“Oh. I’m so sorry,” I replied, but she smiled.

“You don’t have to apologize. Couples occasionally fight; it’s normal. So, how was it? The text?” she asked.

“Why don’t you come over to the living room? Where’s Ryle? Did he step out?” I inquired.

“Yes, he did. I just hope he comes back soon,” my mum said.

“He will. Where else would he go?” I said, and we both giggled.

“Now, please get up. Let’s go to the living room. The kids are waiting,” I urged, pulling her hand.

“Okay, okay… It’s not like I don’t know what you’re about to say. But alright, let’s go share it with them,” she replied.

“Mum!” I exclaimed, knowing she was right. She already knew about my pregnancy before anyone else, so it wasn’t really a surprise to her.
