CHAPTER 52

"Mom, it's not what you think, okay? We simply stayed up late last night, and as we were feeling hungry, we decided to have a late-night meal. But then, we couldn't immediately fall back asleep. We ended up staying awake, engaged in deep conversations. Unfortunately, my room isn't soundproof, so any noise could be heard," I explained, trying to clarify the situation.

"Well, I suppose there's some truth to that," my brother chimed in.

After our somewhat awkward lunch, the food might have been delicious, but we struggled to enjoy it under Mom's skeptical gaze. The truth is, nothing happened between us last night or this morning. But if we had wanted to, why not, right?
