Chris and Valerie sat opposite each other. She switched on her top-of-the-line Apexio smartphone and held it at his face, showing him something on the screen.

“What?” he asked. She realized he hadn’t been paying attention to what she had been saying.

She shrugged. “The online post, your twin brother’s response. You know what, I will just read it for you then. Here it goes…I’m shocked, shocked, that someone would make such baseless allegations against me. I’ll make sure to address these ridiculous claims with the seriousness they deserve. I’m stunned. Truly. A whole narrative fabricated out of thin air, and I’m just supposed to sit here and take it. Valerie’s allegations are so credible, I’m surprised she didn’t win an award for creative story telling for crafting such an intricate web of lies,” she finished reading and dropped her phone on the table. She sighed heavily, feeling exhausted and angry at Chase’s tantrums.

“I cannot believe that guy. So first, he kidnapped me for a week

Valerie opened her eyes. She saw Gracie sitting at the corner of a white room. A beeping sound could be heard too, an irritant to her ears. Her senses came alive and she realized she was in a hospital.“Gracie?” she said as she tried to sit up straight. Her head spun, and she noticed she had a handcuff on her wrist that was clung to her bed. Her heart pounded.“Am I in handcuffs? Is this a hospital?” Valerie asked, her voice laced with panic. “Damn right it is,” Gracie said, still seated. “Geez! My head is killing me? How did you know I was here?” Valerie asked.“Followed the sound of betrayal, look where it led me. Apparently somebody had promised to seek help but they didn’t. They resorted to cocaine, again and that’s not even the worst part. Somehow they thought it was a good idea to drive at night, under the influence,” Gracie fumed. Valerie’s memory slowly came back to her. She recalled the tremors and loud voices, eventually prompting her to use the drugs again, and the

Valerie spread it smoothly over her dressing table surface with her index finger. She was almost drooling, feeling so much desire to just have it already. She lowered her face and sniffed over it, taking it in through her nose. During her first days she would sneeze, but now she had been so used to it, it was now a piece of cake. She let out a deep sigh of satisfaction, a groan of pleasure. Her whole world of misery started to fade away, and she stepped into a world of calm, serenity and peace. She felt lighter and happier as she threw herself on the bed. That’s how Valerie had been coping for the past three months. She had resorted to drugs to cope with her grief. It all started as just one simple way to just go through the night without crying. Just one time. One Friday evening as she tried to escape the loneliness of the mansion, she decided to go to a bar. She made a disguise of herself; shades, scarf, covered her hair and all so nobody would recognize her. Some dealer then appro

  • Sassy Orphan and The Twin CEOs    I'm shocked, SHOCKED!

The next morning, Chase had been walking up and down his office. For almost an hour, he had been waiting for Chris’ lawyer to come. However, his nightmare came alive when he took his phone. Chase’s eyes nearly popped out of his sockets as he saw a news headline on his phone. “In a shocking twist, recently convicted CEO Chris Malvins makes his now ‘wife’ Valerie Malvins the CEO of his company and legal owner of all his properties, almost a week after she was missing.”He threw himself on the couch. What the hell? Wife? It instantly became clear to him that he had just been tricked into releasing Valerie. But of course! Chris would have never given Chase his company, and he had been so stupid to think he would. He had been just so desperate to take over his company that it clouded his reasoning. Still, he could not comprehend how Valerie had suddenly become a wife to Chris, when hours before he was only a fiancée. As he was still in shock, a notification of a live video popped on h

  • Sassy Orphan and The Twin CEOs    A tricky exchange

Chris had asked his lawyer to process marriage documents for him and Valerie. The second Chase released Valerie, she would sign the papers, making her his legal spouse and Chris would hand over everything to her, as his wife. The next thing would be making a public announcement. Any other attempt of sabotage, Chase would be the obvious suspect. Chris was going to beat Chase at his own game. When Chase realized Valerie wasn’t going to leave Chris, he knew it was now a useless quest to torture her. Under different circumstances, Chase would have tortured her to death, and Chris would have no other choice as Chase was the closest thing he had to family. He was obviously never going to sign his company to some stranger. But then, Chris had told him he would only hand over the company to him once he sees Valerie and he actually believed that. For two more days he thought hard about it. He felt quite bitter at the thought of letting Valerie go, knowing very well he had to accept she was ne

Three days after, Chase drove to Michigan prison, to go spite his twin brother. Chris had been standing by the telephone, making several calls. The other prisoners who had visitors sat on the other side, talking to their visitors. Chris called Claire’s nanny. He had been glad to know that at least they were thriving. However Valerie had still not been found. Chris could barely eat since he had been thrown in prison. All he could do was watch his whole world crumbling down. He was clueless. Just barely two weeks before he had been in his best mood, thinking he had found his happy ever after. Him and Valerie had gotten engaged, they had their baby and everything just seemed perfect by then before Chase ruined it all.“That’s enough time, Mr CEO,” a prison guard said. Chris hung up and stepped away from the que. Just then he saw Chase waving his hand to him on the other side of the glass. He went closer and said, “What do you want?”“What, no! I just wanted to check you out, see how yo
