LOGINChapter 22Milan, Italy.AlinaArcher shoots me a wide grin and I roll my eyes, pulling out a seat in front of him.He beckons on a waiter as I sit down, clutching his phone tightly. The way he’s grinning from ear to ear is shocking and mesmerizing at the same time.Archer isn’t the kind of man who likes to smile with all his teeth or does it ever reaches his eyes unless we’re talking about ourselves. But his smile today is quite very different and I’m a bit worried.“What would you like?” He asks when the waiter makes it to our table. My eyes dart between him and the young server, a curious smile forming on my lips. “A cannolo and a cup of tea is fine, thank you.”Archer clicks away on his phone as I say out my order.“What’s going on with you?” I ask as soon as the waiter leaves, dropping my bag on the table. He looks up at with another wide grin and shakes his head, leaning into the chair as he flicks his phone with his fingers. I rest my elbows on top of the table and fold the bac
Chapter 21Milan, Italy.AlinaI stare at the brown envelope in his hands before looking up at him with a raised brow.“What’s this?”“An invitation.”His response is cold and short and the irrational part of me is nagging at me to go ahead and leave but even if I do that, I doubt he’ll let me go so easily.“It sure does look like one. What invitation is it?” I ask, glancing down at my watch. I’m almost late for classes and if I don’t get going, I may not have to chance to see my professor one last time.Pulling my lips in between my teeth, I look up at him to find him already staring at me. His gaze is so intense that heat courses through my veins and shivers run down my spine at the same time.“Where are you headed?”“It’s none of your business.” I snap, shooting him a glare. “Are you going to tell me what invitation this is? I’m in a hurry,”When I think he’s going to respond, he doesn’t and tugs at my hand open instead, dropping the envelope in it. I stare at it for a while and d

Chapter 19: AlinaMilan, Italy.I rush down the stairs, hurrying towards the door to collect my order and ignoring the way Adrian is staring at me from the couch as I run out.Getting to the gate in no time, I pass the driver a sweet smile and confirm my order before snatching it from him and rushing back inside. My head collides with a wall and I wince, rubbing my forehead with my free hand. I don’t remember a wall being in the middle of the road.I glance up to inspect it and meet Adrian’s soft gaze on me. Sighing, I move away to the side and try to walk away from him but he shoots out a hand to stop me. I glance up at him, raising a quizzical brow.“What do you think you’re doing?” I question, placing my hand on my hip.“Why did you run out like that?”“It’s none of your business, Adrian. Now, move out of the way.” I say and proceed to leave when he stops me again, pulling me back by the elbow this time.“What is—““I need to show you something.” He cuts me short, holding me firmly
Chapter 18: AlinaMilan, Italy. He calls after me, walking briskly to close the distance between us but I don’t give him a chance. I stomp into the house and rush upstairs, wiping the tears away from my face and sniffing back a snot.“Alina, come on.” His voice rings through the walls of the house again, nearer this time. Before I know what’s happening, a hand clasp around my wrist and pulls me back into a hard body, hugging me tightly from behind.“Let me go.” I grit out, digging my nails into his arms to free myself from his grip.As expected, he doesn’t let go and instead, tightens his hold, placing a gentle kiss in the middle of my head. Another wave of anger crashes through me and I lift my knee, sending it flying into his leg. He hisses in pain and just as I think he’s going to let go, he hauls me up and leads us into the living room, setting me down on the couch, not letting me go.“I know you’re upset and don’t want to talk to me right now, but can I stay with you? Please.” H
Chapter 17: AlinaMilan, Italy.A quiet sniffle disturbs the room, a warm body pushing into me from behind, a weight on top of me presses into my waist, leaving me barely enough to breathe. My eyes snap open and I slowly glance down at my body to see a large arm circling me, fingers tightly clutching my shirt. I cock my head over my shoulder to get a glimpse of the creature snoring softly behind me.Clamping my lips shut in order to not wake him up, I try to wiggle my way out of his grip but it proves futile as he pulls me back into him, his arm crawling up my neck.A gasp leaves my lips, my eyes widening when I realize he’s trying to trap me in. I grab his hand and try to peel it off me, my heart racing rapidly when he tightens his grip.As if sensing my uneasiness, he lifts his hands off my body and moves back, the bed dipping with his movement. A soft sigh escapes my lips and I rise up to my feet, placing my palm on my chest to calm my nerves.I glance back at him and immediately r
