Emily's POV

When I opened my eyes again, the first thing I noticed was light. Not bright sunlight, but a dull yellow light hanging from the ceiling. It hurt my eyes at first, and I blinked several times, trying to adjust. My head was heavy, my body sore, and my mouth felt dry like I had swallowed sand.

Then I realized something important.

My face was free.

The blindfold was gone.

I sucked in a sharp breath and turned my head slightly, taking in my surroundings. My eyes moved slowly, fear sitting deep in my chest, because even though I could see now, I knew I was still not safe.

My hands were still tied tightly behind my back. My wrists burned from the rope cutting into my skin. My legs were also bound, forcing me to sit awkwardly on a hard chair that dug into my thighs. I shifted a little, but it only made the ropes tighten.

Joe was standing a few steps away from me, leaning against a table like he had all the time in the world. He looked calm. Too calm. Like this was just another no

Chris’ POVI stood outside the council hall long after Lucas dismissed everyone. The echoes of his anger still rang in my ears. His voice had been cold and unforgiving. He had drawn a line so deep in the sand that anyone who crossed it would never return. And I understood why.Once again, Joe had taken Emily right under our noses. That failure sat heavy on my shoulders, on all of ours. But Lucas carried it like a wound that refused to close.I ran a hand through my hair and exhaled slowly. The pack was restless. I could feel it in the way the guards moved, in the whispers that died the moment I walked past. Fear had settled in, and fear always bred mistakes.I couldn’t let that happen.“Chris.”I turned to see Karen approaching. She looked tired. There was dried blood at the edge of her sleeve, and her movements were slower than usual.“You should be resting,” I said. She scoffed lightly. “You sound like Lucas.”I stepped closer. “You nearly tore Clarisse apart.”Her jaw tightened. “S

  • SOLD AS THE ALPHA KING'S PET    CHAPTER 112

Joe’s POVI knew that long before Emily ever touched the stone wall and made it glow. I felt it, the shift in the air, the pressure behind my eyes and the hum under my skin that told me something ancient had stirred.Emily was waking up.I stood in the observation room, hands clasped behind my back, staring through the one-way glass as she sat alone on her bed. Her shoulders were tense, her breathing uneven. She didn’t know she had done anything wrong yet. She didn’t know how close she was to crossing a line she couldn’t uncross.Good.Fear sharpened instinct. Instinct led to truth.“She did it without guidance,” one of the men behind me said carefully. “The candles, sir. No touch. No focus commands.”“I know,” I replied. My voice was calm, but inside, my mind was racing. That wasn’t supposed to happen yet.Emily was progressing faster than my projections. Faster than my research suggested she should. That meant one of two things: either her bloodline was stronger than expected… or e

Emily’s POVI didn’t know how many days had passed anymore.I sat on the cold floor of the room, my knees pulled to my chest, and my back against the wall. My wrists were no longer tied all the time, but the guards never left. Even when they stepped away, I knew they were close. Watching. Waiting.Joe wanted me afraid. He wanted me desperate. And he wanted me to believe I was alone.I closed my eyes and tried to picture Lucas’s face. The way his eyes softened when he looked at me. The way he held my hand like he was afraid I might disappear if he let go.“I’m still here,” I whispered to myself. “I’m still alive.”The door opened quietly.I tensed immediately.Joe walked in alone this time. No guards. No weapons in his hands. He looked calm, almost gentle, like he was visiting a friend instead of a prisoner. That scared me more than his anger ever did.“You didn’t finish your food,” he said, nodding toward the tray by the wall.“I wasn’t hungry,” I replied flatly.Joe sighed and pulled

Karen’s POVEver since Emily disappeared again, nothing felt normal. Guards walked around with tense faces. Servants whispered instead of talking freely. Even Chris had changed. He was quieter, more careful, like he was carrying guilt he couldn’t speak out loud. And me? I felt like I was slowly losing my mind.I sat up and rubbed my face, trying to push away the memories that kept coming back. Emily tied up. Emily crying. Emily being dragged away while I stood helpless. The thought made my stomach twist painfully.I hated myself for surviving when she hadn’t.I stood up and walked to the window, pulling the curtain aside. The sun was up, but it didn’t bring warmth. It only reminded me that time was moving forward while Emily was still gone. I clenched my fists.“I should have done more,” I whispered to myself. There was a knock on the door.I froze. For a moment, fear rushed through me. My mind jumped to a hundred terrible thoughts. Was it Lucas? A guard? Someone coming to accuse me o

  • SOLD AS THE ALPHA KING'S PET    CHAPTER 107

Emily POV The moment the door clicked shut behind Joe, I felt the tension in the room ease slightly. Not that I was safe—I knew better than to think that—but at least the immediate threat was gone. My hands were still sore from the ropes, my body ached, and my stomach felt uneasy from the force-feeding he had forced on me earlier. I slumped forward on the chair, trying to gather my thoughts and make sense of everything.I kept thinking about what Joe had said. Hidden power, ancestors, training, cooperation… it was a lot to take in. Part of me wanted to scream, to reject every word, and refuse to participate in anything he demanded. But another part of me—my survival instinct—knew I had no choice. I needed to stay alive, gather strength, and wait. Wait for Lucas. Wait for the chance to escape. Wait for someone to come and end this nightmare.I couldn’t stop replaying the image of his face as he force-fed me that morning. The way he had leaned over, speaking softly but firmly, command

  • SOLD AS THE ALPHA KING'S PET    CHAPTER 106

Emily POVThe air in the room felt heavy, almost suffocating. I was still trying to process everything that had happened since the wedding. The kidnapping, Joe, the fear, the helplessness—it was all too much. My body ached in ways I couldn’t even describe, and my mind kept replaying every terrifying moment over and over. I could still feel the prick in my arm, the blindfold covering my eyes, the fear in my chest when I realized I was powerless. Every time I thought of it, my hands trembled, and my heart pounded so hard I felt it in my throat.Even though I was back in the mansion and safe for now, the memory of Joe’s cruel words haunted me. “Only a fool would go back to the same place twice,” he had said. And the way he had held power over me… I felt a strange mix of anger, fear, and helplessness. I couldn’t understand why he wanted me alive, why he insisted on training me, why he had targeted me in the first place. My thoughts kept bouncing between him and Lucas, and the tension made
