Serena sat in a crouched position, arms securely wrapped around her legs as she stared blankly at the dungeon gate.

She had been blindfolded, leashed and thrown into the underground prison just after the Don gave the instruction, and Serena felt her blood roar in anger at the thought of it. She was now a slave, and at the mercy of her master, The cold heartless Mafia boss. It felt like a dream, yet it was as real and clear as day.

She looked around her in disgust which slowly metamorphosed into horror when she noticed objects that looked like bony human parts. She was grateful that she could remove the blindfold without qualms. The leash dangled lazily from her neck, and she slid it off after a minute of meddling with it.

She looked around again and her eyes acquainted well with the bones and skulls. At the horrid sight, a gasp escaped her lips and she clamped her mouth with her fingers when she heard movements outside the dungeon. What have these innocent people done to be murdered so horrendously in a place like this? What if they kill her too?

Tears welled her eyes as she slowly crawled to the obsolete but sturdy gate.

"Is anyone there?" She called out in a shrill voice "Please, let me out."

No one responded. Serena was certain that she heard slight movements. She thought of what to do. What if she hits the door? Perhaps, it would bring attention to her.

Taking a deep breath in, Serena proceeded towards the gate and hit a part with her elbow. The pain that shot through her arm made her hiss while recoiling on the ground. It was a dull sound, and she could swear that no one heard it.

Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours while Serena continually laid on the ground, quite destabilized. Her affected hand had swollen in the space of hours and they hurt like hell. She wished for death now, hoping that it took her very essence before the monster of a mafia boss returned.

He had not spared her a single glance, even as he instructed his men to throw her into the hellhole. He had been just how she imagined mafia bosses. Cold, dark, dangerous, ruthless, heartless, name it. What mystified her was his aura. How he walked, like he walked with the wind.

It was now dusk, and Serena heard movements again. The sounds were distinct until they started getting closer. It was a high pitched scream, and Serena guessed that the owner of the voice was probably being thrown into prison, just like her.

"Let me go! Let me out! I'm innocent! I never did it! Let. Me. Gooooo!"

Serena heard a thud that made her jerk, and she moved to the gate again, trying to see what was going on. The thud was accompanied by an uneasy silence.

"Make him conscious early. The Don won't like him dead before he is punished." A deep voice instructed.

"Yes sir." Firm voices replied in unison.

Serena crooked her head, trying without success to see them. When she heard foot steps approaching, indicating that the men were on their way out of the dungeon, she straightened up and mustered strength to talk loudly.

"Hello, if you can please listen to..." Serena was still talking when the men passed her dungeon gate, advancing towards the main gate as though a mouse just squeaked.

"Bloody hell," She swore, clutching her belly and sliding to the ground with a weary expression plastered on her pretty face. Not only did she feel pains from her throbbing and reddened hand, pangs of hunger also hit her like a tornado every now and then.

Did they plan to starve her to death? She thought as a lone tear slid down her cheek. Was the Don meting out punishment for something she did in the past? She doesn't even know him!

"Please," She muttered desolately "Get me out of here. Please..." She sniffed and wiped the tears off with her good hand "I promise to be of good behaviour. I'll..."

"If I were you, I'd stop talking and save my energy for later." Someone said from the corridor and Serena jolted up. It was the voice of a man, who must be the prison guard. She figured.

"Help me, please" She whispered "I'm hurt and... I need food."

"Sadly, I can't. The Don will have my head if I do." The unseen person curtly replied.

That should quench the thought of trying to get help from the invisible man, but she pressed on, determined to get out of the dungeon.

"Surely this is not where slaves stay, is it? I've done nothing to be punished like this. I need to speak with him!"

She heard him chuckle, then heard as clangs of keys worked on the gate. To her surprise, the guard opened the gate and shot a quizzical stare at her.

Serene thanked her stars inwardly and stood up in a heartbeat. Before she could move out, he entered the dungeon and banged the gate after him.

Serena's jaw was left hanging by his sudden action. She thought he was letting her out to go speak to the Don. What was happening?

"What are you doing?" She asked, bewildered.

The guard chucked again, a deep seated one that made revulsion crawl over Serena's body. He was sturdy, stared at her like she was some snack, taller than her but not as tall as most of the men she saw when being taken to the dungeon, looked like a newly recruited prison guard that was just fooling around. Serena hoped that was it, he was just fooling around, playing pranks. He'd let her out eventually.

"You're just as hot as you sound." He croaked.

Serena peered at her body, and shifted backwards. She was scantily dressed, and she blamed it on her captors. They must have draped her like this to make her look more appealing to potential buyers.

"Nothing is free, slave." He stared straight into her eye "You have to buy your way to freedom, and right now, I hold the keys. I..." He started circling her, his eyes still latched on her "Get to decide if you escape or not."

"If you're really desperate to leave, you'll do as I say. Strip out of what you're wearing and come suck my dick."

Serena remained glued to a spot, numb with shock. She had never seen anything like it before.

The guard smirked on seeing her stunned reaction, then he started unbuttoning and zipping down his trouser.

"I might need to force you," He mumbled, his lip between his teeth.

"Leave or I'll scream." She spat at him in disgust.

"Oh, really?" He raised a brow, and let his erected cock bounce out of its confinement "I'll like to see you try that. The don will hear you, and he will kill you for disturbing his peace. You want it the hard way or the easy one?"

