Chapter 3

Once I was on the ground and being towered over my them, I replied to Stella. “Hot damn.”

They were looking between us and didn’t speak until Stella was beside me. “Good morning. I am Travis and this is Kyle. We are your bodyguards for the next week.” Travis said. He had the bleach blonde hair.

“Or as long as you are here.” Kyle interrupted.

“Why do you say that?” I asked.

“Once you see what we have to offer, most don’t want to leave.” I didn’t miss the double meaning.

“So, Alpha Ethan didn’t bother coming down to greet me, huh?”

“I take it you are Grace, Alpha Dean’s daughter. That would make you, Stella. Beta Titus’s daughter.”

“Correct.” I said, as they turned to lead us to a car.

“Your luggage is in the trunk already. Please, come sit down.” Travis opened the door for us. It was a limo, so they got in with us in the back. “Sam is driving, another warrior in the pack. We are currently on pack lands, so the risk here is very minimal.”

“You didn’t answer my question.” I stated as I looked at Travis.

“Which was?” His eyes were full of amusement.

“Why didn’t Alpha Ethan bother to greet us?” I asked.

“Alpha Ethan had an urgent phone call he needed to take.”

“That’s a lie, but I don’t honestly care too much. Are you guys going to be walking around dressed in that the whole time?”

“And with a stick up your ass?” Stella chimed in.

“What would you prefer?” Kyle asked. They were both just sitting back, looking between us.

“Whatever makes you comfortable in the sun. I would think that would be quite uncomfortable on the beach.” I said.

“Besides, we don’t need to be walking around with clear bodyguards all week.” Stella mirrored my feelings towards this unfavorable situation.

“We are headed to the pack house. What do you want to do first?” Travis asked, avoiding answering the question.

“Go to the beach. I don’t want to do shit, but lay there all day.” I said as Stella nodded.

“Then we will change and head down there.” Travis confirmed.

“Do you guys have mates? They can come too.” I offered.

“We do not.” Kyle said as he adjusted himself in the seat.

 “No girlfriends?” I asked.

 “None.” Travis said this time.

“Okay.” I looked out the window.

“Can you guys relax? Pretend we have known each other for years? This will not work if you are walking around with a stick up your ass. The only reason we have a bodyguard is because our brothers are stupid. We have trained just as much as they have.” Stella looked at them pointedly.

“We can do that.” Travis nodded.

“Great. Start now.” Stella smiled at them.

“Have you girls been to the beach before?” Kyle asked quickly.

“Nope. This will be the first time. Are there cabanas we can rent?” Stella asked.

“We already got one reserved for the week for you. What else do you want to do while you are here?” Travis asked.

 “What about Club 99?”

“You girls want to go clubbing?” Kyle asked. That seemed to get him to relax some. His lip moved slightly upward as he tried to hide his excitement.

“We do.” Stella was handling it all.

“Club 99 is Alpha Ethan’s newest project. However, you may not actually see him this week.”

 “Why’s that?” I asked.

“Let me rephrase. You don’t want to see him. He is a hard ass and might kill your buzz if these are your plans.” Kyle shrugged his shoulders.

“Then I don’t need to meet him. It’s not like this pack and ours has anything riding on this. This isn’t a business visit.”

“Why did you come here?” Travis asked.

“We wanted to see the beach, and this was my brother’s compromise.” I shrugged.

We pulled into a castle like building. It was massive and looked like it was built in the 1800s. Stone covered it with ivy snaking up the walls. Flowers and trees covered the landscape with perfectly manicured shrubs.

“Welcome to Boone Valley Pack. This is our pack house. Yes, it is a castle and yes, we have renovated it. First floor is meeting rooms and what not. Kitchen and game room. The rest is separated into wings. The West wing is for guests. South wing is for underaged pack members that need a place to stay. The East wing is for the ranking wolves and their families while the North wing is for Alpha and his family. Each wing has multiple floors. You girls will be staying in the North Wing on the fourth floor.”

“Why not in the visitor wing?” I asked, confused.

“Higher class of visitors and regardless of what you say, there is a lot riding on your visit. Keeping you happy is important.” Kyle said.

 “Why?” That surprised me.

“No idea. Just what Alpha Ethan said.” The limo pulled to a stop just in front of the double front doors.

“Must be so important that he couldn’t have bothered to meet me.” I said as I rolled my eyes and exited the limo. Travis grabbed my suitcase as Kyle took Stella’s.

“This place is huge, so follow me. You need to remember the code, otherwise you cannot enter the wing. Your personal visitor code is 5696. You will need to put that in for the elevator to take you to your floor.” Travis opened the elevator, and we got in.

“Please tell me you won’t be standing outside our rooms all night.” I said as the door closed.

“No. However, once your code is used in the elevator, it will send us an alert that you are on the move.”

“Wonderful.” The sarcasm was clear. Travis smirked.

“We are great. Don’t worry. By the end of this trip, we will be your best friend.”

“Or worst enemy.” I mumbled as the elevator dinged. Kyle snorted as we got out and walked down the hall.

“This is your room, Grace. Stella, you are down here.” Travis opened my room with my code. “Get unpacked and changed. Give us fifteen minutes to get changed and we will come get you to head to the beach. I’ll have the kitchen pack a picnic for us.”

“Will do.” I said as I walked in.

“Here are our phone numbers for you guys to put into your phone. Text us both your names so we can add you. If you need anything, night or day, text or call us,” Travis said as he handed me a paper.
