Aria’s breath stuck in her throat. Her throat went dry. For a moment, she couldn’t even blink.

Her chest burned as if someone had punched her right in the heart.

She scrolled up, unable to stop herself. The chat wasn’t new; there were dozens of messages before this. Jokes, more talk like dirty talk, voice notes, photos, even late-night texts that sounded too intimate.

They talked like buddies, not normal ones, like fuck buddies.
