“Let’s be honest,” I said, tapping my knuckles once against the table. “If we stall now, we lose the edge we’ve been building for two years.”

The room was quiet, not awkward, just attentive.

Everyone seated around the table had worked hard to get here, and they all knew what was at stake. Screens glowed at the far end, projections frozen on numbers we’d already gone over twice.

Jonah sat to my right, pen resting between his fingers. He didn’t interrupt. He never did unless it mattered.

“We move forward,” I continued. “We restructure the logistics chain, renegotiate the vendor contracts, and absorb the hit short-term. It’s not pretty, but it’s smarter than pulling out and starting from zero six months from now.”

Someone shifted in their chair. Another nodded.

“And if the board pushes back?” one of the senior managers asked.

“Then we push harder,” I replied calmly. “Because fear costs more than action ever will.”

That ended it.
