Olivia ’S POV.

I wish I had left my husband for death that night I met him,Maybe now I wouldn’t be standing here, watching and listening to his pathetic sorry ass fuck my best friend.

“Fuck yes, harder, daddy! Harder!” The voice resonated all through the hallway and I felt my heart immediately sink into my stomach the moment I opened the door.

 I touched the doorknob, opening it with my entire being filled with denial.

It’s was our 5 years anniversary, There’s no way this is happening. I mean, I’m probably just overthinking it. My husband couldn’t possibly be fucking someone else on the very day that is supposed to be the happiest day of our life.

 I turned the knob, pushing the door open a bit and right there and then, I saw my world crash down to my feet.

Tears welled up in my eyes and my chest heaved, I opened my mouth to scream but I couldn’t even let out the tiniest sound.

I was numb as I stood rooted to the spot, my mind was completely blank and all I could do was watch my husband of five years fuck my best friend who I’ve known all my fucking life.

Ethan and Sharon  were both going at it like an animal in heat on my matrimonial bed.

Is that the same girl I’d spent my life with? The same girl I thought would never hurt me in a million years?

“Don’t you dare cum.” Ethan commanded.

I couldn’t hold it in anymore.  Intentionally, I dropped my bag to announce my presence and Ethan stopped, his head turning in my direction. His pupils dilated with shock that disappeared as quickly as it appeared.

“What is going on here?” I asked, swallowing the sobs that threatened to shatter my calm and the bile in my lungs that made it hard for me to breathe.

“What does it look like?” Ethan retorted as he got out of the bed, there wasn’t an iota of remorse in his voice or his eyes and Sharon, my best friend, just laid on the bed.

“Did I not ask you to call me?” He added, his eyes completely dark. He looked like a monster and not the man I’d fallen in love with and married.

“This is what happens when you don’t follow instructions.” He added and I felt an anger like never before knot in my stomach as I glared at him.

“YOU WERE FUCKING MY BEST FRIEND ON OUR MATRIMONIAL BED!” I yelled at the top of my lungs but he only laughed as if I’d just said something funny.

“AND SO FUCKING WHAT?” Ethan yelled back at me, “You’re useless in every way, I mean, YOU CAN’T EVEN KEEP A FUCKING CHILD!” He spat, hitting me with his words as if it was my fault I couldn’t get pregnant.

“You’re as hollow as an eggshell, why are you surprised I searched for what you lack elsewhere?” He bellowed and right there and then, I knew what I needed to do.

Going back and forth or crying about it right now isn’t going to help at all.

The betrayal of my husband and best friend wrapped around me like a tight chain, it gnawed through me, slow, painful and merciless and I felt hollowed out, I felt like a complete fool.

‘Don’t cry. Don’t cry. You can’t show weakness.’ I repeated those words like it was some sort of mantra and laughed out loud even though I was breaking down inside.

“I see,” I swallowed as I took off my ring, “you know, you’re right. I deserve better than you.” I said calmly as I threw the ring on his face, my eyes stung with the tears I was blinking back but I didn’t care.

“THIS MARRIAGE IS OVER!” I said as firmly and calmly as I could before picking up my bag and heading out but I stopped just before I could make it out and turned to face Sharon.

“As always, sharon, you can have my leftovers.”
