LOGAN’S POV

The next thing we heard were footsteps. Anna looked up at me in panic. I didn’t know where I was supposed to hide Anna. She looked up immediately, and I could feel her hands shake against the gates to the cell.

“Where am I going to hide?” he asked, with her eyes so wide that I could see the whites of it even in the dim light. “What are we going to do?”

“There’s a little balcony,” I said, immediately. The words were sounding like they were jumbled up, but I was sure it made sense to her somehow. I remembered touching it the first time they were bringing me in.

“Where?” she asked immediately.

“Along the hallway. Put your hands on the wall. You’ll find it.” The place I was telling her about was only small enough to hide someone like Anna. I watched her as she approached the place as quickly as she could, and the main gate was fully open. Part of the polluted and corrupt air of the main pack found its way in, and I looked away

LOGAN’S POVThere had been different factions that had been coming to see me. It was getting exhausting. It was tiring. The different people that had come, a few of them asking me to just surrender to Rowan. He was going to be Alpha anyway. It didn’t matter what I was going to do. They were advising me to beg Rowan for an easy death, according to them, things were only going to worse if I was still there when Selene finally returns. The both of us were going to be executed. It was frustrating that they all saw him as the loving uncle that did nothing but love his niece. He was taking the blame for everything that she had done. Asking them to punish him. Bowing before the Elders. Of course they were going to believe him, and sway with his words. They were practically obeying him now. I didn’t have to be outside the cell to know what was happening. This was my pack. The atmosphere had changed. The air was different. And on the other han

ANNA’S POVMy legs were shaky as I walked out of the servant quarters. I turned back one more time. It was hard to believe that this was my new home. The administration of the pack had changed. Sir Rowan was the one handling everything. He was playing the blame game, and putting up a pity party as he pretended to take responsibility for everything that Alpha Selene had done. But the fact was that she didn’t even do anything. How could the rest of the pack not see this? She had been ruling them all this time. And the only thing they could believe was whatever Sir Rowan was telling them?I wished that I could go back in time to tell Alpha Selene to never give her responsibilities over to Rowan. It was his plan all along. He wanted to take over the throne. And then, he was going to make Alana his heir. I didn’t even have a problem with the fact that I was now forced to wipe tables and wash toilets with the rest of the maids. At least I st

ELSIE’S POVIt couldn’t be. I had my ears pressed to the door. There was no way that she could be Selene. Was that the reason why she had so much in common with Ana? But how did it happen? I could feel it. It didn’t matter if Ana had been gone for a while. She was still my sister. And I could feel her anyway. Just the way I could feel her in Selene. The way she walked, the way she talked and the way she handled all her issues. Something was up, but I couldn’t even begin to fathom how it all happened. I had read about things like this in old mythology books. But it was mythology for a reason. At some point, it all seems to be fantasy. That still didn’t give a proper explanation for whatever was going on. I had read them time and time without number when souls were finding solace in the bodies of other people because their souls were taken away from time untimely. And Zach and I had taken Ana’s soul form her untimely. Maybe that was the reason wh

ANA’S POVLen’s face went from a small smile to a frown and then he looked at me in something that couldn’t be defined in anything but pain. I could see his claws slowly come out from his fingers. I was supposed to be scared. But for some reason, I couldn’t see a reason why I was supposed to be scared. I knew that in the state he was, he was capable of doing anything. But then, I couldn’t take any risks. And at the same time, I didn’t take a step back. I didn’t make any move to protect myself. I looked up at him. He had his chin up to the ceiling as he let out a painful howl. But that didn’t even last for a minute, the pain was replaced with something as animalistic. I was getting used to seeing that look on him. “Take it back,” he whispered, and I frowned. “No,” I said firmly, and he frowned again, as he took a step towards me. “If you have sold the pack to Elsie, I don't know what to think of you. You don't care about what happens to the people of the pack. You don't care what ha

ANA'S POV Elsie rolled the seal around her fingers. The joy on her face was pure. It was evident. She looked up at me, and I could see the glint in her eyes. If Len wasn't seeing that he was making a mistake, I was going to show him. If he wasn't seeing that he was making a mistake, I was seeing it. “You have to take it back from her, Len. You can't let her have important stuff like this. She's going to ruin things. Don't forget about the people that we have back there at the pack.”He shrugged, like it was none of his business. “As long as I'm here with you, Selene. Everything is fine. Everything is going to be fine.”There was nothing about the way he was saying it that made sense. Nothing was going to make me believe him at that point. I hated this possessive side of him. He looked at Elsie, and she blew kisses at him. “This wouldn't have been possible if not because of you. This seal would come in handy in the future.” She paused, as she looked at me. “Did I say future? It wou
