CHAPTER 12

Knox's POV

We all stared at her, not knowing what to say to the suggestion she just made. She’s been saying the same thing all along, and now she even starts barging into our conversation just to make it known that she doesn’t want to do anything with us. If this doesn’t hurt, I don’t know what does. But we can’t really blame her after all she has been going through in our hands.

“Barbie, don’t you have to be at school?” I asked her.

I scoffed, looking at me angrily.

“I just said I’m going to act like a mad person, and you don’t think I’m serious? You all should better stay away from me and leave me alone. I already told you I want to get out of here. Why won’t you just approve it?” she asked angrily.

I shook my head and looked at Adonis. He stood up and went close to her, listening.

“I know you’re mad at us for everything, but you have to calm down and give us some time to sort things out. I promise you, we’ll make it up to you.”

She pushed him away so hard that we never expected it.

“Stay the hell away from me. I don’t care what plans you have or whatever you want to do. All I want you to do is stay away from me. Don’t you understand? I hate you all. You think just promising me things will fix everything that you’ve done to me?”

Dante wanted to say something, but I stopped him. Even though he knows the reason why we should be nice to her, he still can’t stand her behavior now. It’s hard for us to accept that the person who has been so obedient to us is now so disobedient.

“What? You want to say something to me? Then go ahead and say it,” she fired at Dante. “Stop acting like you don’t care that I’m behaving this way. After all, I’m a bully, aren’t I?”

Adonis sighed.

“I think you already got all the things you asked for. Why do you insist on leaving this pack so much? You’ve been so obedient. Who is pushing you into doing things like this?”

It’s true that she has been obedient, and now we don’t even understand why she’s like this. There’s no way she has been reborn like us, right? Is that the reason why she’s like this? We’ve been trying to figure her out the past few days.

“Have you gone to see the room I was staying in before you gave me that room? You think that room is everything I want from you guys? I want your lives also. If you could kill yourselves for me, I would be very happy. And if you can’t, then don’t blame me for what is going to happen. I will make sure you end up killing yourselves after everything that I’ll do to you,” she threatened us and left the study.

We couldn’t say anything else as we watched her leave. Maybe we deserve everything that’s happening to us right now.

Dante moved closer to us.

“What is she talking about—the room she’s staying in? She has only been staying downstairs. That doesn’t mean that she stays in a bedroom, right?”

I shook my head.

“I don’t think it’s that simple. Since she’s saying it like this, why don’t we go and check it out? She might be on to something.”

I know it’s going to be hard for us to fix everything in this way. My brothers and I are very calm, and we can’t really do anything to her because she has suffered a lot of grievances in this life and in the past. Yes, we are reborn from the past life we have experienced, and we are back to make things right.

But it’s not going to be easy since she changed her mind. I’m not even sure if we are in the same planet as before. Did we come to an alternate timeline? She used to be so obedient, and we thought it would be easy to coax her into forgiving us.

It’s a lot to think about. After seeing everything she went through in the past life, we also went through a lot of hell, and we were betrayed and spied on after she died. We realized that she had been framed all along, and she had always been helping us even though we neglected her for a long time.

When we needed someone to stay with us the most after we got kicked out of our own pack, we couldn’t find Agatha anywhere. She was gone, and we didn’t know what was going on, but it seemed like she abandoned us. This is why we have been condoning the bullying behaviors of Autumn to Agatha. Even though she is bullying Agatha, we don’t really have much to say to her because we are here in this life to make everything up to her for all the things we put her through.

We asked one of the maids, who seemed to be scared, to show us where she stays in. We went to the room she’s supposed to be staying in, and we couldn’t believe what we were seeing. It was a room worse than a storage room—so small, and it had no ventilation. It also had only a quilt for her to sleep in and nothing at all in there, just her clothes. We saw the kind of place she has been living in for a very long time, and we suddenly realized that she has every single right to hate us and also not want to do anything with us again.

How could we have done this to her?

“This is where she has been staying, and we’ve been sleeping comfortably without caring about her. Do you think we can be able to fix anything in this life? She’s never going to forgive us at all,” I said to them.

Adonis shook his head.

“No, we have to make her forgive us no matter what. We still have time to fix things now. Right before she leaves, she is also going to be our mate. So we have to make sure that we keep her with us. If she leaves before discovering that she is our mate, she will never come back to us again.”

Dante didn’t say a word for a moment and continued to scan the place. Then he turned back to us.

“I’ve been thinking all day, and I could only come to this conclusion… is she also reborn? This is the only thing I can think of.”

Maybe my brother is right about what he said and she's also reborn. If that is so it's going to be more difficult for us to get her forgiveness at all.
