Chapter 2

Author: Zhezhi
Bianca walked over. Seeing the change in my expression, she pretended to be concerned. “Clara, you look so pale. Are you feeling unwell?”

The dress had been designed by my mother for me. Seeing it on Bianca made me uncomfortable.

Before I could react, she said pitifully:

“Are you blaming me for trying on your wedding dress?”

“I’m sorry. The dress is just too beautiful. I couldn’t help myself.”

Ethan said magnanimously, “Clara is the future Donna of the Moretti family. She’s not petty. It’s just trying on a dress. She won’t mind.”

At that moment, Ethan pulled me into his arms and looked down at me. “My future Donna, am I right?”

I pulled free of Ethan’s embrace and looked at the dress on Bianca. “The wedding dress is indeed very beautiful.”

I no longer felt anything for Ethan.

So his unconditional indulgence of Bianca no longer affected me.

It was only a finished dress. What mattered was getting my mother’s original design sketches.

Ethan stood empty-handed for a moment, staring into my eyes as if trying to find anger or resentment on my face.

Unfortunately for him, he would never see that expression again.

“You’ve changed a lot lately.”

I didn’t respond.

Seeing how generous I was being, Bianca’s expression shifted slightly, but she still pretended to be happy and spun in front of Ethan and me.

She said with a full smile, “Ethan, you’re so good to Clara. If I ever get married one day, I hope I can wear such a beautiful wedding dress too.”

Ethan made a promise: “When you get married, I’ll give you one.”

“Then I’ll go change out of it so Clara can try it on.” Bianca lifted the skirt and walked toward the fitting room.

Just then, a shop assistant came over carrying coffee.

Bianca pretended to trip on the long train of the dress and crashed into the assistant.

The full cup of coffee spilled onto the wedding dress, leaving a large stain.

Bianca fell to the floor. Seeing the dress was dirty, tears of pity welled in her eyes.

“I’m so terrible. I actually ruined Clara’s wedding dress.”

“Clara, I didn’t mean to. The dress is so long. I just accidentally tripped.”

She reached out and pitifully clutched the hem of my pants, seeking my forgiveness.

I only looked down at Bianca. Ethan immediately assumed I was about to make things difficult for her.

He hurried over, shielding her behind him, and frowned at me:

“It was all an accident. Don’t make things hard for her.”

Bianca wiped her tears sadly. “Ethan, the dress got dirty because of me. It’s normal for her to be angry.”

Ethan felt sorry for the pitiful Bianca and gentlemanly helped her up.

He took out a handkerchief and gently wiped her tears, comforting her softly, “Bianca, don’t blame yourself.”

“If it’s dirty, it’s dirty. I’m not so poor that I can’t afford another wedding dress.”

I stood there coldly watching the man who kept saying he loved me show unconditional favor to his childhood sweetheart.

Ethan knew perfectly well the dress had been designed by my mother, yet he treated it like trash.

The coffee shop assistant came forward and sincerely apologized for the accident.

Bianca magnanimously said she forgave him.

Then the bridal shop manager explained the situation to me: “Miss Nolan, cleaning the wedding dress will take one week.”

I nodded coldly. “Understood.”

I no longer planned to get married. What happened to the dress had nothing to do with me.

“This one is dirty. Would you like to try other styles?” the manager asked politely.

I was about to refuse when Bianca already linked her arm through Ethan’s and said enthusiastically, “Let’s help Clara pick a wedding dress together. After all, her wedding is in seven days.”

Ethan didn’t refuse her.

Watching them seriously choosing wedding dresses, I found them ridiculous.

At that moment, my phone received a new message from the wedding planning company.

【Miss Nolan, are you sure you want to cancel the wedding?】

The day before, when I canceled the marriage registration, I had also canceled the wedding venue.

I calmly replied, 【Confirm cancellation.】

Seven days later was supposed to be our wedding day. Seven days later was also the day I would leave.
