Emma’s POV

I wasn’t supposed to enjoy his presence outside of sex.

But here I was.

Lying next to Killian Thomas in the middle of the abandoned library, the first rays of morning light filtering through the high windows. His breathing was slow and even, his chest rising and falling steadily. He looked… peaceful.

It was infuriating.

Because for the first time since this ridiculous arrangement started, I wanted to stay here a little longer.

I wanted to just exist with him.

And that was dangerous.

I turned my head slightly, taking in his features—his sharp jawline, the faint shadow of stubble that made him look less like the perfect student and more like the man who had spent the night dragging me through every sinful act imaginable.

Last night had been different.

It wasn’t just sex.

It felt like something more, something that lingered even after the pleasure had faded.

Something that made my chest tighten in a way I did not like.

I forced myself to sit up, pulling the librarian’s old swe

  • Ruthless Temptation   The High Society Problem

Emma’s POV I regretted coming the moment we stepped into the ballroom. It wasn’t the dress—I looked stunning in it, a sleek off-shoulder black gown that clung to every curve and shimmered subtly with every step I took. It hugged my body like it had been stitched onto my skin, elegant but fierce, the kind of dress that made statements without a word. It wasn’t Killian—he stood tall beside me, devastatingly handsome in a tailored tux, his jaw sharp, his presence magnetic. His hand rested gently at the small of my back, grounding me, anchoring me. No, it was them. The people I’d grown up around. My father’s circle. The men in designer suits who believed status could be inherited and the women who wore diamonds like armor and smiled with venom behind their painted lips. They all turned to stare the moment we walked in. One of the women whispered into her champagne flute like it was a microphone for gossip. Another rai

  • Ruthless Temptation   A Family Battle

Emma’s POV “He’s not good enough for you, Emma. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.” My father’s voice echoed through the marble-floored study of our estate, his words sharp and final like the slam of a judge’s gavel. The fire crackled behind him, casting long shadows on the walls as if even the room disapproved of what I’d become.I stood across from him, arms folded tightly against my chest, trying to keep my face neutral even as rage simmered just below the surface. It wasn’t the first time we’d had this fight, and it wouldn’t be the last—but something about this evening made it feel final. Like a choice had to be made.“Then maybe your definition of ‘good enough’ is what’s broken,” I replied coldly, my voice steady despite the way my hands trembled with restraint. His eyes narrowed. “He’s not one of us. You know that. You were raised for more than this… dalliance.”I clenched my jaw, trying not to scream. “He’s better t

  • Ruthless Temptation    Struggles of Going Public

Killian’s POV Dating Emma Weston in secret had been easy. Well, maybe not easy—there had been the sneaking around, the whispered rendezvous, the constant need to stay out of sight—but in a twisted way, that had been simpler. There was something intoxicating about stolen moments, breathless kisses behind locked doors, and the adrenaline rush of nearly getting caught. Now that we were out in the open, everything was complicated. Every step felt calculated. Every smile, every word had to be curated and carefully placed. No more hiding. No more pretending we didn’t know each other outside of boardrooms and elevators. Now, we were a brand. A spectacle. A source of gossip in offices and articles in sleek society pages. Dinner reservations were suddenly made under her name. Networking events came with whispered conversations and glances that lingered too long on

  • Ruthless Temptation   Office Gossip Erupts

Killian’s POV Monday mornings were never quiet at Weston Enterprises, but this one felt like walking into a war zone—only instead of bullets, there were whispers. Whispers sharp enough to wound. My name floated between cubicles like smoke—soft, curling, impossible to pin down but heavy in the air. “So it’s true?” “He’s with Emma Weston?” “How long’s it been going on?” I kept my head down as I crossed the open floor, ignoring the sideways glances, the curious smirks, the people pretending to work while they watched me. The silence didn’t help—it made the whispers louder. I could feel them cling to my skin, feel the weight of each stare digging into my back like knives. No one said anything to my face. But they didn’t have to. I’d seen the photos. It had broken over the weekend—spilled out of some socialite’s

