Lexie's POV:

The hotel lobby was quiet as Paul and I walked in, hand in hand. Every step with him grounded me back to the life I thought I had lost, and the only reason I was taking those steps myself was after insisting on walking inside by myself, for five minutes straight.

Jonas was already standing near the reception desk, stiff and silent. Katrine was standing beside him, but she kept her head bowed.

Her face was blotchy red, as if she had been crying herself hoarse and had run out of excuses. She didn’t meet my eyes.

The receptionist slid a key card across the marble counter toward us with a warm smile. “Room 608.”

Jonas gave a small nod and looked at me.

“You two can take that room, I just booked a new one for us.”

Then, without waiting for Katrine to protest, he grabbed her firmly by the wrist and led her toward the elevators.

She didn’t resist.

Paul exhaled quietly, his jaw relaxing slightly as he saw them disappear down the hallway.

“Come on, love.”

I followed him down

Lexie's POV:I stirred, blinking at the soft golden light pouring in through the sheer curtains. After looking around for a few moments, I realized that I had been pulled from my sleep by the grunts and snores of Paul, who was sleeping beside me.I turned on my side slowly, letting my eyes adjust as I looked at him.He was sprawled on his back, the blanket was barely covering his hips, one arm tossed over his chest while the other was hanging off the bed after I had wiggled out from his grasp some moments ago. His plump lips were parted slightly, and a gentle snore puffed from his mouth: soft and absolutely adorable.I bit back a laugh. He never used to snore before, but right now it seemed like he didn’t even care who heard him. The thought that he had started snoring as soon as he found out he was going to be a dad, tickled me more than I expected. Maybe, it was due to the fact that he was finally getting deep sleep after weeks away from home. My fingers reached up without perm

Lexie's POV:Paul’s jaw tightened like iron, the muscles in his face coiled with tension. I could see the shift in his mood, the weight in his silence.“It wasn’t an accident, Lexie…” He said finally, his voice low and firm. “Or a coincidence, either. We didn’t happen to run into our attackers that day, it was a planned setup.”I froze for a heartbeat. His words sent a bolt of panic straight through me.I whipped my head toward him, heart pounding. “Paul—are you saying… are you thinking Jonas had something to do with it?”His brows furrowed, and he looked down at me, startled. “What?”“I mean—” I rushed to explain, stumbling over my words, “I questioned him too when you didn’t return, and I thought I saw him there too. I was scared and quite desperate. But I’m telling you now, he didn’t do anything. He’s innocent. Paul, you have to believe me—”Paul’s brows lifted just slightly, but he shook his head. “No, Lexie. I don’t suspect Jonas.”I blinked. “You… don’t?”He took my hands i

Lexie's POV:Paul’s face softened into that boyish, excited expression that I knew and loved, one where love and warmth was practically pouring out of his eyes. His hands gently brushed over my cheek, like he was grounding himself in this moment.“Yesm”I said quietly, unable to stop my lips from curving into a smile. “It’s true.”The way his eyes lit up, I swear I could’ve lived in that light forever. For a second, he just stared at me like the world had stopped moving… and then he let out a breathy laugh, sweeping me into his arms with such joy that I barely had time to react. He twirled me gently, careful but giddy, and pressed a kiss to my forehead. The wind caught my hair as I laughed and clung to him, dizzy and overjoyed. “I love you so much, Lexie. So damn much.”I wanted to freeze that moment, bottle it so that I could cherish it for the rest of my life. By the time we came out of our little bubble of joy, something had changed. Katrine stood frozen, pale as a ghost, and J

Lexie's POV:“Enough, Paul!” I snapped, louder than I intended to, grabbing his arm to hold him back. My fingers curled around his wrist as I shook my head, flicking my gaze toward Katrine, begging him silently to stop. Her shoulders were stiff, her jaw tight, but her eyes told the truth. She was already fraying at the edges, and if Paul kept going, she would completely shatter… and might never recover again. But Paul was already past the point of mercy. He pried my hand off, slow and gentle, but his voice was cold steel. “I’m sorry, Lex. She needs to hear everything. Only then can we get past this thing once and for all.”His expression didn’t soften, if anything, he only became more determined. Katrine’s head snapped up as she crossed her arms across her chest, already getting in a defensive stance. “What now? More lies?”I bit my lip to stop myself from saying something that would make it worse. Katrine’s eyes flashed, she looked at all of us like we were her enemies. Like s

  • Scar : the rejected Luna   168. Rejected?

Lexie's POV:The moment Katrine spat out Abby’s name, both Paul and Jonas snapped their heads in her direction like she had just set the ground on fire. Jonas’s face paled, like he had been slapped. “Abby? What the hell does she have to do with you!?” His jaw was clenched tightly, glaring daggers at Katrine. But his voice wasn’t just angry, it sounded horrified… as if Katrine had brought up something dark that he didn't want to associate with her, or any of us.I noticed fist clench, realising that whatever was coming out of his mouth next wasn’t going to be pretty. But before he could explode, Paul jumped in.“Really?” Paul snapped, stepping in front of me protectively. “Are you going to trust Abby’s words over your own mate? Your own best friend?”Katrine’s eyes flicked to mine. And for just a second, I saw hesitation in her gaze. But the next moment, she straightened her spine, covering up the cracks in her confidence almost instantly and raised her chin. “Yes!”She declared
