Once I was on the ground and being towered over my them, I replied to Stella. “Hot damn.”
They were looking between us and didn’t speak until Stella was beside me. “Good morning. I am Travis and this is Kyle. We are your bodyguards for the next week.” Travis said. He had the bleach blonde hair.
“Or as long as you are here.” Kyle interrupted.
“Why do you say that?” I asked.
“Once you see what we have to offer, most don’t want to leave.” I didn’t miss the double meaning.
“So, Alpha Ethan didn’t bother coming down to greet me, huh?”
“I take it you are Grace, Alpha Dean’s daughter. That would make you, Stella. Beta Titus’s daughter.”
“Correct.” I said, as they turned to lead us to a car.
“Your luggage is in the trunk already. Please, come sit down.” Travis opened the door for us. It was a limo, so they got in with us in the back. “Sam is driving, another warrior in the pack. We are currently on pack lands, so the risk here is very minimal.”
“You didn’t answer my question.” I stated as I looked at Travis.
“Which was?” His eyes were full of amusement.
“Why didn’t Alpha Ethan bother to greet us?” I asked.
“Alpha Ethan had an urgent phone call he needed to take.”
“That’s a lie, but I don’t honestly care too much. Are you guys going to be walking around dressed in that the whole time?”
“And with a stick up your ass?” Stella chimed in.
“What would you prefer?” Kyle asked. They were both just sitting back, looking between us.
“Whatever makes you comfortable in the sun. I would think that would be quite uncomfortable on the beach.” I said.
“Besides, we don’t need to be walking around with clear bodyguards all week.” Stella mirrored my feelings towards this unfavorable situation.
“We are headed to the pack house. What do you want to do first?” Travis asked, avoiding answering the question.
“Go to the beach. I don’t want to do shit, but lay there all day.” I said as Stella nodded.
“Then we will change and head down there.” Travis confirmed.
“Do you guys have mates? They can come too.” I offered.
“We do not.” Kyle said as he adjusted himself in the seat.
“No girlfriends?” I asked.
“None.” Travis said this time.
“Okay.” I looked out the window.
“Can you guys relax? Pretend we have known each other for years? This will not work if you are walking around with a stick up your ass. The only reason we have a bodyguard is because our brothers are stupid. We have trained just as much as they have.” Stella looked at them pointedly.
“We can do that.” Travis nodded.
“Great. Start now.” Stella smiled at them.
“Have you girls been to the beach before?” Kyle asked quickly.
“Nope. This will be the first time. Are there cabanas we can rent?” Stella asked.
“We already got one reserved for the week for you. What else do you want to do while you are here?” Travis asked.
“What about Club 99?”
“You girls want to go clubbing?” Kyle asked. That seemed to get him to relax some. His lip moved slightly upward as he tried to hide his excitement.
“We do.” Stella was handling it all.
“Club 99 is Alpha Ethan’s newest project. However, you may not actually see him this week.”
“Why’s that?” I asked.
“Let me rephrase. You don’t want to see him. He is a hard ass and might kill your buzz if these are your plans.” Kyle shrugged his shoulders.
“Then I don’t need to meet him. It’s not like this pack and ours has anything riding on this. This isn’t a business visit.”
“Why did you come here?” Travis asked.
“We wanted to see the beach, and this was my brother’s compromise.” I shrugged.
We pulled into a castle like building. It was massive and looked like it was built in the 1800s. Stone covered it with ivy snaking up the walls. Flowers and trees covered the landscape with perfectly manicured shrubs.
“Welcome to Boone Valley Pack. This is our pack house. Yes, it is a castle and yes, we have renovated it. First floor is meeting rooms and what not. Kitchen and game room. The rest is separated into wings. The West wing is for guests. South wing is for underaged pack members that need a place to stay. The East wing is for the ranking wolves and their families while the North wing is for Alpha and his family. Each wing has multiple floors. You girls will be staying in the North Wing on the fourth floor.”
“Why not in the visitor wing?” I asked, confused.
“Higher class of visitors and regardless of what you say, there is a lot riding on your visit. Keeping you happy is important.” Kyle said.
“Why?” That surprised me.
“No idea. Just what Alpha Ethan said.” The limo pulled to a stop just in front of the double front doors.
