Leon's POV

I stared at the waving students as they walked towards me.

They looked so normal. You wouldn’t even know they were in a crazy cult.

“Hey, you must be Leon,” one of them spoke up, and I nodded, unsure how to proceed.

“Hi, I’m Kai, this is my twin brother Kian, and this is Dale,” he smiled, gesturing to everyone.

He looked so friendly that my hostility made me seem very impolite, so I had to spit out a response of sorts.

“Hi, I’m Leon, nice to meet you,” I smiled, and they all grinned.

“I heard from Chancellor Vara that you had woken up. We’re in charge of showing you around the school and taking you to your dorm,” Kai smiled.

I wanted to ask him a few questions, but I held on first. I needed to play along for now.

“Come on, we’ll give you a tour around,” Kian smiled, speaking up for the first time.

I followed them as I had no choice.

“Ok, so this building you just were in is the Student Needs building. The last three floors are part of the school’s clinic,” he explained, and I looked up instinctively.

The building I had jumped from had four floors. Three of them being a hospital was crazy.

That meant this cult probably harmed their students a lot for them to need that much hospital space.

As if noticing the look on my face, Kian went on to explain:

“The last floor is for Omegas in heat and Alphas in rut. It’s pretty soundproof, so you don’t have to worry about hearing anything. Most Omegas have their heats with their partners in one of those rooms, so it’s pretty comfortable for them,” he explained and smiled.

He looked like he believed what he was saying.

That was the funny thing about this whole thing. They all looked like they believed everything they were saying.

“The second floor before that is for regular clinic stuff. So, like, the regular clinic for injuries,” he explained, and my sensors went up again.

Injuries?

I knew it was probably me just pushing it, but I somehow had this feeling that said injuries were very much inflicted by them.

“And the remaining floors?” I asked.

“Oh, the next floor below is for admin and research, and then this final floor is for the gym,” he explained.

At least they had fitness as a priority.

I guess they did, seeing how everyone here looked like they stepped out of some fitness catalog.

I mean, even the guy that had been an asshole was ripped af.

What were they even training for?

Probably to catch people that try to escape and torture them.

“On the other side of this building we have the cafeteria. It’s a building attached from the left,” he explained as we walked to God knows where.

“Have you had dinner?” Kian asked.

“No,” I responded, and my stomach grumbled.

I was hungry. I didn’t even know how long I had been out.

“Come on, let’s get you something to eat. Dinner is over already, but we can get you some stuff from the vending machines. I don’t think you have anything in your room yet, so you’ll just have to make do. We’ll drop by the mall tomorrow and get you what you need,” he explained.

Mall?

“Did you say mall?” I had to ask.

“Yeah. There’s a werewolf settlement around the school, and they have pretty much anything you want. We should get you everything you need. Also, you should get your card tomorrow. It’ll give you an estimate on how much you can spend.” I raised my brows, even more confused.

“So your card has a sum of money in it that is deposited monthly by your family. For those of us that live in the human realm, the shifter realm has a conversion method, so you don’t have to worry. They’ll convert your money to Wolf bucks. Though the exchange rate is a bitch. Shifter currency is pretty high against the dollar but… the value of one Wolf buck is really high. So you don’t have to worry too much,” he smiled like he hadn’t just spat out a series of crazy words in a sequence I had never heard in my life.

Realm?

Exchange rate?

“Shifter realm?” I asked before I could stop myself.

They all froze and turned to me.

Holy fuck. Had I said something wrong?

Was this their cue to attack me?

“Do you know where we are?” Dale, who had been silent the whole time, spoke up.

“Umm… no?” I answered, even more worried.

They looked at each other.

“Do you know the shifter realm?” Kai asked, and again I shook my head.

They looked even more confused than I did.

“Do you know about werewolves?” Kian asked, and they all looked at me expectantly.

“No,” I answered truthfully.

