CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN

“You know her?” Reed asked, bringing us down into the living room.

I had Tina in my arms, constantly baggering her with questions about her health and checking for any sign of injuries. She looked like she rolled through hell. There were bruises on her face and hands, and a couple of mud stains on her robe.

“Are you okay?” I’d asked.

“Yes,” she would say.

“You should put on some clothes,” Reed said.

Looking down at myself, I realised I had forgotten about wearing something. Shrugging the thought off, I tearfully asked, “What happened?”

She started off on the night of the attack. They were all in bed when everything went to hell.
