CHAPTER 54

              Her whole body ached and sored in spots that didn’t even make sense. Last night, drained her into nothing but a limp scarecrow, needing back support to even sit on her bed. Remanence still thrummed her veins, pulsing along her neck, the same line that his warm breath trailed before.

              She mustered some energy to open at least one eye and winched at the strong ray of sun beaming through joints of the balcony curtain. She jolted up to sit with a gasp and fumbled for her phone. Green, squarish digital letters beamed 10 am. She squealed and swivel to wake Mike up just to find his part of the bed empty. Cold, as if such creature never exist– Rumpelstiltskin, who scrammed off before the break of dawn, after stealing whatever the queen had to offer. 

“Hey, sleepyhead. I thought you wouldn’t wake up till 1 pm” Mike sarcasm seeped through the spea
