know whether to buckle under the weight of emotion, or call his bluff. But his eyes were too firm and sure for someone who would have been lying. So I shifted my weight, cocked the gun again, and told him to go on. “Let’s look at it this way. You had enemies, still have, but as the Godfather’s first son, still a lot more than a normal mafioso would have.” I shrugged. “So you needed to leave the picture before you were bred. You seemed deadly even as a child,” he kept on, shaking his head and smiling with some strange wisdom I didn’t understand. But for some reason, I wanted to keep listening. Maybe it was the scar that ran across his chest. Or the visible scars that started from the side of his jaw and ran down all the way into his torso. Something about him screamed familiarity in ways I couldn’t describe. “So yes, the kidnapping was planned. But it wasn’t from the people your father was at war with.” “What?” I spat. “They didn’t take your sist

Alessandra’s POVMy legs were shaking.I felt like a sore wound waiting to burst open. My muscles ached, my bones felt hollow, and my head was constantly drumming in my ear.But somehow, I was still worried about Killian.“How many people did he kill?” I asked Damon as we walked through the unknown building where I’d been held hostage. I could see bodies on the floor in my peripheral vision, but I didn’t want to think about them.“Well, almost all of them. Ronan and I took care of the rest.”I swallowed, but my throat was dry, and nodded. I tried to look at Damon, but his expression was locked, his emotions sealed away behind that mask I usually saw on Killian.Except this one was a lot less lethal looking, and he seemed mentally drained too. I met Ronan outside a few seconds later, and the cold night wind instantly made my teeth chatter.“Ale,” he called out as he saw me.I managed a weak smile at him and winced when the cut on my lips stung.“We need to get you to a hospital,” Damon

Killian’s POVHer voice was steady, too steady for someone standing in a room dripping with blood, with Alessandra trembling behind me.The sound of it crawled down my spine like ice water. Every other voice I had heard tonight had cracked, screamed, begged for mercy as I cut through the ones who touched her. But hers carried no quiver, no stutter, no fear. She stood there, calm in the carnage, and the steadiness of her tone only made me want to end her faster. My grip tightened around the gun, my jaw locking. “What the fuck do you mean, finally?” I snarled, my chest heaving from rage and the fight I’d just torn through. She didn’t flinch. She didn’t even move. The light spilling in from the hall painted her face in shadows, hiding her features, and it only made me want to plant bullets in her skin quickly. For obvious reasons, I ignored her when Damon showed up at the door and ran to Alessandra. She trembled, her wrists sore and her eyes bloodshot. I felt my heart tremble with rage
