When Gabriel awoke he realized that they were on the road. He smiled when he glanced down and saw that his mate was still snuggled up on his chest sleeping soundly. He realized that he was in a horribly uncomfortable position, but he did not want to move for fear of disturbing his mate. 

His mate must have endured so much based on her injuries and to have run through the woods for hours. Based on what little he had overheard from the hunters, he could guess that she had been running since sometime last night. Gabriel had no idea what condition she had been in when she left out. He knew that she had to have had at least some of her injuries when she left.

Looking around the SUV Gabriel saw that almost everyone was asleep. The only ones that were awake were him, Marcus, and Axel. Poor Axel was driving, but you could tell that he was starting to show signs of
