Annie didn’t take the news lightly. Even from her facial expression, I could tell she hated to hear it. However, I didn’t know what else could be done. I had already agreed to allow Maggie to stay in my mansion. There was no way I could take that back.

“I know it might come as a shock to you…” I began to say.

“Of course it’s shocking!” Annie interrupted. “Are you saying that your ex-girlfriend and current wife would have to live in the same house?”

“Until she finds an apartment of hers…” I muttered.

Annie began to laugh hysterically. For once, I didn’t interrupt. I was the one seeking a favor from her now even though it was my house. Funny, isn’t it? That’s marriage. But wait, wasn’t our marriage on a contract basis? It wasn’t real.

“Are you just naive or plainly stupid?” Annie asked me calmly.

    Amelia drove me to the place where I was shooting my first scene. I had memorized my lines and even done practice with the other actors but I was still nervous. After all, I had never been involved in something so big like this. On the way, I saw Amelia keep glancing at me. “Focus on driving only. It's best for the safety of both of us,” I told her calmly. “I understand,” she replied. “However, I think you need to lighten up. It's your first shoot and I know you have high hopes for it. Amelia didn't know but today's shoot was the least of my concerns. I had been giving Julian an attitude since yesterday, following what Maggie had said.
