Chapter 9

“When I said let’s go for a walk I meant an actual walk not a drive “ I said to Cain who was opening the front door of his car.

“I know ,hop in” he closed the door leaving me standing outside confused. Then I decided to get into the car.

“Unless you want the paparazzi to jump us , Cain Adams can’t be seen walking the streets.” Cain said with a corky smile starting the engines.

“Totally forgot” I replied with an eye roll.

“So where are we going?” I asked fastening my seatbelt.

“We’re taking a walk” he turned to me with a smile.

I returned the smile biting my lower lips . I tuck my hair behind my ear thinking that this would be a good time to ask Cain why he ghosted me after Italy but then I don’t want to come off as some desperate girl and ruin the moment. He was different now and I should enjoy it while it lasts.

Cain drove slowly around the neighborhood as we were chatting and reminiscing on old times in this neighborhood.

I was getting hungry and my stomach humiliated me with a loud growl.

“We should definitely get something to eat” Cain said laughing.

“Yeah ! Yeah ..we should “ I replied laughing in embarrassment .It reminded me of the first time we laughed together in Italy after a long time.

I didn’t want to raise my hopes up but I was feeling hopeful that maybe I’d get my best friend back. I mean he drove all the way down to this neighborhood to see me , that should be something right?

Cain and I pulled up to a restaurant and I had to step down to get our orders cause mr famous can’t be seen outside.

“I thought you couldn’t make it today cause you were sick “ a familiar voice startled me at the counter whilst I was waiting for them to package our food.

“Rosa ,vera ,I uh…hey “ I let a wide grin play on my face.

They stood akimbo in front of me waiting for an explanation.

“Thought you guys were at the carnival?” I asked collecting the takeouts and turning back to face them.

“Yeah. We were “ Rosa said

“But it got boring so you know” vera added .

“Uhm.okay? I should get going “ I try to move past them and they blocked my way.

I made a small chuckle looking from Rosa to vera

“Guys …what’s going on?” I smiled confused.

“You lied Regina . Just to hang out with me fancy pants over there” vera blurted.

“Yeah! Not cool Regina . We would totally get it if you told us you couldn’t hang with us today because you had a date with Cain…I mean we are all in on this ,no secrets right?” Rosa kept going straight to my face.

“Girl chill out .I didn’t know he was coming and I’m actually sick “ I make a fake cough

“See?” I raise my head to their faces .

“Yeah .right!” Vera said with an eye roll .

I could deal with them later , besides how did they know I was out with Cain when he never stepped down from his car.

I finally walked past them and started walking to Cain’s car . My pace increased when I noticed he was talking to someone….. a girl ,through his window . I got close to see it was no other than Angelina.

Immediately her eyes caught me she rushed over from Cain’s side to meet me .

“What are you doing?” I whispered uncomfortably. What was she thinking talking to Cain and what was she talking to him about?

“Relax Regina “ she said with a smile . Coming closer to me where I was standing inches away from Cain’s car and tangling a string of my hair in her fingers then letting go with an even bigger smile.

I watched her skip away in her miniskirt and she waved at me still smiling. What the fuck is funny?

Without hesitation I jumped into the car trying to calm my emotions.

“Friend of yours?” Cain asked starting the engines to move out .

I hesitated a little while before replying a yes.

“You good?” He asked again with eyes on the road.

“What did she say to you?” I really needed to know that Angelina didn’t blow this for me.

“ I don’t know ….stuff? “ he replied with a smirk turning to look at me .

I pressed my lips together and looked out of the window searching for some fresh air before I burst with curiosity and anger.

Knowing Cain , the more I press about Angelina he was going to cancel this date or whatever, and I really wanted to enjoy this moment of him speaking to me. I didn’t want to do anything that would upset him or make him ghost me again. I just had to swallow this .

We arrived at a river bank . The air was just right and everywhere was so quiet .

We got out of the car and stood for a while taking in the beautiful sight.

“I used to come here a lot as a kid whenever my parents had a fight ” Cain said head straight on ,lost in the water.

“It’s beautiful “ I replied turning to look at him.

We sat on the bonnet of the car eating away our pasta . We didn’t talk much and I didn’t have a problem with it besides I was starving and just wanted to eat. It was also nice to be like this with him , it felt almost unreal.

We had finished our food and laid on our backs staring at the sky becoming dark. The stars would come out any minute from now and it would be so romantic.

Cain got down from the car bonnet and starts taking his hoodie off,

“Do you still not know how to swim?” He flashed me a smile about to pull down his sweat pants.

“What are you doing?” I ask surprised and definitely not looking away.

He pulled his sweats down to reveal a very brief underwear . He’s almost completely naked and I didn’t know my mouth was open and my eyes were lost in his gorgeous body.

“ If you keep staring at me I would throw you into the water” he says coming closer to me.

“Sorry sorry! Not staring” I threw my hands in the air surrendering, looking to the sky even though that’s not what I want to do.

“So …can you swim now?” He asked already inches away from me.

“No “ I replied with a laugh putting my hands back down and over my face in embarrassment.

“Oh my God ! You are like what 30?” He mocked with a laugh that got him a slap to his head.

“Ha ha ….so funny “

“You need to learn how to swim though.” He is now standing in between my legs . His hands by my two sides resting on the bonnet of the car . His face is now at the same level with mine and I know I’m sweating now from the heat burning between us.

“I could teach you but…you have to take these off first” his finger slowly went up my arm and pulled down one hand of my tank top exposing my bare chest ,if he takes that second hand off I’m as good as naked cause I have nothing else under .

I bit my lips at his touch gripping the car bonnet as hard as I could .

My breathing is becoming heavier as he’s leaning towards me . He went down to my ears and gentle pulled my hair behind my ear then kissed behind my ear which made a moan escape from my lips.

He went further and kissed my collar bone . He kept leaving kiss marks that sent electric waves all over my body and he was finally close to my tank top with one hand down.

I wanted him to pull the top down and take me like I’m his but he kept teasing me with kisses.

I grabbed him by the collar and brought him in for a kiss. Allowing my entire body to relieve these moments. And he returned the kiss with an open mouth like he had been waiting for me. There goes my ‘ I have never made a move on anyone in my life ‘ story.

Cain grabbed the back of my hair ,bringing me closer to him as he kissed me , my two legs tightened around his body grinding myself on him as we kissed .

A moan escaped his lips which made me even wet and I wasn’t thinking straight anymore.

I pulled away from his kiss and he looked at me confused. I then pulled my tank top over my head allowing my breasts bounce freely and his eyes widened.

This isn’t new for Cain Adams but it is new for me . I have never shown my self to any man before.
