Elina POV

“A wolf howling…”

“You heard it, right?” he asked. I shook my head, as if it would stop me from regretting my decision that night to run into the woods.

“Did you see it?” I quickly asked. He shook his head.

“I couldn’t. I tried to find it… it can’t be one of the pack members,” he said.

“It is the red moon… maybe it’s a wolf, not a werewolf,” I said, trying to clear his suspicion.

“Wolves? I thought there are wild wolves here,” he asked. He turned to me. I started to think of what to make up for him to believe my lie.

“They pass by sometimes, and it’s rare…” I said. He nodded.

“Would you like to come over to my place…?” Felipe asked. I turned to him.

“I… I…”

“It is okay if you don’t want to.”

“No, I would love to.”

“Okay, let’s go.”

We walked to Felipe’s place. It was a shared cabin between other rogues that Kieran helped into the pack.

His room was large, and there were paintings everywhere…canvases at the corner. The room was plain; only the paintings brought color into it