“Must be so important that he couldn’t have bothered to meet me.” I said as I rolled my eyes and exited the limo. Travis grabbed my suitcase as Kyle took Stella’s.
“This place is huge, so follow me. You need to remember the code, otherwise you cannot enter the wing. Your personal visitor code is 5696. You will need to put that in for the elevator to take you to your floor.” Travis opened the elevator, and we got in.
“Please tell me you won’t be standing outside our rooms all night.” I said as the door closed.
“No. However, once your code is used in the elevator, it will send us an alert that you are on the move.”
“Wonderful.” The sarcasm was clear. Travis smirked.
“We are great. Don’t worry. By the end of this trip, we will be your best friend.”
“Or worst enemy.” I mumbled as the elevator dinged. Kyle snorted as we got out and walked down the hall.
“This is your room, Grace. Stella, you are down here.” Travis opened my room with my code. “Get unpacked and changed. Give us fifteen minutes to get changed and we will come get you to head to the beach. I’ll have the kitchen pack a picnic for us.”
“Will do.” I said as I walked in.
“Here are our phone numbers for you guys to put into your phone. Text us both your names so we can add you. If you need anything, night or day, text or call us,” Travis said as he handed me a paper.
“Thanks.” I said as he walked out and closed the door. The room was massive. King size bed with white silk sheets and a cream duvet. Beautiful white washed painted wood was used for all the furniture with a light grey walls. Exactly what I would expect from a place on the beach. The carpet was soft under my feet as I put my suitcase in my bed.It took me a few minutes to hang up my shirts and dresses and put my other clothes in the dresser drawers. There was a knock on my door as I put my bathroom stuff in the connecting bathroom. It was too white, but the grey marble was nice. Walking to the door, I opened it right as Stella was about to knock again. “You know my code.” I said. She was already in her bathing suit. She wore her yellow one with white dots and matching see-through cover. It looked like an oversized shirt. She had her beach bag packed and ready. “I know, but what if you were fucking Travis in here?” “HA!” That made me laugh. “Not my type.” Grabbing my suit, I went to
“That looks cool. You should tattoo that on your leg,” Stella said as she examined it.“You think?” I said sarcastically. “Today is not my day.” “Let’s go sit and have lunch.” Travis suggested. He helped me stand. It hurt to put pressure on my leg. “This fucking hurts and itches.” Travis put me on the chair. I thought, I have to admit, Stella was right. This would be a cool tattoo. “It probably will for the rest of the day. There is a cream we can put on it when we head back.” Travis said. “I can’t eat. You guys stay here and I am going to go back for the cream.” I said. “I’ll take you.” Travis said. “We can come...” Stella tried to stand. “No, you stay and enjoy. I just can’t stand this.” “You sure?” Stella looked torn, but her eyes kept going to my leg. “Yes. I am. Just come find me when you guys get back.” Travis helped me to the cart. It wasn’t a long walk for them, but I was struggling to breathe. “Travis, drive fast.” I said. He looked over at me and his eyes widened
Putting my phone down, I got up to shower. The water stung a little, however; it felt good. I had just put on jean shorts and a Nirvana T-shirt when my door opened. “Are you close to being ready?” Stella asked. “Yeah, did you tell the guys our plan?” Picking up my phone, I read a message from Evan. Evan: they aren’t supposed to feel good. Me: thanks for the concern “Yeah, I just need to do my hair real quick.” I said to Stella as I tossed my phone down. It took me a few minutes to blow-dry it and apply a light layer of makeup. Overall, I was satisfied with my appearance. “Great! Let’s go. I’m ready for a drink!” Stella was wearing a short miniskirt and crop top. She looked like a model, but I was just happy I still had my leg. Grabbing my purse, we walked out and went to the elevator. Pushing in our code, we waited for it to get to us. The guys were waiting by the door in jeans and a t-shirt. “You girls take forever!” Kyle laughed. “I was drugged.” Was my excuse. We walked ou