“Do you know about Alphas, Betas, and Omegas?” Kai asked again, and I had to shake my head.

That was just code word for crazy crazy crazy.

“Fuck, Madam Vara didn’t tell us you were fresh meat. She told us you were still learning the ropes, and we figured you must have been like us when we came. We didn’t know you had no idea about the shifter realm or anything,” Kian said, looking at me with pity.

“I’m sure we must have been creeping you out the whole time, spouting nonsense,” Kai said, and I nodded.

I wasn’t going to deny it when they had spent almost all their time creeping me the fuck out.

“We’re so sorry. Umm… we can give you a rundown of everything. But you’ll probably get a course or something as you’re new to it all. So something like Introduction to Shifting. We have your class schedule. We were supposed to hand it to you.” Dale reached inside the bag he was holding and brought out a printed sheet.

They opened it and went through it.

“Here, you have History of the Shifter World, Shifting 101, Omegas and Their Importance in Society, Omega physiology and Hear care...” they both looked up at me and back at the sheet.

“You’re an Omega?” Kai asked, and the others looked at me.

“Umm, seeing that we’ve just established that I have no idea what those are, I think you should know I have no idea what the answer to that question is,” I responded, and they all looked down at the paper and back at me.

“Why did she assign us to you then? Wouldn’t it be better if she assigned you to other Omegas?” Kian asked, and Kai punched him in the shoulder.

Don’t tell me they had a caste system or hierarchy and Omegas were at the bottom.

“Let me guess, Omegas are bottom of the barrel and you don’t want to touch them, smell them, or even look at them,” I said, giving them a once-over.

Typical cult behavior.

They had to have someone they could punch down to.

“No no no no," Kai said immediately, shaking his head.

“It’s just that we have no idea how to discuss Omega physiology with you. We are just Betas. We are not deserving of you,” he said, and that froze me.

Deserving?

What sort of fucked-up place was this?

“Ok, now you’re freaking him out, Kai,” Kian said and looked toward Dale to fix things.

“That is not what he meant. Kai has this weird Omega-worship kink, so just ignore him. I think this will be easier to understand if we give you a rundown of everything,” Dale said.

“Go ahead then,” I shrugged, and he nodded.

“But first let’s go get something to eat, I’m starving,” I said, and they nodded.

“Sorry, we forgot about that,” Kian spoke up, and we made our way to the cafeteria.

It was large.

As I stared at it, Kai spoke up behind me.

“Most students eat here, though some prefer to cook in their rooms,” he explained, and I nodded.

We picked up some stuff. Kai paid.

“Your card isn’t available yet. So don’t worry. The school will reimburse me,” he grinned, noticing my expression.

“Let’s show you to your room,” Dale gestured toward a different path.

“You can start explaining now,” I spoke up.

I needed to know everything I could about this cult so I could figure out a way to escape.

Whatever this was.

Roan's POVThe gall of this fucking asshole. I got the information pretty quickly as people kept tagging me in an online post that had Alister carrying Leon to his office.Leon had gone AWOL these past few days, and I kept looking for him and asking around his friends, but I couldn't find him.I thought Alister had taken him and kept him in his house, because no matter how hard I searched, I couldn't find him.He wasn't even in his room, and his room was empty. I had to pay someone to secretly search for him, but I still couldn't find him.I even had someone watch Alister's office and house to try to find out stuff about Leon. Alister didn't seem worried one bit about Leon being missing, and while he was someone I deeply hated,I knew that he would at least be worried about Leon, so I guessed that he knew where Leon was and was probably hiding him in his house or something.I also knew Leon would probably let him hide him. Leon, for all his fake bravado, was a pretty adorable, innoc

