24. "Not Blood-Related"

Third Person’s Point of View

Ethan's voice echoed through the room as he exclaimed, "What did you say? Harriet couldn't come home?!"

Alpha Connor, his father, stood in front of him, his face showing signs of exhaustion.

"The road was closed, Ethan. It was out of our control," he explained, his voice filled with weariness.

Ethan's eyes narrowed, his disapproving gaze fixed on his father. "No way. She's still with that awful rogue, isn't she?" he spat out, his anger evident.

"Ethan! That's enough!" Connor's voice rose, frustration evident in his tone. "I've had it with your accusations and disrespect!"

Ethan's anger flared even more. "Why, father? That rogue is a complete jerk. You have no idea what he's capable of... what he..."

But Ethan couldn't bring himself to say the words. The memory of what he had witnessed beneath the table during lunch was still fresh in his mind. He swallowed his frustration, his jaw clenched, and took a deep breath to calm himself.