Ethan just looked at me as the officer walked over to us. “Stand up,” He demanded. We did as he asked and he uncuffed us. “The server said you guys weren’t even the start of it, but just got caught up in this mess. Regardless, you are free to go.” “Thank you, office.” I muttered as I walked over to Stella and avoided Ethan’s eyes. “Are you okay?” I asked her. “This should be good by tomorrow. Some butterfly tape and I’m good.” Stella smiled. “Listen, Ethan is here.” I whispered. Her jaw dropped as I felt him walk around the ambulance. My skin literally tingled without even touching him. “I assume you are Grace and Stella?” Travis and Kyle were behind him, looking worried. “I’m Grace.” Straightening my back, I turned to face him. It took everything in me to keep my body still. “And you are feeling better from the jellyfish?” His eyes didn’t leave mine. “Yes.” Mostly the truth. “Good. Kyle, take Stella to the house. Travis and Grace will ride with me,” Ethan said and walked aw
However, I didn’t hear the elevator. The salad wasn’t cutting it. What I wanted were brownies. Putting my salad bowl in the sink, I began looking for the stuff I needed. I didn’t want to use a mix, so I pulled out all the ingredients. Turning the oven on to 375 degrees, I started mixing.“What are you cooking?” Travis walked through the doors. “SHIT, you scared the crap out of me. I swear, you guys walk around like ghost.” “Ghost don’t walk.” He smirked as he sat down at the bar on the opposite end. “Can’t sleep?” I asked as I mixed in the coco. “Nope. Today has been eventful.” “Tell me about it. I’m sorry if you are in trouble.” “It’s not your fault, and I’m not in trouble. He will probably push me harder, maybe throw in an extra punch, but it’s nothing I can’t handle. “ “We really didn’t start any of it. The guys threw a bottle that hit Stella.” Mixing the wet and the dry to get her was getting difficult. “Need help?” Travis asked, standing up. Sliding the bowl over to him,
“What’s up?” “Just went for a run and found this.” I shrugged. “Come watch.” Travis walked us over to Ethan. He didn’t look at or acknowledged me at all. “We are working on defensive attacks.” “I see that.” I started looking at everyone’s form. Some were leaving the left leg open. “ENOUGH!” Ethan yelled. Everyone stopped and walked over to us. “Who’s the babe?” A younger guy walked up to me. He looked like the type of guy that thought he was a gift for women. “Did y-” Travis started, but I held up my hand, silencing him. “My name is Grace.” I said as he looked me up and down. “Damn, Grace. You are good looking. Do you need a guy to show you around?” “Maybe, but you are not it.” I said, baiting him. “Excuse me?” He looked taken aback. “Your looks might get you somewhere with some, but I’m afraid you don’t do it for me.” “I am all man, I can assure you.” He walked up to me. Travis had to put a hand on his chest so he didn’t touch me. “I’ll make you a deal. Fight me and if
“Yes, sir...” I said, unsure of what had just happened. Travis stood up, and I followed his lead.“Please shut the door.” Alpha John said as I left. “I guess go get dressed. I’ll pack breakfast.” Travis said. “I’m sorry you are in this position.” I said. I put my hand on his arm as Ethan came around the corner. His eyes locked on my hand. “Get changed.” He growled and grabbed my arm, pulling me towards the elevator. Punching in the code, I ripped my arm out of his. “Get off me.” I growled back. The door opened, and he shoved me in. “The fuck is your problem?” I yelled when the doors shut. “Are you fucking Travis?” He pushed me against the wall. “Is that a serious question?” “Answer it!” “You would fucking feel it if I was, dumbass.” Shoving him away from me, the doors opened up. I ran down the hall and to my room. I knew he was following me, but I was pissed. I was able to slam my door shut, or maybe he just allowed me to, but either way, I was alone. How could the Moon Godd
“I’m going to go swimming with Stella and Conner. At least they like me.” Kyle got up to go swim as we busted up laughing.“Did you know Alpha James and his son and betas are coming tomorrow?” Callie asked me. “I did not! I haven’t seen them in ages!” I was actually really excited. “Dad said they had some business.” Callie got a twinkle in her eye. “His son, Rif, is hot as fuck.” Natalia said. “Yes, he is.” I agreed. It was funny. Now I found Ethan. No one was as good looking as they once were. “I’m going to just go...” Travis sighed. He walked over to Ethan and Damon. “Do you know them?” Callie asked. “I do. His Luna was like my second mother. Rif was another brother to me.” “When was the last time you saw them?” Natalia asked. “Been a few years. Things got dark when his Luna died.” I said as I rolled over to see them and drink my drink. We were in a circle, so when we were on our stomachs, we could see each other.Alpha James’s luna died in a freak accident. They were driv
