~ Helen’s POV ~

I opened my eyes slowly and there he is again.

Sebastian.

Sitting right there beside me like he had no other place in the world he’d rather be.

My chest rose in a soft sigh. I'd only closed my eyes for a few minutes. A short nap, just to rest my body…..my curious mind. But even in sleep, questions haunted me. Thoughts twisted through the fog of recovery, looping endlessly: Who poisoned me? Why? What had I done?

But those were questions for later. First, I need to get out of here. Out of this white room, away from the rhythmic beeping of machines that reminded me I was still fragile. Still healing.

I glanced to my left. The machines were still hooked to me, the tubes tangled like vines around my body. Each beep steady, patient like it had all the time in the world.

Sebastian’s voice broke through my thoughts.

“Shit, I didn’t ask the doctor,” he muttered, mostly to himself. Then, noticing I was awake, his attention snapped back to me.

“You must be hungry, right?” he aske

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Deafening screams

~ Sebastian's POV ~I arrived home just as the golden rays of the setting sun spilled across the driveway. The sky brushed with streaks of soft orange and fading blue…..calm, like the end of a long day. The tires crunched gently against the interlocked stones as I slowed to a halt in front of the mansion. The moment the engine purred to a stop, I stepped out and adjusted the cuffs of my shirt, slightly tugging them down my wrists. The warm breeze teased my collar, but I barely felt it. As I stepped away from the car, the standby driver walked briskly over to take over.“Welcome, sir,” he greeted with a slight bow. Behind him, a few of the staff echoed the greeting from different corners.I gave a small wave of acknowledgment, already halfway up the steps to the front door when it suddenly hit me.The box.I stopped in my tracks and turned back around. “Bring in the box from the trunk,” I instructed.“Yes sir,” the driver replied swiftly. He turned and made his way to the car.My gaze

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    At ease

~ Sebastian's POV ~Watching them say goodbye….Ashley and Helen in the cutest way possible, made something stir inside me. Something soft. Something warm.Ashley had wrapped her arms around Helen like she never wanted to let go. And Helen, even in her weakened state, had managed to hold her just as tightly. The moment between them wasn't loud or dramatic, but it carried more weight than most conversations I’ve ever had. It’s wordless love…..pure and raw. They meant so much to each other. That much was clear. And it made me think: family, when held close, heals even the deepest wounds. As Ashley and I walked out of the hospital together, the silence between us wasn’t awkward…it was reflective. She seemed calmer now, visibly relieved after seeing Helen alive, speaking, and slowly recovering. Her steps were lighter, her expression no longer tense. And I could tell that part of her heart was patched just by that visit. At least she gets to have that relief. At least she knows her sister i

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Smart

~ Helen’s POV ~“Honestly, I don’t feel like eating anything,” I muttered, my eyes glued to the tray of vegetable salad in front of me like it was some unsolvable equation. The colors were vibrant…bright orange carrot slices, cucumber spirals, lettuce, tomatoes. It was the kind of plate that looked like a health advertisement. And yet… I felt nothing for it. My stomach was unsettled, my tongue dry, and my body weak. Even lifting a spoon felt like a chore I wasn’t ready for.“Hungry or not, you have to eat to gain strength,” Ashley said with that stubborn tone I knew too well. She didn’t even wait for my argument….she just picked up the fork like a soldier ready for war.I let out a long breath, leaning back slightly against the pillows. The hospital sheets rustled under me. The room smelled faintly of antiseptic and flowers…..someone must have sent them. Probably Sebastian. He wouldn’t say it, but I could feel his care in the little things.“I’m serious,” I said weakly, pushing the tr

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Just a man

~ Sebastian's POV ~At least she gets to eat. It’s the one relief I clung to as I stepped out of Helen’s room, leaving her to share some precious time with her sister. I had never seen her eyes shine quite like that before…tired, yes, but alive in a different kind of way. Ashley’s presence lit something in her that even my constant watch hadn’t been able to. It was humbling. And honestly? It made me smile. While they shared the warmth of family, I walked down the quiet hallway toward the doctor’s office, determined to ask about Helen’s food prescriptions. She still looked so frail. Her bones barely held her frame. Even when she smiled, it came with effort, like it took energy she didn't have.I wanted to make sure she’s eating right. If I could ease even a portion of her recovery, I’d do it without question. The doctor greeted me warmly when I entered her office again. She had a steady presence, a mix of calm professionalism and maternal instinct that somehow brought comfort.“She’ll

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Sweet as always

~ Helen's POV ~Ashley. The moment I saw her walk through that door, my heart stuttered. There she is….my little sister, my baby girl, my closest companion in this harsh world. Her eyes widened when she sees me, and I immediately tried to sit up straighter, hide the wires and machines, fake strength I didn’t really have. I didn’t want her to see me this way. Fragile. Hooked up. Vulnerable. But the moment her eyes locked with mine, I knew all pretense was useless.Tears welled up in her eyes like a dam that had been holding back for far too long. Then they spilled freely down her cheeks as she rushed to my bedside.“I’m sorry,” she said in a broken voice. Her shoulders trembled. Her hands reached for mine like they were afraid I’d vanish if she took too long.“No, no…” I whispered back quickly, shaking my head as tears streamed down my own face. “I should be the one apologizing.”For hiding the truth. For letting her worry. For pretending everything was fine when it clearly wasn’t.She

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Two souls

~ Sebastian’s POV ~Even in her weakness… she still wants to protect everyone else. It’s just like her always worrying about how others feel, even when she’s the one laying in a hospital bed, barely able to speak. Her voice might be hoarse, her strength faded, but that heart of hers? Still intact. Still burning with quiet fire.I reached down and gently parted her hair. Her strands were softer than I remembered, resting against her skin like a comforting veil. I leaned in closer, my voice dropping into a whisper meant only for her.“I’ll be right back.”She gave me a small smile. Weak, but it was there. Still beautiful. Still hers. Her lips barely curved, her eyes drooping with exhaustion, yet she managed that smile….for me. And it filled something in my chest I didn’t know was empty until now.I let myself linger a second longer, just drinking in her presence. Then I stood upright, gave her hand one last squeeze, and left the room with my heart a little lighter than before.Outside,
