Alpha Paul Spane
It would be fair to say that Alpha Paul Spane's good looks was stopping traffic. Every woman with a pulse was pausing in her tracks to take a look at him. It was obvious that none of them had seen a man as gorgeous as the man in front of them. Standing nearly seven feet tall and muscles cut to perfection, he was certainly a sight to behold. He walked past the women, giving them a brief smile. He was flattered by their attention. Yet, not at all surprised by their reaction. His appeal was known to everyone in and out of his world. Females would give anything to have him to lay with them for a few hours. It was not arrogance that made him think the way he did. It was simply the truth. The fact was that he could have any woman that he wanted. Well, almost any woman. The woman that he wanted more than anything in the world was out of reach for him. It frustrated him to no end.The one woman that he wanted and haunted his dreams was not his for the taking. Her hazel eyes and long hair followed him everywhere that he went. She was in his dreams and in his thoughts. Sometimes he felt that she was the air that he breathed. Yet, she belonged to another. He shook his head. There he was fantasizing about someone else's mate again. Enza Spane..even her name felt like it should be attached to his. But it wasn't attached to him. She had the last name Spane because she was his cousin's mate. Not just any cousin, but Andre. Andre was his best friend, beta and right hand. Yet, he could not control his feelings. It took everything in him to control himself around her.
He did not see her the same way that he saw other women. The women that he spent time with was for only two reasons. They were only to warm his bed and release his frustration. He wanted so much more from Enza He desired to claim Enza as his own. If she were his mate, she would be his first priority. Of course, he would bed other women, but she would never be lacking anything. He could not promise any woman fidelity. He saw the mate link as overrated. Only the weak men that were not used to getting females went crazy over the mate link thing. That could never be him. But Enza..there was something special about her. He would not call it love. Yet, just the thought of her made his pants tighten with desire. He could always remember her sweet scent. Some days the scent was stronger than others, but even the slightest whiff drove him crazy. Too many times he had wondered if she was his mate. Yet it was always something missing in the connection. It was almost like a reflection one would see in the mirror. Maybe a premonition of something he was going to feel, but that made no sense at all.He did not have the gift of foresight. No pure-bred werewolf did. He had often wondered if Enza could have more than one mate. That would explain so much. It would explain his attraction to her. It would also explain the intense jealousy that he felt whenever her mate touched her. He chuckled to himself. He was never one to believe in fairytales. The simple fact was that the Moon Goddess only gifted one mate to each werewolf. It was even extremely rare that she would gift someone a second chance mate. Yet, one would think that mates were given out a dime a dozen if they watched the sappy shows that women in his family chose to watch daily.
He needed a distraction. He even thought of bedding a human woman. Desperation was what he was feeling now. He had never considered a human woman. They were all so frail and covered in artificial scents. He craved a she wolf that made a werewolf work for their affections. No bed of a human woman would make him forget his attraction to his cousins mate. It would be best to concentrate on the reason why he was here. Hopefully, the shop would be open today. He did not want to spend another day in the human world. He picked up his pace to get to the store.
