Chapter 9: Kieran

I was put in a room with Elias. We were given food, two beds, and two guards at the door. I told Elias to get some sleep. The man looks like he hasn’t slept in months and he probably hasn’t. I, however, can't sleep.

Unlike before when I couldn’t sleep because Samson was being loud and obsessive in my head, now I’m trying to figure out how to make sure that my mate decides to accept me. Samson isn’t prowling around in my head like before, but he isn’t exactly settled either.

I wanted to walk off the stress of the day, but when I opened the door, the guards had politely but firmly told me to return to my room. Since I’m sure Samson would try to find Reagan again, I do as they say and continue to pace.

“Are you okay, Alpha?” Elias says, sitting up in his bed and rubbing his eyes.

“How bad is the pack, Elias?” I ask him.

The silence in the room speaks volumes.
