Chapter 1: Kidnapped

First of all, I thank everyone for their patience and feedback. There are a few things I want to say before you dive in.

1: Kennedi is coming of age, so mature themes will arise.

2: If you think that such things don't suit you, please skip over the chapter or don't read it. The language is stronger now and I have a major character development issue surrounded by a mature theme.

3: Please don't give me one star ratings if you disagree with my writing choice. I'd rather you send me a private message to address why you dislike my choice.

4: Delete RBMA from your library and add it again to see edited chapters and the revised note. Twitter: JanileMiracle IG: MiracleJanile

5: Lastly, I will be finishing this story as quickly I can but I know that the first twelve chapters are edited as neatly as possible. There may be typos & errors after chapter 12, but I'll edit the entire book once I've finished writing it. I'm halfway done writing this book, but I have school & exams coming up.   **I'm done writing the main chapters and I am now editing them. Look forward to book 3!**

Thank you for reading! Don't forget to leave feedback.

Kennedi’s POV

I screamed but it was muffled due to the bag around my head; where was Elias? Can't he hear what's going on? Doesn't he sense an unknown presence?

Why are they doing this? Why are they taking me? Better yet, where are they taking me? I tried my best to scream and make as much noise as possible. What was taking him so long?

I was losing consciousness so the only thing I could think of to get Elias' attention was to create a firework from my finger. The more I moved, the darker it became and the more energy I lost.

I took one last breath and shot a firework from my hand. After I heard it sound off, the world blackened. I hoped that Elias got my message before it was too late.

~~

When I regained my consciousness, I was surrounded by nothing but pitch black darkness; it seemed that I was in a moving vehicle. I guessed from all of the humps and bumps I was experiencing. I tried to sit up, but I found that my hands were bound.

“Don’t cause trouble,” a voice said.

How did I not notice there was a person in here with me? Well, I mean of course. Someone had to be driving, but I couldn’t smell or see.

“Who are you? Why can’t I see?” I asked.

The man replied, “I’m Valkon Druce. Haven’t you ever heard of me?”

“No. Now why are my hands tied and why can’t I see? Don’t you know my pack will hunt you to the ends of the earth for me?”

“I don’t care if they do. By the time they find out where I held you, it’ll be too late. You’re bound because you’re powerful and I needed to seal your powers. Now as to why you can’t see, that’s because it’s dark and you’re blindfolded. Hold on, close your eyes,” he commanded.

I did as he said because I really wanted to see. I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders and when I opened my eyes, I was greeted by a man bathed in light. He must be Valkon.

“Are you Valkon?” I asked.

“Yes ma’am, I am. Are you sure you’ve never heard of me?” He asked.

“I’m pretty sure. Should I know who you are?” I asked.

“Absolutely! I instill fear in every creature alive, especially your kind. My name should be known in all realms,” he replied.

“And why is that?”

“Because I am the original vampire; the very first of my kind,” he answered proudly.

“Liar,” I said.

“You know, you’re not very nice for a kid. It’s the truth but if you don’t believe it, I could always show you,” he offered. He showed me his fangs.

“No thanks,” I said.

“Smart kid,” he said.

“So why do you want me? Why didn’t I sense you earlier? Did you guys do something to me? I remember seeing that lady and you before I blacked out.”

“I’ve already told you that I sealed your powers. You ask too many questions.”

I ignored his remark, “But what does that mean? When you said powers, I thought you meant..”

“I already know you’re part Elf. That’s the reason I’ve taken you so there’s no need for you to keep that to yourself,” he revealed.

“Well, answer me,” I demanded.

“You do know that I’m the one calling the shots, not you, right? Don’t demand things from me or you’ll be sorely disappointed,” he pouted.

“Whatever. Can’t you just tell me?”

“Alright, I’ll indulge you. I sealed every single power of yours. You should be groveling at my feet in gratitude because I could’ve snapped your neck at any given time, but instead, you’re still breathing,” Valkon stated.

He added, “Your wolf senses and your elf powers were sealed with dark magic so you can’t access them even if you wanted. You can’t reach your pack; they can’t reach you; you can’t call for help and they’ll never find you unless I want them to.”

“So basically I’m just a regular human right now?” I asked.

“That’s the gist of it,” he answered.

I sat in silence after he answered. How could he? He’s a monster— a monster that kept me alive.

“I hate you,” I said.

“I expected you to. I’ve never seen anyone fall in love with their kidnapper. Well, actually I have and I must say, it’s not a pretty sight when you have to cut their heads off and they’re still screaming out that they love you,” he shook his head in disgust of his memories.

“Dude, I’m a kid. Chill with the gore,” I said. “Where’s the lady?”

“Sorry, I forgot about that. She’s handling last minute preparations for the warehouse and ceremony,” he answered.

“Ceremony?”

“Something you shouldn’t worry yourself with, you little human,” he scolded me.

In the silence, I took the time to admire my kidnapper. His black hair dangled above his eyes and his round eyes mysteriously shown a centered red speck surrounded by a soft brown; his concave nose was stern and complemented his olive skin. His sharp fangs were hidden, but they were ironically pure.

“Do you have something you want to say, kid?” He asked.

“Nope, just getting a good picture of you in my mind,” I answered nonchalantly.

“I could compel you to forget, you know? But go ahead. I think it’s admirable of you to remember this scary but flawless face.”

“You’re the second most arrogant person I’ve ever met. Arrogance is ugly.”

“Who’s the first?” He joked, “What a mouth you have! My arrogance is beautiful; it just might be quite the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen.”

“Never seen a kidnapper act friendly with his hostage,” I whispered.

He sighed, “You’re just a kid; I’m not that heartless. Plus your powers are sealed so you can’t possibly hurt me. I just need you for a plan of mine and then I’ll let you go. I have no reason to be hostile with you. I actually think you’re interesting; you’ve been blessed by the gods even though you don’t realize it. They bestowed unto you an exorbitant amount of power that you can barely even utilize. You have no idea what that much power could do for someone.”

“Well then tell me. What exactly do you plan to do with it?” I questioned.

“I plan on using your powers to get rid of werewolves and elves for good. It’ll just be vampires when I’m done and then we’ll go on a rampage and kill an abundance of humans; we’ll keep some as slaves and blood bags and make them mate for survival. I’ll also use your powers to bring the gods to Earth and steal their power,” he said, “Well how does my plan sound?”

“Unbelievable,” I said.

“Such a smart ass kid,” he laughed.

"Language!"

He eyed me, "Are you seriously scolding me? I'm a million times older than you. Calm it, kiddo."
