Serena's Pov

“Are you okay?” Adrien asked, looking concerned.

“Y…yeah. I am. "Thanks,” I said, trying to also get my head straight.

“Gosh. I never knew that man was as shitty as hell,” Adrien uttered, looking like he really regretted his presence.

“I know, right?”

“But hold on, you knew that he was that kind of man. "Why did you still go ahead to have the meeting with him?” Adrien asked me, his curious eyes peering into mine.

“I… I just had to do it. I didn't know he was still going to make a pass at me. It was unexpected for him to go that far. It's probably because this time, I'm a secretary.”

“Still, you should have said something about it. Well, our deal with him is over. You can focus on other works on your table.”

“Alright.” I responded and left the office, heading back to mine.

While heading back to mine, tears filled my eyes quickly. They stung so much and my nose immediately started running. My heart felt so heavy, sinking into depression.

My day started badly, and there wa

Serena's PovI picked up some files I was to work on as I really needed to get my mind off the scenario that had just played before me. It was really hard to take my mind off it, but the more I bury my head in my work, the easier it is for me to forget what I had just seen.A knock came on my door and I looked in that direction in curiosity. But before I could speak, the door opened. To my surprise, it was Adrien. The atmosphere suddenly felt weird, and it became a chore to look into his eyes.“Good morning.” I greeted him politely without looking into his eyes.“Why did you leave?” He asked me in a low tone. Then I raised my head to look at him.“You had a visitor. "It is expected and respectful of me to leave.” I replied, finding it ridiculous that he asked such a question.“Has it ever been mentioned to you that she is of importance?” At that moment, I shook my head, trying to get his words out of my mind. My insides were screaming and willing to burst out because his words were f

Serena's PovI had placed the flowers on my bedside table and couldn't help but stare at them. At that point, I was stronger than the sleep that could have dragged me into its dream land.Who could really have been the person who sent me these flowers? It was so thoughtful and kind of them, but I didn't like that the person preferred to stay anonymous.A knock distracted me from staring at the flowers, and the door opened. My eyes drifted towards the door and Bella poked her head, smiling.“What is it?” I asked, suspecting she was about to tease me.“Well, I saw the lights on and figured out you weren't asleep. "With the posture you're in, you were probably staring at the flowers,” she concluded, and my eyes drifted away from her in slight embarrassment.“Gosh, Bella. "You should go to bed.” I urged her and connected my palm to my eyes.Bella chuckled.“It's okay to dream about the prince charming, but remember you have work tomorrow.” She reminded me, and I grunted.“Yeah, you're rig

Killian's PovI watched as Samantha slept peacefully like a baby. It was as if she had no worries in this world. Yet, she had put me in so many situations where I had to be worried, especially financially.“Baby,” I called to her softly, tapping her gently on her shoulder as she cuddled with herself. But she didn't move an inch. For a week now, we've not been able to do what couples do, and while it's driving me crazy, I still didn't have any choice than to wait until we could both talk about it.I sat up and got down from the bed, then picked up the glass cup which was on the bedside table, but it was empty.“Gosh.” I uttered under my breath, then got up to my feet.I dragged my feet as I walked towards the door. Although it wasn't expected of me to do that because of Samantha, who was sleeping, if that was what it was going to take for her to wake up, then so be it.I got to the door, opened it and took one more look at Samantha. It was as if nothing disturbed her at all. I shook my

Serena's PovMr. Johnson was one annoying businessman that didn't waste any opportunity he had to make a pass at me. Now, hearing that Killian and I have separated, he's definitely going to have a lot to laugh about. Also, seeing me working as a secretary for Adrien Volkov was only going to make it worse. I can imagine how my skin would crawl at his irritating voice.“Gosh. "I really don't want to do this,” I said, closing my eyes and making an expression that probably seemed like I was going to cry.I opened my eyes and walked up to the railing where I leaned my arms on.The fact that I didn't want to set my eyes on that man or even have any conversation with him was enough for me to back down. But then, I couldn't let the situation dictate me.I had to do this, if it was gradually going to be my way to gradually being capable enough to get back at Samantha.I began to flip open the pages, walking around the rooftop as I tried to assimilate some necessary information.About fifteen m

Serena's PovI left the house and hailed a cab. I wouldn't want to come late today, I ought to be early.“Good morning, ma'am.” The driver greeted me as I got into the car.He wore a fluffy jacket and had the warmest smile on.“Good morning. Please take me to Volkov Enterprises.”“Alright, ma'am.”Winding down the glass window, I stared at the buildings we drove past, and I remembered when I had passed by some certain places with my own car. How funny life can be. One day, you can be happy, and another, you can be sad.The wind blew past my face, making me squint my eyes. My hair was in the air due to the influence of the wind, and I liked it that way. It felt like it was blowing my headaches away. The car slowed down and when I looked forward to finding out the reason, I discovered there was slight traffic congestion, one that should clear soon. Then a car also slowed down beside us. It was a really fancy car, a Porsche 911. The window in the back seat gradually came down, and my ey
