~Helen's POV~

“What’s the point?” Mena sneered, her voice sharp enough to cut through steel.

Sebastian's brows drew together. “What’s wrong with you?” he asked, voice tight with curiosity but laced with growing frustration.

I stood still behind the bedroom door, half-curious, half-conflicted. I wanted to hear her response—goodness knows I did—but reminded myself it wasn’t my place. Whatever feud was brewing between them was none of my business. Still, the tension was magnetic, impossible to ignore.

~Helen's POV~Mrs. Hartley was overjoyed by the surprise. Tears of joy brimmed in her eyes—and somehow, mine too.The way her family and friends had shown up for her brought back memories I had tried to lock away. Memories of Aunt Mara. She was always there when we needed her. She treated Ashley and me like her very own. Even when life hadn’t been kind to her, she still stood by my mother’s side, never hesitating to help in any way she could. Aunt Mara wasn’t well-to-do, not by any stretch, but her heart was far richer than most. She was the one who got my mother the housekeeping job—that same job Mom used to support my father when things got hard. I remember one time, just days before her passing, Aunt Mara threw a small surprise party for Ashley. That was the last beautiful memory we had before death came knocking on our door again.Losing her shattered me. But nothing compared to the pain of losing both my parents. In just two years, I had buried them all—Mom, Dad, and Aunt Mara, l

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Where I was meant to fall

~ Helen’s POV ~Time moved like sand slipping through my fingers—minutes folding into hours before I even realized. Mr. Hartley had taken Mrs. Hartley out for a surprise lunch, giving us the perfect window to prepare for her celebration. The event planning team arrived in full swing—arms full of purple and pink decorations, their energy buzzing through the quiet mansion. The catering crew followed with trays of warm, fragrant dishes, their scents teasing the air.One of the decorators, a woman with kind eyes and a welcoming smile, walked up to me. “Have you set up any events before?”“Not officially,” I admitted, brushing my hair behind my ear. “But I’ve watched a ton of videos online. I have an idea of how it goes.”She chuckled. “Then let’s see you in action.”And so it began. As the furniture was cleared out and the grand hall emptied, I felt a tingle of excitement in my chest. I’d seen decorations like these on screens before, but seeing them in person—touching them, placing them

~Helen’s POV~His presence startled me-snapping breath out of my lungs. And there he was, taking out a bottle of water from the refrigerator. The bodycon short sleeve did me dirty. I felt a tingle in my little lady down there.I carefully placed the tray on the island, trying to catch my breath. His cologne filled the kitchen, carefully intensifying my tingling lady. His body. His scent. His posture, it got me dripping wet down there. Not again!I need to get out of here! But I couldn’t. I had to wait for Lisa’s return.Damnit!I bite my lips-trying to calm myself. What’s wrong with me?Come on Helen!Snap out of it.I shut my eyes in order to calm it all down.“Are you okay?” He asked. His voice deep and authoritative.Fuck! On hearing that voice of his, my tension doubled.I lost control of my sanity. He didn’t have to speak. He should have just walked out.I opened my eyes slowly to meeting his gaze. Though he was far from me, I could

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Loosing my sanity

~Helen’s POV~Just as I was about to finish my sentence, Mrs. Hartley called out to me.Her tune calm and soothing-not like yesterday.I turned to her swiftly, standing in front of Lisa, who was just right behind me.“Good morning ma’am.” Me and Lisa greeted in unison.“Morning!” She answered. “I’ll love to have a wheat cake for breakfast.” She said to Lisa.Lisa nodded and got to work, while I stood still waiting to hear why she called out to me.“A happy birthday to you ma’am.” Lisa said, turning her gaze from the counter to Mrs. Hartley once more. Why did she wish her?I thought wishing her was prohibited till the surprise party?“Thank you!” Mrs. Hartley appreciated with a warm smile.I shot Lisa a stare, questioning why she wished her in my head. She’s Lisa after all; definitely she must have her reasons for doing so.“Come with me, Helen.” Mrs. Hartley ordered and I obeyed without hesitation. As we walked out of the kitchen, I turned my head slightly back to the kitchen, with my

~Sebastian's POV~Finally, a smile touched that pretty face of hers.Crazy as it sounds—I’m attracted to a maid.Mom’s birthday is just a few hours away. Dad decided to host a party in her honor, and just like I’d planned, Helen was placed in charge of assisting the event design team. The idea was mine. Dad and Lisa both agreed.I wanted her close—close enough to feel her warmth. Close enough to pull her in and make her mine.I took the day off to observe the party preparations since Dad would be out distracting Mom, giving the team enough time to set everything up.Mena’s been useless since that little drama she pulled. From a plastered foot to a bandaged one—all for show. What the hell was she thinking lying on Helen like that? It’s like she’s got a personal vendetta against every maid assigned to her.First, there was Valerie. Mena nearly got her beaten with her constant condescension. Valerie was fired in a flash. Then Nora. She managed to handle Mena for nearly a year but still e
