003 The Gelid Tyrant

"Bang!"

Scarlett gasped when her head bumped into something hard, and the sharp pain helped her open the heavy eyelids that she was having trouble lifting.

The first thing that crashed into her unfocused eyes was a dark red carpet--

She was dragged by a woman along a long, empty hallway.

"Let go..." Scarlett mumbled, but her faint protest was ignored. She was so sure she would die, so how come she was walking in a strange place with no wounds on her body?

Her voice was still lost, and her limbs were weak as rubber. But the sharp pain in her chest was gone, as well as those on her ribs, legs, and all the wounds she got from the car accident.

Replaced by an uncontrollable fire that was boiling her blood.

She had only tasted this fire once in her life as she recognized it with fear -- Three years ago when she was drugged at her own engagement party!

"It's okay, you are just drunk. All you need is a little rest..." The woman turned and attended to her with a soft, sweet voice.

Scarlett's pupils shrank as fear grasped her when she heard that overly sweet voice of her dear sister, the one who ruined her life and left her to die!

"Laura?!" Scarlett swung her arm with an energy she didn't know she had and broke out of Laura's grab.

"It's okay, Scar," Laura looked shocked but then put on an even sweeter smile, "I got you a room. Rest for a while, and I'll come to get you when the party is over. Everything will be fine..."

Saying the most caring words, Laura did the darkest thing and pushed Scarlett into a dark room. Laura closed the door behind Scarlett as Scarlett fell to the ground.

"Finally she's here!" A guy's smirk rose in the dark quiet room, and then someone turned on the light.

Scarlett closed her eyes when the sudden light gave her eyes a burn.

"Wow, I didn't expect her to be so pretty!" Another guy laughed and bent over to check on Scarlett, turning her head left and right with two fingers as if checking some purchased goods, "This job is totally worth it!"

"Remember to take photos, or we don't get paid!" Another vicious voice rose.

Scarlett's heart sank.

Cold sweat broke out on her back as her sight lost focus again and desperation took over her -- for whatever reason, she was now on the night of her engagement party! The beginning of her nightmare!

The vivid memory of her death was still burning deep in her soul. No way all those three years of painful memories were just a dream under drugs!

She must have reincarnated!

She couldn't believe that she reincarnated and woke up as her-three-year-younger-self!

While her chest was filled with shock and gratitude for an extra life, Scarlett couldn't help but think greedily--

Couldn't God put her even one day earlier in her miserable life?!

Why did she have to come back to the exact moment when her life was ruined?! Right now her reincarnation looked more like a repeating nightmare than a redemption.

"Who wants to go first?" They grabbed Scarlett's wrists and ankles before throwing her into bed. Even such a dirty touch made Scarlett's skin tingle, and a moan escaped her lips when the bed swallowed her body.

Her heart fell. The drug not only put her half-conscious but also increased her sexual lust, all because Laura wanted her slutty pictures to destroy her and manipulate her better.

"No..." Murmuring, Scarlett tried to curl up, but could barely move her limbs.

She couldn't remember anything after this night in her last life. Definitely not this part.

Laura said she went into the wrong room and had sex with Everett Dunn by accident, but she could barely move at this point, not to mention she was thrown into the room by Laura this time.

How could she end up with Everett Dunn last time?!

The only silver lining in all these was that Scarlett was sure she would not ruin Everett's life again, because Laura didn't even give her the chance to go to the wrong room this time.

"I'll go!" One guy pulled Scarlett's ankle and dragged her half off the bed, standing between her legs with a greedy smirk, "Heard she's still a virgin!"

"No, I'll go first!" The guy laughed when he was pulled to the side by his friend, "I don't want to exchange my AIDS strain with you!"

Scarlett closed her eyes in desperation, using up all her willpower to not move when the fire inside her was craving the friction of rubbing her leg against the man standing between her legs.

The drug was burning her alive.

It was such a joke to think that she had hated Everett for "raping" her all her life when she would much rather choose Everett Dunn, the golden bachelor, over these three scam bags any day of the week!

"Wait, I--" The second guy got pulled away again, and then something heavy fell onto the ground. Scarlett tried hard to see what happened, but her mind a mush, and she could barely focus her eyes on anything except to realize that more men went into the room.

"What the hell?! Who the hel--" The guy who was pulled away cursed annoyedly, but his words were cut off by a rough voice, a voice that boiled Scarlett's blood--

"Stay down if you want to see another day," Everett Dunn's iconic rough, low voice warned, not in the direction of Scarlett.

His voice gave Scarlett the energy to open her eyelids once again, and his marble-carved face and icy blue eyes crashed into Scarlett's eyes, making her heart skip a beat.

He stood by her side, like a mountain that could even hold up the sky if it falls.

So she didn't go into the wrong room last life! Scarlett thought bitterly, sour tears brimmed her eyes.

It was he who came to her rescue!

Lost the memory of this night last life, Scarlett hated him for it and thought it was the right punishment when he lost his legs...

"Everett..." Scarlett frowned to focus her eyes, trying to look at him more clearly.

Everett's eyes fell on Scarlett at her calling, and a shred of annoyance flashed through his cold eyes as if he just saw some hateful thing.

His gelid eyes rose a deep fear in her. They were the eyes of a tyrant whose authority is not meant to be challenged!

"AIDS..." Scarlett struggled to sit up but failed.

She had to warn Everett of the danger of these men. But her voice was too soft for any ears in the room.
