Adrian has not said a word to me since the meeting. I get that he is angry but we would not have gotten the deal if he was that rigid in his proposal. I mean, I came to his aid.

“Hey, I am sorry if I said anything that seems like was in opposition to you but I had to,” I say immediately after we get back to the house.

“You cannot go behind my back and pitch things we had not agreed to in the first place,” he says and I can clearly see rage in his eyes.

“I know that and I am sorry. It is just that desperate moments call for desperate measures.”

“You made me look bad and undermined my authority. I think you have forgotten who I really am to you,” he says as he comes closer to me and I honestly get scared. I do not think he can physically abuse me but I do not think I have ever seen him like this before.

“And who is that really? My boss, who secretly wants to fuck me?” I instantly regret those words immediately they come out of my mouth.
