CAMILLE

Soft music filled the air and I let the soft tunes sway my body here and there. Be as free as a feather, Madame would always say. I twirled around the pole, lifting my eyes from my bandaged hands and keeping my feet on the ground.

All the stretches and morning exercises worked. I felt lighter— or was it last night that did the trick? Something about the way he stared at me brought up this bubbly feeling in my chest.

My whole body burned with need. I ran my hand down my body like I'd watched the girls do a lot of times. Men worked with visuals and they liked a naughty little thing.

Not my words, but theirs.

He must like this too. Why open a strip club and not partake in it? I thought of his eyes that never left my face, lips that parted slightly like he could kiss me. Last night was different and new, something I'd never felt before but only seen in movies I peaked on.

Wanted.

I pressed the pole between my thighs and slowly moved in and out trying to lighten up my body.

CAMILLEI woke up to a sharp pain from my lower abdomen. I clutched my stomach, groaning softly as the familiar dull throb intensified. Oh no! I hope I didn't stain the sheets.Waves after waves, it crashed into me till I almost curled into a ball."You alright?" Matteo's voice boomed from behind me, he started to sit up.This couldn't get any worse.I tried to roll out of bed but his arm stopped me, "Where are you going?""I need to pee," I groaned, frustration lacing my voice."What's with the attitude?" he asked softly, curious and concerned? I shook off the feeling and started to get up, trying not to crouch to get more attention than necessary."Why are you still here?" it was just afternoon and he could be at work. I glanced at the sheets, trying to find any stain with my eyes. I was afraid if I moved it then we'd all see the mess I've made.He rubbed his eyes, looking hotter than expected. Glad to know my libido worked just fine. "You were ordered to keep me home."With what we

MATTEOThe loud bang rocked the house and her scream pieced the air. What a drama queen! "You're about twenty feet away from the damage, Camille," I snapped once I slid into my car and started to drive out. Frankie and Johnny rushed out of the house, aiming their guns at my car but they did not dare open fire.It was bad enough to shoot at a Russo but it was worse if that Russo was me.Glaring at the pussies from the rearview mirror, I made it out of the house and raced into the road, drifting through cars and almost causing an accident."Stop! Stop the car already! Matteo!" Camille's scream was endless. She bounced in her seat, a terrifying look on her face but other than the panic in her voice, I paid no attention to her words. Didn't listen until we got home.I grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out when she continued to prove stubborn. "Keep walking or I'll drag you across the tiles, just you wait.""Let go of me, Matteo! Let go!" she struggled harder, pinching my hand on her.

MATTEO I pressed my foot harder on the gas pedal, my heart thumping in sync with the hum of the engine, each beat screaming her name. When one of my boys alerted me that the old man stopped by and worse, blew up my door and left with my guest, I stormed out of my office, boiling with rage. He better not lay hands on her! I'll come after him and his fucking son! “Get out of ten fucking way!” I screamed, gripping the wheels tight. Every time I closed my eyes, all I saw was a blurred image of blood. Her, lying on the ground, beat up and her dress cut open. Fuck. I was struggling for my breath, the thought of her in danger sending my heart into overdrive. My chest tightened with an ache. Fuck all the traffic signs! I could deal with the cops later. Her soft voice pleading to be saved, begging for mercy, for him to stop— shit! I stepped on it! Harder, wishing the car would go faster and faster, open yet just fly. I pulled into the house, jumped out of the seats and Gareth waited

  • Run, Camille, Run   36. Call me Russo

CAMILLEThe soft rays of the sun splattered on my face like a gentle kiss. I awoke with a soft sigh, blinking at the familiar room.I was alive. Far from what I was expecting. Why didn't God take my life if he didn't want a man like Matteo— I mean a monster like him— to have me?This wasn't a sign for us, it was one against us.I tried to stand but the weight resting over my waist proved a hindrance. I suddenly realized I was pressed against a hard chest from behind.A warm, living and breathing one. I counted his heartbeat, mine speeding up as I registered my surroundings. This wasn't my room at the club and it wasn't my pillow hugging me either from behind. This was a cuddle.A warm cuddle after rounds of sex.Oh my God! I tried to bite his dick off. All my sins played right before my eyes. I had no reason not to wake up dead.I tried to pull away when I suddenly felt it. I sucked my core in and there was an obstruction— a delicious one.He was still inside me.The awareness hit me

CAMILLE I tried to come up for air, my throat closed around him. He held me strong, keeping me there with a tight grip.“Do it again, I said,” he repeated. “And watch how that fucking beast reacts to whatever you do.”He bobbed my head on his length instead, not caring as I struggled to breathe. I had to claw at his hand, trying to beg for mercy, to be allowed to breathe.Pain bursts from my hair as he continued to fuck my throat. Heat pooled between my legs, betraying my physiological state.“I tried to fight it but look at this, you and I are made for each other.”No.“You're just like me, Camille.”Never.Far from it.“An outcast. Alone. Living in chaos with no one to call home.”I knew now where my home was. Not on this fucking Earth.“You wanted me, didn't you? Well now you fucking have me. ‘Matteo's girl’ is what you'll be and if we burn, we burn as one.”Those vows were making my heart race. He had it all twisted. That wasn't something to say to anyone at all.I didn't want to

CAMILLEGunshots shattered in the air and it followed with screams and grunts. I heard bodies drop but I squeezed my eyes tightly shut, afraid I was already in hell.I was in no pain, I felt no difference other than the fact that my soul was no longer with me. It felt like it bailed out on me.My heart had stopped as I waited for the end, but it never came, instead, silence was what filled the room. Then a voice.“Everyone out.”A low simple command, right in front of me. Slowly while trembling, I opened my eyes. The first thing I saw was the angel of death.Matteo, standing just a few inches away from me, his chest heaving with hard breaths. He looked shaken, rough and afraid. What could possibly cause him to look like this? His throat worked in a swallow, he turned to glance around and I did the same. The masked men were on the floor, unmoving and in a pool of their own blood.I recognized his second, the one who had a problem with me cleaning him up the other day. Luca, was it? He
