“You should close your mouth,” I told Luisa.
I was in the kitchen with her, and she and the other maids still wouldn't let me help. I told her about the Lycan King breaking the door and Luisa looked like she was about to shit her pants, her face looked ridiculously white like she had seen a ghost. I went on to tell her about what I had said to him.
“What!” she shrieked. The older maids glanced at us disapprovingly. But I ignored them.
“I know, I know I shouldn’t have said that but I was angry, “ I told her.
“Why? You should apologize, it's still a miracle he didn't rip your head out of your neck” she muttered the last part lowly but I heard her.
“I don’t know, I mean his mother said those things to me not him. I don't know” I told her truthfully.
She smiled at me.
It had been a week and the Lycan King hadn’t stopped in my room, I barely saw him at all. His mother didn’t look my way whenever I walked past her nor did she respond to my greetings. She always held her nose high in the air like I smelt bad or something equally revolting, but what the heck was I supposed to do? I didn't go out of my way not to talk with her either. The whole situation made me uncomfortable for some reason- no not his mother's behavior toward me but not hearing from the Lycan King or his whereabouts. My wolf instincts were still buzzing inside my head and she didn’t give any indication that she didn't feel the same, not that there was much evidence to show otherwise.Luisa stopped by to tell me the Lycan King was back and had asked me to join “them” for dinner. She handed me a box that had a black sequence dress and a pair of silver heels. Why would he buy me gifts when he wouldn't
Did you ever hear of rare moments when everything felt so right? when peace and calm washed over you, making all the negative emotions in the world seem so insignificant? that was how I felt when he surprised me by wrapping his hands over me. His woody cologne filled my nostrils, I was sure he could feel the rapid movement of my heart as I was pressed against him. His fingers trailed my back with intentionality, he was tracing patterns on my skin which sent shivers down my spine making me let out hard, sharp breaths. I buried my head in the cave of his neck and it was his turn to shiver. The air that filled the atmosphere had changed, replacing it with electricity that made it impossible to breathe correctly. It was as if his touch was making me live in a new life, a new place. We stayed like that for a while, holding each other in complete silence and it was strange, it was too comfortable, perfectly comfortable p, like nothing I'd e
Scar’s POVI watched her sleep from the reviewer's mirror, her light snores filled the car and a smile crept on my face. She looked adorable.I turned to see Alfred smiling weirdly at me.“What?” I scoffed.“Nothing, just wondering why you are staring at her” he smirked.I had known Alfred since we were five, his father had worked with mine and our friendship was born immediately, he was my best friend, I’d never tell him that of course.I ignored him and allowed my mind to wander off to so many things, I remembered the look on Arielle's face when she saw the amusement park, the little things made her happy. I had seen her around Cie, and their connection flowed naturally. I was sure she was going to be a great mother, that was why I was never letting her go.“Was that the only reason?” my wolf taunted me, his emotions when it came to Arielle were strong and p
Arielle's PovA little girl ran through the woods, and an older person whose face wasn't so clear was holding her hands firmly, the sound of their feet and breaths was all that was audible in the still night air. The girl had red hair tied in a bun with tears streaming down her face.“Mummy are we going to be alright” she asked worriedly when she noticed the tears on her mother’s cheeksHer mother laughed lightly, “Of course sweetie, everything will be just fine” They were hiding behind a huge tree trunk, and her mother placed her hand over the child's mouth.“Run” the mother told her child. The child shook her head, her eyes pleading with her mother not to leave her.The woman looked down at the child and gently caressed her cheek, “You must go now, sweetheart, please “ . The mother seemed like she was having an inward battle within
Scar's POVMy wolf was restless throughout the night, I couldn't sleep, and it kept wanting to see Arielle. When I gave in, I kept thinking of many excuses I could give if she asked why I was by her door in the middle of the night. I knocked twice and didn't get any response, maybe she was asleep. I noticed that she was a heavy sleeper. I turned to take my leave not wanting to be seen by anyone. It will be strange. Then I heard her voice, it came out low and tired. Was she talking to somebody? I knocked again, but no response followed so I turned the handle of the handle and was surprised that she hadn't locked it.She lay on her bed, and her red hair was scattered in all directions on top of her pillow. Her lips were open, they were moving and her chest rose up and down with hard breathing.“No, no, please” I heard her beg, tears were streaming down her golden skin as she tried to wake up from a
Scar's POVI had locked myself in the study when I got back home, keeping my pack safe was my priority and I had to do it at any cost, I was searching for another Lycan pack I could ally with. Alfred called from the door with a file from Lucas.I hurriedly went through it.Arielle Elizabeth O’Donnelle, red hair, blue eyes, and 5’5 tall, age; twenty-three. Adopted by the O’Donelle’s at five, it says that they had found her on their way back from a road trip lying unconscious, they took her in and when they found out she couldn't remember anything, they kept her. Started painting at seven and stopped painting at nine, but why? I had seen her paint, she was good at it. Why did she stop and when did she start again? Finished high school at sixteen( so did her adopted sister Zoey), along with Leon who was then her childhood friend and boyfriend, then a scholarship was granted for her by the college she attended, and
Arielle's POVStrong arms pulled me away from the cold and the dark lonely woods, back to the warm-up safety of their embrace. I didn’t fight them because as much as I wanted to I wasn’t in a state to do so right now. It was more than the lack of energy that made me give up fighting it, it was the fear of being hurt by whoever it was, or worse, by myself, that made me stop fighting. That and the fact that my whole body felt numb and useless.I didn’t want to move, I wanted to stay in this perfect moment where nothing could hurt me and everything was calm. I couldn’t tell if I was still dreaming, I had to be dreaming but I couldn’t help but wonder why the woods had suddenly become my room, or why I felt warm inside, I know nightmares didn’t make anyone feel that way, I couldn’t tell if I was losing my mind. My eyes fluttered open slowly, just enough to look at who was
Arielle's POVThe Nightmare expert was a tall skinny looking woman who seemed old and young at the same time. Her face was covered in the heaviest foundation, and her eyes had the smokiest eyeshadow above them. She wore a flowery chiffon kimono over a blue denim and white singlet. Her wild brown hair stood in all directions, her skin was as dark as her eyes and her hands and neck were adorned with weird-looking pieces of beads and she scared me.I've only ever seen those things in the movies. As soon as we sat down she took my ankle and looked closely at it.“It looks like you got into a fight with a tiger” she commented while examining my foot.I frowned. “Why would I fight a tiger?”She shook her head sadly like she felt sorry for me and turned to the lycan King.“Why do the females in this house have
