Back home, at last, nearing dinner time, Killian sent Mikel to rest while he prepared a quick dinner for them both. The dogs were already fed and a note from Kelsey was stuck on the fridge. It was his early times during his recovery, confined to a hospital bed with restraints that he failed to deduct what was real or not. He asked for the light to be kept on when he was still fearful that they will come to finish him off in the night. They were back. He didn't expect them back again so soon after the beating he endured earlier that day. The cell was dark but how can they see him? Killian felt like a thief in his own home but he had no one to blame but himself. Since he woke up from what he learned, a sedated sleep, he never left his room. The next morning both Kelsey and Mikel came to an abrupt halt at the kitchen entrance. Standing in his ranch clothes was Killian flipping pancakes and checking on the sausages on the stove. The morning was already warm and it wasn't 6:30 yet. Mikel was leaning on the paddock fence watching a ranch hand coax her horses into it. They needed some exercise and both Kelsey and Vincent were both excited to do the honors. Stormi was a champion in show jumping, and Kelsey was excited to train her. Apollo was a racer, and won a few races Dominic entered him in but he was simply a beloved horse.The hand was standing in the middle watching the horses get reacquainted with their new environment, Stormi was playfully sniffing the man while Apollo stood arrogantly appraising the grounds.