Breonna looked out the window. It was a bittersweet moment for her. This had been her home all of her life. She would take short vacations to visit family. Yet, she always returned back here. She touched the curtains and looked at the room. She knew every part of this room. She knew every corner and creek in the floor. She smiled when she thought of all of the times she and Enza had roamed around the room with their eyes closed. Both of them trying to find their way without bumping into a wall or hitting a toe. They were not always successful, but it provided them with hours of fun.She closed one of her suitcases and began to wrap the delicate figurines. Each one of them holding their own memories. She and Enza had a huge collection of the figurines. Enza had took hers when she had left to join with Andre. She picked up the glass figurine of a man with his daughter and a tear ran down her cheek. She remembered when her father had given it to her before he had died. She wondered what
Andre looked very confused. It was not that he did not believe what Fenris was saying. He never had seen any wolf afraid of a human before. " How can a human pose a threat to a werewolf? They do not even possess a fraction of our strength." Andre asked Fenris. Fenris looked at Andre for a moment. "It is very true that the strongest human would suffer greatly against te weakest wolf. Yet, a werewolf hunter is a different type of human." Fenris explained. "First of all a werewolf hunter has always been aware of our existence. Most humans have heard of us but feel that we are nothing more than myth or tales." Fenris said.Andre scratched his head and looked at his uncle. "That still does not change the fact that they are weaker in every way." Andre pointed out. "Unless there is some special power that they have, I do not see the need for worry," He said. He relaxed a bit. He felt that his uncle was more concerned than he needed to be. Fenris shook his head, "I have every right to worry,
AndreAnyone that had ever known Andre would never consider him a person that was at lost for words. Yet, this was one of those times that Andre was so shocked that he could not form a single sound. He looked as though he had seen a ghost or was caught in a dream that he could not wake up from. In this case, it would be a nightmare. He blinked and turned his gaze to his uncle. Human weaponry was words that werewolves did not even say. The consequences was deadly for any wolf even considering it. Andre was looking as if he would faint at any moment. He did not know much of human weaponry. He did know that any wolf found with human weapons of any sort would have to appear in front of the wolf council. A wolf found with them would be put to death. Not only the wolf using them, but anyone that was associated with the guilty wolf would be executed. Especially if they had reason to believe that they knew anything about it.He put his hand over his racing heart. He did not frighten easily, bu
Fenris let out a roar. He was pissed that he was taken down by such a cheap shot. He struggled to get back on his feet and the wolf came back down again, knocking him to the ground. There was blood coming from the side of back. He let out a string of curses. This wolf was fighting dirty. His eyes narrowed. He had fought this wolf before. This wolf was using every weakness he had against him. Fenris tried to sit up again. The wolf anticipated it and went for his head, snapping it to the back. Fenris was enraged. He let out a roar that shook all the trees. He did not care if anyone was watching. He had enough of this wolf and he was about to put this attack to a stop.He got to his feet as carefully and quickly as possible before this wolf launched another attack. He was making sure that he would not injure Paul worse than he already was. He did not bother to shift. He knew this wolf was no match for him. He did not want to kill it. He only wanted to stop the painful attacks. Their eyes
Fenris was never one to imagine anything. His senses were keen and he knew there was somebody that was near. The Fenris stood up with a ground rumbling growl. The growl that warned anyone that he knew of their presence and he was not going to back down. He knew that anyone that had ever seen him in battle would never challenge him outright. He looked down at Paul and then back to the woods. Any other time, he would have confronted whomever was spying on them. He could not leave Paul in his condition. Even though he was beyond pissed with his son, he knew that he was Alpha of the biggest pack in their territory. Chances were, whoever was spying on them was waiting for a chance to catch Paul alone. With Paul's injuries, there was no way that he could fight back. Fenris would never allow his son to be ambushed even if he was angry with him. He waited and watched for several minutes. Soon he could not sense or smell any other person but him and Paul. He breathed a sigh of relief. He look
FenrisFenris had took the short way back while Enza, Paul and Andre took care of the traitors. He had stoopped in the woods and watched the rest of the pack head back to Spane territory. A few of the pack glanced at him. They looked as though they wondered why he was standing there. He had stopped for a specific reason, nothing having to do with traitors. He stood patiently by the big row of trees that separated the Spane and Sullivan properties.Fenris was in his human form. He leaned against the largest tree, making himself comfortable. He did not care how long he had to wait. He was determined that he was going to wait for his son, the great Alpha Paul, to come around the corner of trees. Minutes later, he sensed him. As soon as he came around the corner, his father grabbed him. He punched him in the ribs causing a loud cracking noise that echoed through the woods. He cringed when he heard him yelp and his eyes misted with tears. Yet, this had to be done.He did not want to hurt hi
