Chapter 2

Months passed and still, no one came forward to claim the baby, Kendra gave birth to her own baby girl and named her Sandy. They were happy and things with the war seemed to have been resolve for now. The council still existed and everything was back to normal. Except for the baby that no one seemed to know anything about.

“She is going to grow up to be a beautiful girl,” Damien commented looking at Shannon playing with Austin. Kendra looked at her kids and smiled. “Yes, she is, she is well behaved too,” Kendra said. “That she is, never gave us any problems.” Damien said. “mm.” that was all the answers Kendra gave.

Damien knew that something was bothering her. “What is on your mind?” he asked. “Just that I don’t understand this, I mean how can someone just leave a baby in a cave without care like that?” she asked not able to wrap her head around this whole thing. “Humans can do that, I mean the baby doesn’t have any werewolf scent and is not a witch either. So, that only leaves a human.”

Damien answered. “You may be right, besides our kind would never throw away a baby like that,” Kendra said, their kind, which is the supernatural beings were already a few of them, so, throwing babies away is not something one of their own would do, at least that is what they believed.

“So, we are keeping her?” asked Damien earning himself a glare from Kendra. “She has been with us for months now and you only asking if we are keeping her now? Did you maybe have an idea as to where we can dump her?” Kendra was angry he even asked, she loved children and would never give Shannon up.

Damien sighed helplessly, that is not what meant, “No, that is not why I am asking, I am only asking because I don’t want you to be overwhelmed by these kids.” He explained and she sighed. “Am sorry, I just don’t want to give her away to someone else, he already knows us and is used to us.” She explained.

“Why don’t we just keep her and give her to her rightful parents when we find them?” she asked. “If we find them, but I don’t have a problem with her here, she is a good child and I have grown fond of her.” Kendra smiled, it was hard not to like Shannon, she was cute and had the most adorable toothless smile.

“She has grown on me too.” She answered looking at the children, human or not, Shannon was a good child. ‘Alpha, there are people here to see you.’ A mind link came to Damien from his beta Andre. ‘Who are they?’ he asked. ‘The alpha and beta of Crescent Moon pack.’ Andre responded.

“Love I have to go and attend to something.” He told her as he got up. “Alright.” He left going to his office, he got in and found his beta and the visitors seated in his office. “Alpha Matthew, how are you?” he greeted as soon as he got in. “Alpha Damien, I am fine, how are you and the family?” asked the alpha.

“We are all doing well alpha, to what do I owe this visit?” asked Damien as he took his seat, alpha Matthew sighed. “Well, alpha, two days ago we heard of someone sneaking into my pack and stealing food. We thought it was rogues so kept a lookout, last night we caught her.”

The alpha told him, Damien nodded. “When we found her we also found out that she was not a rogue, when we interrogated her she would say a word, all she said was that we must let her go because we will also be in danger if we don’t. we left her in a cell after giving her food, hoping that she will tell us more this morning.”

The alpha continued as Damien kept on nodding showing that he was listening. “This morning when we went to look she was not there, but we found traces of blue dust in the cell.” Damien sat up straight, the part of blue dust seemed to have caught his attention. “Blue dust, are you sure?” he asked not believing what he was hearing.

“That is exactly the same look I had when I was told until I went and saw for myself. Indeed, it was blue dust.” The alpha answered “All the royal family members were killed as far as we know, so how did this she-wolf get the blue dust?” asked Damien, the blue dust was only used by the royal family.

It was dust that allowed them or gave them the ability to teleport from one place to the other.

This dust was a gift to them by one of the witches and that was long before the war. They did not normally use it, only when they really needed to. “That is what I am also wondering and hope to get some sort of from you since you were involved in the search and clearing of the bodies that time.” The alpha told him.

“Well, according to the guard that managed to survive the attack every royal was accounted for, he confirmed that they were all dead, but now that you mention this, I can’t be so sure, the man was disoriented and shocked. He might have said that so that we can stop showing all the bodies.” Damien thought.

This was all confusing and on top of that, the she-wolf disappeared. If she is a member of the royal family then she was telling the truth when she said that she was in danger, because to this day, no one had found anything about the vampires and witched that managed to escape.

“The only thing I can suggest now is for us to alert all the other packs to be on the lookout in case she appears again. If she is who we think she is then she really is in danger and needs our protection. Right now she doesn’t know who to trust.” Damien told then and alpha Matthew nodded in agreement.

“Alpha, how about we send people out looking for her?” suggests the beta of Crescent moon. “No, if we do that then she will think that she is being hunted and she will run then we will never find her,” Damien rejected that idea.

“We will take our leave now alpha, let us do as you said and see if it will get us the desired results.” Said alpha, Matthew. “Alright alpha, my beta will see you out.” They left and Andre showed them out before coming back to the office. “What do you think?” asked Damien.

“I think that we will be fools to look for her, I mean we all know that the royal family members are no different from witches in a way, they have abilities normal werewolves don’t and if she doesn’t want to be found then we won’t find her,” Andre told him.

“You are right, even this time I think she was caught by mistake and she will make sure that no one finds her again,” Damien said. “Anyway enough about that, how are my girls doing?” asked Andre, making Damien smile. “They are doing well and Austin is very protective of them.” Said Damien with a smile.

“That one is a true alpha, his action shows that he is a real protector and leader.” Andre praised. “You are right.” Said Damien with a smile. “Unlike someone, I know.” Andre teased. “What are you trying to say?” asked Damien amused. “That you gave your father grey hair growing up.” He said and they both laughed.

“Like you were any better! We were both mischievous and naughty.” They laughed. “Remember the time your father found us in the kitchen eating Mila’s birthday cake just because we could not wait for the next day?” Andre reminded and they laughed. “Mila, cried the whole night and we slept in the cells.” Said Damien still laughing.

“Your father was savage I tell you and mine just came and said goodnight,” Andre said laughing out loud.

“Now that is what I call savage, the man did not care that we were in a cell, all he cared about was wishing us a good night,” they continued sitting there reminiscing about their time growing up, they were laughing together and enjoying their time. Life was good for them and everything was going well.

They both had their mates and pups. The war ended and there was no sign of another starting soon. They could finally breath and enjoy life with those they loved. Their pack and family. On the other side Kendra fed the kids then bathe them for the night before putting them to bed.

She loved all three of them and now could not imagine her life without either one of them in it.