  • Ruthless Temptation   Making It Official

Emma’s POV The evening of the corporate gala had finally arrived, and as I stood before the mirror adjusting the delicate clasp of my necklace, a mixture of anticipation and anxiety swirled within me. Killian’s presence behind me was both reassuring and grounding; his hands rested gently on my waist, his touch a silent promise of support. “Are you absolutely certain about this?” he inquired softly, his breath warm against the nape of my neck. I met his gaze in the mirror, noting the concern etched in his deep blue eyes. “Not entirely,” I confessed with a wry smile. “But what I am certain of is us. I’m tired of the shadows, of stolen moments and hidden glances. Tonight, we step into the light together.” His fingers tightened slightly, conveying understanding and solidarity. “If at any point it becomes overwhelming, we can leave. This is about us, no one else.” I turned to face him fully, placing a hand over hi

  • Ruthless Temptation   The Aftermath

Emma’s POV My father didn’t speak to me for five days. Not a call. Not a message. Not even one of his passive-aggressive emails disguised as “urgent company updates.” He didn’t so much as glance in my direction during board meetings, despite the fact that I sat two chairs away from him, directly in his peripheral vision. The silence was louder than any screaming match we could have had. Worse, it echoed—through the marble halls of Weston Holdings, through the strained small talk between executives, through the suffocating silence at family dinners where only my mother dared to ask if I was okay. I wasn’t. And neither was Killian. He didn’t push. He didn’t demand answers or ask how I was coping. He simply stayed close. His presence, quiet and unwavering, grounded me in ways I hadn’t realized I needed. Gentle touches at night. Soft kisses to my shoulder each morning. His hand brush

  • Ruthless Temptation   A Silent Pact

EmmaI couldn’t sleep. The room was dark, the moonlight filtering in through the thin slats of the blinds, casting silver shadows across the walls. The sheets were tangled around my bare legs, cool against my skin, and Killian’s arm was draped heavily over my waist. His body was warm, solid, anchoring me to the moment. But my thoughts refused to rest. He’d said it.He’d actually said I love you.Just like that. No hesitation. No panic. No calculated delivery. It had fallen from his lips like it was the most natural thing in the world, like it had been waiting there all along. And God help me—I’d felt it, too.I hadn’t said it back. Not aloud. But it had screamed through every inch of me—crashing like waves, rising like fire, blooming like something wild and too dangerous to name.I loved him.I loved Killian Thomas. And that truth sat like a live wire under my skin—beautiful, terrifyin

  • Ruthless Temptation   Caught in the Act

Emma’ POV I should’ve known better. After his surprise visit, after that god-awful confrontation in the hotel suite, after I told him I loved Killian right to his face I should’ve been more careful. But I wasn’t. Because Killian touched me like I was his last breath. Kissed me like he needed me to survive. And in the chaos of all that emotion, I forgot about consequences. Again. It had been a long week back at headquarters. Tension hung in the air like a storm waiting to explode. My father barely looked at me in meetings. His glares toward Killian were icy, clipped, and filled with restrained rage. But he said nothing. Did nothing. And that silence was more terrifying than his anger. So when Killian pulled me into the file room during our lunch break, I didn’t stop him. I let him press me against the cold cabinet, his hands greedy, mouth hot on my neck. We were reckless.

  • Ruthless Temptation    A Surprise Visit

Killian’s POV The view from our hotel balcony was unreal skyline shimmering in the dusky light, the soft buzz of the city below, and Emma standing in nothing but my white dress shirt, coffee in hand, lips still swollen from our last round. We’d barely slept. Again. She turned and smirked at me. “We should get dressed. Meetings start in an hour.” “I’m not convinced we should even leave this room.” She chuckled, but her eyes had that familiar warning glint. “Killian…” I pulled her against me anyway, lifting her onto the table, her laughter muffled by my mouth. We’d made a routine of this long meetings, polite smiles, subtle touches under tables, then explosive release behind closed doors. We were addicted, and this hotel suite was our newest playground. We barely made it out on time, and as always, we played the professional act to perfection. Emma, in her fitted navy blazer and towering he
