Lying back, I rolled my chair around, trying to forget what I’d just seen. The different newspapers on the table looked like they were mocking me. Those damned reporters. How could they insinuate that Mason would want that ordinary girl?

I rubbed my palms together, anger building up inside me. Suddenly, I couldn’t take it anymore. Reaching forward, I grabbed all the papers and started tearing them into pieces.

“Dominic!” I yelled and my new assistant rushed into the room with a panicked look on his face. Good, he was afraid of me. If he knew what I’d done to the last one, he wouldn’t stay in this job for the huge sums of money I promise to pay him. “Have you been able to reach her?”

He shook his head. “No, I can’t reach the number. Maybe the phone got destroyed at the auditorium yesterday. I’ll keep trying to find other ways of contacting her.”

“Oh, you annoy me so much. All you do is try, but never get anything right. Get out of my office.”
