My hand came over my mouth, my eyes wide as Keanne slowly stood up, dropping the man's decapitated head right next to the body. He slowly turned to me, his eyes taking me in. What should have been a simple breakfast had somehow turned into a blood bath.

He took a step forward but hesitated, his eyes scanning me. Without a word, I covered the distance instead, my hands wrapping around him, my eyes closing.

"Let's go. Let me take you home."

He swallowed but said nothing. The crowd was gone now, maintaining a safe distance and watching the scene unfold. Keanne has killed a man. I knew what that spelt. A room for Alpha Blake to attack. I swallowed hard, then slowly pulled him to me.

"Did you just kill a man?"

My breath froze, and I turned to Alpha Blake. He was with Celyn, who was just as shocked, her eyes wide.

I blinked, then went in front of Keanne. "He did it for me. I wouldn't mind doing it for him, too."
