Chapter 18: Cousin, Rachel Avyana Cabrera

“Sit down,” I said with a smile to Rachel as she entered the office.

Even though Rachel used to fight and oppress me, I didn’t harbor any anger towards her; maybe a little resentment, but that’s all. Rachel is still my cousin and my only family, apart from her parents.

I haven’t seen her for almost a year since she left where we used to live with her parents.

“You look great.” Rachel smiled at me.

I smiled.

I don’t know if Rachel is teasing again or if she just has nothing else to say because I don’t think I can hide my exasperation with what hasn’t happened in the past day, especially what happened earlier.

Even if I feel vexed towards Yuichi, I’m not that kind of person. My emotions were so fast earlier that I couldn’t think, and anger prevailed in my heart.

“You look great too,” I said with a smile.

Rachel is always beautiful. She is beautiful; her blond hair makes her more beautiful.
