Caroline’s

Point of View

The

teacher and I take our seats in the security office. She starts the footage

from when the incident began. I wait , my pulse racing as the video plays on

the monitor.

And as

Adrian described, I witness it all.

Liam

and the other kid—Ethan—stand in the play zone surrounded by bright

toys. Ethan talks waving his little hands. Liam looks uncomfortable ill at

ease, but Ethan continues. He moves closer trying to grab Liam's wrist.

Then,

it unfolds.

Ethan

moves in.

Liam

recoils, fear evident on his face. Ethan advances, and Liam, terrified, pushes

him away with both hands. Ethan loses his balance almost falling, before the

teacher hurries over to step in.

I let

out a breath clutching my purse tighter.

Liam had

spoken .

He

showed no aggression. He displayed no violence. He just felt afraid.

A sense

of remorse weighs on me.

I made

a wrong assessment of him.

I

allowed my worries to cloud my judgment, and now, my son believes I don't have

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 278

Caroline's Point of ViewThe calls start at seven in the morning.First, it's my lead designer, Sophia, her voice tight with panic. "Caroline, Northgate isn't returning our calls. The fabric order we placed last week? They're saying it's been indefinitely delayed."Then it's Marcus from production. "The silk shipment from our secondary supplier fell through. They're claiming supply chain issues, but this is the third vendor this week who suddenly can't fulfill our orders."By noon, I understand what's happening.Adrian isn't just cutting off my money. He's cutting off my lifeline. When I look at the broken vendor agreements that now hold no value I sit in my studio office surrounded by the discarded designs alongside the fabric swatches which are beyond my reach. The vendor agreements that were valuable to me at night now exist as worthless pieces

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 277

Adrian's Point of ViewThe scotch burns going down, but not nearly as much as my pride.I sit in my penthouse office, the city sprawling below me like a game board, and stare at the bank transfer notification on my laptop screen. Two and a half million dollars. Deposited into Caroline's account less than six hours after she threw me out of her life like yesterday's trash.Anonymous sender.Untraceable routing.Professional-grade financial laundering. There's only one person with the resources and the motivation to pull off something this sophisticated this quickly.Knoxx fucking Wayne.I drain the remainder of the scotch and slam the crystal glass on my mahogany desk. The sound echoes in the empty office, jarring and final. He thinks he's won. He thinks that his blood money can free Caroline, can

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 276

Caroline's Point of ViewAfter carrying Liam home on my back, the next morning seems odd, as if I were living out somebody else's life. At last, he fell asleep after having nightmares and was huddled in his bed, holding on to the bottom of my shirt as if he was afraid I would abandon him. His grasp hasn't relaxed since.I can still hear the screams in my mind. They were laced with fear, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to forget them. The bruises on wrists have now faded away, but the hurt behind them still remains. However, something else completely poisons the relief I should feel.Control.Adrian is in the Hill mansion kitchen ares – as always, looking sharp and perfect – poised in the kitchen doorframe, gaze concentrated on his phone. It is almost as if it were an instrument of war. A calm look is on his face, but it hides something else, so

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 275

Penelope’s Point of ViewI always knew there was something about Lorenzo. It wasn’t obvious. He never flaunted it. Never wore arrogance like cologne or tried to dominate a room. But it was there—in the way he stood still when others fidgeted. The way he never raised his voice, only his gaze. The way people paused when he walked past. Like something in him carried weight that couldn’t be seen but could absolutely be felt. And now I know why. It’s late when I come over.Bryan fell asleep at my place after movie night, and Lorenzo texted me to bring him home. When I arrive, the front door is unlocked—something he never does—but I don’t think much of it. I walk in carrying Bryan, his little arms draped around my shoulders, his breath warm against my neck. The house is quiet.Too quiet.&n

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 274

Caroline's Point of ViewTime isn’t moving. It’s dragging. Bleeding. Folding in on itself.Every tick of the clock feels like it’s cutting into my chest, a dull knife twisting deeper the longer we wait. I pace the length of the Hill mansion's study, my nails digging crescent moons into my palms. Adrian stands by the window, silent. Brooding. Calculating.Knoxx is crouched over his laptop, eyes unmoving, his fingers flying over the keys. His jaw is locked, the vein in his neck pulsing with restrained fury. I don’t think he’s blinked in the last ten minutes.I keep watching him.Because if I stop, my mind will go somewhere dark. Somewhere I can’t afford right now. Then his voice slices through the suffocating silence.“Got it.”I rush over to him, breath catching in my thr

  • Secret Billionaire Divorcee   Chapter 273

Knoxx’s Point of ViewThe mansion is full of noise—guards barking orders, security footage playing on loop, staff whispering in corners—but all I hear is the silence on the other end of my phone. That silence that came after Dolly hung up.That silence that shattered Caroline. It’s been hours since Liam disappeared. The power’s back on, but the air still feels suffocating. Thick with panic and something worse—dread. Like the walls of this place know something we don’t. Like the house is holding its breath along with the rest of us.Caroline hasn’t slept. She hasn’t eaten. She just keeps pacing the living room, her arms crossed tightly, her hair pulled up in a messy knot she probably doesn’t remember tying. Her eyes are rimmed red, but dry now. She’s past the tears. She’s in the stage wher
