No one else spoke to the two of us again until we got to Bryce's office which is just there on the floor before where Grandma Briella had their guests on their anniversary.

"We're here," said Braylon and then he opened the door for me. Before entering, I checked Braylon's face again, and when he noticed that, he smiled at me. That smile that I knew was real somehow and not as forced as before when I saw him in the elevator.

"Thank you," I said and then entered Bryce's office.

When I entered, I saw him with his back turned to me while sitting on his swivel chair. I took a deep breath before trying to get his attention but I was just in the middle of breathing when I was overtaken when he suddenly faced me.

"What took you so long?"

I was surprised when he greeted me with that question. “Huh?”

"Tsk," he said and then reached for the wireless telephone at his side. "Call for a meeting now."