Carmine's Pov She was beautiful. Even more beautiful than I remembered. Her red hair was loose around her shoulders. Her green eyes were wide with shock. She was wearing a white nightgown. She looked like an angel. But she was looking at me like I was the devil. She didn't move. She just stared at me through the glass. Her hand was on the latch. But she didn't open it. "Please," I said again. "Just a few minutes. That's all I ask." She unlocked the window and pushed it open. The night air rushed in. It was cold. But I didn't care. "What are you doing here?" Her voice was hard. Angry. But there was something else there too. Fear. "I came to see you. To explain." "Explain what? How you sold me? How you betrayed me?" "I know. I know what I did was wrong. But I've changed. I'm not the same man I was." She laughed. It was a bitter sound. "People don't change." "They do. I have. I came here to make things right." "By sneaking around the estate? By spying on me?" "I was trying t

Serena's Pov Something was wrong. I could feel it. The way Dimitrio avoided my eyes. The way he left the room when his phone rang. The way he whispered to Matteo in the hallway. He was keeping something from me. I waited two days before I confronted him. Two days of watching him pace. Two days of him coming to bed late and leaving early. Two days of silence. "Tell me what's going on," I said. We were in his study. He was reading a report. He didn't look up. "Nothing is going on." "Don't lie to me. I know something is wrong. You've been distant. Secretive." He set down the report. "I've been busy. There's a lot to deal with." "Busy with what? What are you hiding?" He looked at me. His face was tired. There were dark circles under his eyes. He hadn't been sleeping. "Sit down," he said. I didn't sit. I stood in front of his desk. My arms were crossed. "Just tell me." He sighed. "Carmine is in Rome." The words hit me like a slap. I felt my legs go weak. I grabbed the back o

  • SOLD TO THE RUTHLESS MAFIA LORD   Fear

Dimitrio's Pov I sent men to find Lucia the moment Serena told me about her mother's warning. Matteo handled the search personally. He had connections all over Rome. Informants in every neighborhood. If Lucia was still in the city, Matteo would find her. I also sent men to look for Carmine. Serena's ex-boyfriend. The man who had sold her. The man who had betrayed her with her own mother. He was out there somewhere. And if he was looking for Serena, I needed to find him first. But I didn't tell Serena about Carmine. Not yet. She had enough to deal with. Her mother. The announcement. The constant threats from Nadia and Giovanni. She didn't need to know that her ex-boyfriend was hunting her too. I would protect her from that. For now. The days after the announcement were strange. The estate had settled into an uneasy quiet. People were still talking. Still whispering. But no one dared to challenge me openly. Serena spent her days training. She was getting better. Faster. Stronger

  • SOLD TO THE RUTHLESS MAFIA LORD   Exposed Truth

Dimitrio's Pov Serena's face went pale. "Her mother," I repeated. I looked at Elena, who was still standing in the doorway. "Are you sure?" "She's waiting at the gate. She says her name is Lucia Marino. She's asking to see Miss Serena." I looked at Serena. She hadn't moved. She was sitting on the bed, frozen. Her hands were clenched in her lap. "You don't have to see her," I said. She didn't answer. "Serena." "I know." Her voice was quiet. "I just…I never thought she would come here." "What do you want to do?" She was quiet for a long moment. Then she looked at me. "I want to see her." "Are you sure?" "I need to know why she's here. What she wants." I nodded. "Then I'll come with you." "No. This is something I need to do alone." "Serena—" "Please, Dimitrio. This is my mother. My past. I need to face it on my own." I didn't like it. I didn't like the idea of her walking into a situation I couldn't control. But I also understood. She needed to do this. She needed to co

  • SOLD TO THE RUTHLESS MAFIA LORD   The Past Returns

Serena's Pov I was his queen. The words kept repeating in my head. I had stood in front of the entire family. I had worn the green silk gown. I had listened as Dimitrio declared me his equal. His partner. His queen-to-be. It felt like a dream. But it was real. All of it. I stood in the empty hall after the guests had gone. The room was still decorated. Flowers on the tables. Empty glasses. The remnants of the celebration. It had been beautiful. But it was over now. "You did well tonight," Matteo said. He had come up beside me quietly. "Thank you." "The council won't admit it, but you impressed them. They expected you to be weak. Timid. Instead, you stood there like you already owned the place." "I was terrified." "You hid it well." I looked at him. "What happens now? With Nadia? With Giovanni?" He was quiet for a moment. "Now things get dangerous. Giovanni won't accept this. He'll move faster. And Nadia won't stop until she's dead or you are." "That's comforting." "It's

  • SOLD TO THE RUTHLESS MAFIA LORD   Public Claim

Dimitrio's Pov Nadia was standing at the back of the room. Her dark hair was a mess. Her dress was wrinkled and dirty. She looked like she had crawled out of whatever hole she had been hiding in. But her eyes were bright. Burning with something I recognized. Hatred. She was staring at Serena. Not at me. At Serena. Like she was imagining all the ways she wanted to hurt her. I felt my jaw tighten. My hands clenched at my sides. "Dimitrio," Serena whispered beside me. I looked at her. She had gone pale. Her eyes were fixed on the same spot. "Stay here," I said. I started walking. The crowd parted around me. I could hear the whispers. The gasps. Everyone knew something was wrong. They could feel it in the air. Nadia didn't move. She just stood there. Watching me approach. A small smile played at the corner of her lips. I reached her. Close enough to see the dirt under her fingernails. The scratches on her arms. She had been hiding somewhere. Maybe for days. "What are you doing