Alister's POVHe was trembling. Those are the perfect words to describe him. I don't know if it was fear or shock, but he was trembling.Like a lamb in front of a wolf about to be eaten. It was the cutest and also the hottest thing I'd seen from him yet.It made me just want to bite him and eat him all up.And there I was thinking I was going to just tease him gently. He just had to go and look this fucking edible when I was trying to pace myself."Alister... I thought we agreed that you'd stop trying to get back at me," he stuttered out, and I smiled, bringing my finger to his lips and tracing it."I was never trying to get back at you. I'll let you in on a secret," I smiled, leaning down to whisper in his ear."What's the secret?" he asked as I stayed in place, trying to control my very raging boner. This whole situation had been a rollercoaster of emotions and pheromones. And now that I had an idea what was going on, I only wanted him more."I want you. I've wanted you this whole

  • Shifter University: The last Crest Omega    chapter 44

Leon's POVI still don't know how I ended up in this very strange situation, and I was even more confused about how I was now standing here, trying to explain myself to Alister."I... I... what exactly do you want me to explain?" I asked, confused about this whole thing."Tell me why you have been drinking this. Why you're so desperate to hide from me that you take all these to block your scent so I don't recognize you. Why you changed your room. What is so horrible about me that makes you go to these lengths?" he asked, and I took a few steps back, shaking my head."Wait a minute, you got it all wrong. It's not about you. It..." I started to explain but went silent. How do I explain to him without hurting him?"Okay. I... I... will go back home in a year," I said with a sigh. He didn't respond, just kept quiet, listening, so I went on."I don't want to form any kind of bonds when I know I'll be leaving. It won't be fair to you." I looked up at him, and he gave me a questioning look w

Alister’s POVI know I probably just did the most reckless and stupid thing I’ve ever done in my entire life, but I couldn’t help myself.I couldn’t control myself, especially when he was so willing to do all that to himself just to avoid me.It drove me.When I first entered the class, I spotted him with a group of betas, hiding. He thought he was being slick about it, but he really couldn’t hide himself even if he tried.I could spot him in a crowd of a million people. His beauty stood out.I decided to act like I hadn’t spotted him so I could get him at the end of the class and leave him pissed and cute, the way I liked it.But I realized soon into the class that I couldn’t smell him at all.It wasn’t something I had thought of when I first spotted him, but as I taught, I realized that throughout the entire class I couldn’t catch his scent, not even for a while.I could smell all the betas around him, but I couldn’t smell him.So I decided to release my pheromones and target them o

  • Shifter University: The last Crest Omega    Chapter 42

Leon's POVThat fuck faced, sexy looking asshole professor. Who the fuck did he think he was?Just because he’s a professor, he thinks he can do whatever he wants and just get away with it? Not to mention, the motherfucker was not just trying to bait me, but he was using this as a show of strength to show me just how powerless I really was.I really didn’t have any way to avoid going to the class. The annoying thing about this whole thing was that he sent the email so late that I was already asleep, and I just found out about it this morning. It was pretty slick and honestly so fucking evil of him. Whatever contingency plan I may have thought of if this had come earlier was still not a thought for now.It was too sudden for me to figure out what to do.I couldn’t miss this because it was an important class. I couldn’t take it online since there were no provisions yet for students to do this particular coursework online. It had to be in person. The motherfucker really planned this out

  • Shifter University: The last Crest Omega    Chapter 41

Alister’s POVHe’s been avoiding me. Successfully, might I say. I found it rather adorable how much he was willing to go out of his way just to make sure he never saw me again. He switched his classes online without my knowledge. He didn’t go through me, but rather my assistant, who cluelessly approved it.I had never made mention of it being an option, and most people didn’t even know it was an option. It was a new feature the school had rolled out just recently in an effort to globalize the institution and keep up with current trends. For most people in the shifter realm, the in person experience was what they were after.People went to school not just to get educated, but with hopes that they’d find their mates. Not to mention, you still had to attend in person classes for at least one week a month. So in the end, it made no sense realistically why anyone would want to join the online class option, so I hadn’t thought he’d take it. But from his actions, I’ve realized I took him for
