~ Helen's POV ~

Daylight kissed my skin, gently waking me to its soft glow. The morning sun was already high in the sky—too high. A sudden sense of panic jolted through me. I reached out for my phone on the bedside table and tapped the screen.

Shit.

It was already past 7 a.m.

Why did I sleep so much?

My heart raced. I scrambled out of bed and hurried into the bathroom. I took a quick bath, barely giving the water time to warm up, then rushed back out and slipped into my work clothes. I didn’t even get the chance to arrange my bed or do the usual tidying.

Throwing my hair into a loose bun, I flew out of the cottage and sprinted toward the mansion.

Without a second thought, I climbed the stairs straight to Sebastian’s room. I hesitated briefly, then knocked on the door.

No response.

I twisted the handle and stepped in quietly.

The room was void of his presence.

He must have gone to the gym already.

I let out a sigh and walked into his closet. I pulled out a crisp black suit, a white dre

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Morning after

~ Sebastian's POV ~Daylight crept on my skin, waking me up to the harsh reality of the day….. Helen's in the ICU.The thought hit me the very moment my eyes opened, heavy and sharp like a blade pressing against my chest.I kicked out of bed, almost stumbling as my feet hit the floor. My movements were rushed, frantic, as though moving quickly would help me escape the pain I felt inside. I scrambled into the bathroom, splashing water on my face before stepping into the shower. The water rushed down my body, but nothing could wash away the reality that burned in my heart.I stepped out, dripping wet, and grabbed my towel. I dressed quickly, throwing on a casual suit with little care.Everything reminds me of her.I could barely think as I buttoned my shirt. She's not here to take out my suit. Her fragrance is void.I exhaled sharply and grabbed my phone and keys.I dashed out, heading downstairs for breakfast. It's 8:30am already. Time felt like it was rushing past me, taunting me for

~ Sebastian’s POV ~“Yes…yes… I did poison her,” Zara admitted. The words struck like thunder.Gasps erupted around the room. The housekeepers recoiled in shock, some covering their mouths, others whispering in disbelief.“Zara?” Lisa's voice came out in a stunned whisper, as if her breath had been knocked out of her.Zara trembled, her soaked figure collapsing further onto the cold floor. “I’m sorry… please, forgive me…” Her voice quivered, barely holding itself together. Her arms wrapped around her body, searching for warmth she didn’t deserve.I stared at her in silence….ice cold. My fists clenched tighter as my mind raced with fury and betrayal.Lisa stepped forward, her expression cracked with confusion and pain. “Why, Zara? Why?” she asked, her voice soft, aching.“I didn’t mean to,” Zara whimpered, her eyes streaming endlessly. “I’m sorry. I truly am.”Tears poured like a river down her cheeks, soaking her shirt just as much as the water had.I’d heard enough.“Call the cops.”

~ Sebastian’s POV ~The gardener? What the hell is she doing in the kitchen?Do flowers grow in the kitchen now?Damnit! My jaw clenched tightly as I leaned closer to the screen. My hands balled into fists as the tension in my chest grew unbearable. She tiptoed to the served dishes on the counter, glancing around like a coward, and then pulled out a small bottle. With the most disgustingly calm look on her face, she poured liquid into the plate.Shit! My breathing hitched. My heart pounded against my ribs, fury racing through my bloodstream like a wildfire. My eyes blazed at the screen, burning holes into it.How dare she?How dare she play innocent under this very roof? The door creaked open on the footage. Helen walked in, gentle and unsuspecting. And that witch of a gardener turned, wearing a warm smile like nothing was wrong… like she hadn’t just tried to murder someone. She handed the poisoned plate to my Helen. My Helen. No… no.I couldn’t watch another second.I slammed the spa

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    The gardener

~ Sebastian’s POV ~The mirror reflects myself. My face, my mess, my broken shelf of a being. I look at the man in the glass and don’t even recognize him.My shirt is stained. With her blood. Thick. Red. Cold. Her blood on me…..stuck to my chest like a reminder that I failed her.My heart bleeds more than my shirt.I don’t move. I don’t blink. I just keep staring. Like if I stare long enough, I’d wake up and realize this is all a dream. A cruel, twisted nightmare. But no.This is real.Helen is laying unconscious in the ICU. Still. Quiet. Lifeless. Her smiles…..gone.Her voice…silent. Her warmth all missing. My heart sinks again, deeper than before. In the twinkle of an eye, my whole world is placed on hold. Everything pauses. The house is still. Time has stopped. My hands tremble as I whisper to myself, to her, to whoever is listening.“Please hang in there, Helen… come back to me,” I say under my breath. But the words feel too small, too empty.I need to breathe. I need to clear my

~ Mena’s POV ~The doors flung open to Sebastian. His countenance more stained than his shirt. That bitch’s blood was all over it, ruining it completely. She’s worth nothing compared to how much that shirt costs, and yet, she had her pig blood all over it. Disgusting.“Where’s Mom and Dad?” I asked quickly, noticing they weren’t behind him.“They’re on their way,” Sebastian responded, voice low but firm. Still, something was laced in it… something I couldn’t place. She’s bewitched him, obviously. That’s why he’s walking around with the look of mourning on his face. And if anyone asks, who is he mourning? A pig. A curvy ass pig from the dirtiest slum known. My parents walked in moments later, their faces pale, though not as pale as Sebastian’s.“Thank goodness you’re back,” I said, walking up to them.“You guys need rest from all this…” I began, but stopped as Sebastian shot me a death stare. Not surprised. “Sebastian, go get rest,” my mom said softly. He nodded slightly and took the

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    They have no idea

~ Sebastian's POV ~Minutes passed, each one dragging like a blade over my chest, as the nurses and doctor hovered over her fragile body, their eyes darting between machines and monitors, voices low and technical.I stood behind the glass doors, heart pounding against my ribs like it was trying to break free. Every beep from those machines felt like a punch to my gut. Every movement they made over her felt like a reminder that she was slipping further from me.Please, Helen... breathe… Just breathe.“She will be okay, you should go have some rest.” My dad’s voice cut through my torment like a dull knife. He placed a hand on my shoulder, calm and composed….completely unaware of the storm raging inside me.Rest? How could he say that? How could he even suggest it?I can’t rest. Not while she’s unconscious. Not while her chest rises and falls with struggle. Not while the one person who carries my light is barely clinging to hers.My happiness is tied to her, woven into every breath she t
