The car smelled like her.

Cedar and clean soap and the faint trace of what we had done still clung to the upholstery. I sat in the passenger seat with my hands folded in my lap, staring straight ahead through the windshield while the city slid past in ordinary daylight. Sarah drove the same way she had on the way to the salon: steady, quiet, one hand on the wheel. She did not turn on the radio.

My body still throbbed. Between my legs I felt the residual stretch, the slick heat that had nothing to do with the dress I now wore again. Every shift of my hips reminded me of the mirror, the cool glass against my breasts, the thick length of her pushing into me while her hand covered my mouth. The memory arrived in sharp, unwanted flashes. I pressed my thighs together and tried to make it stop.

Guilt settled over everything like a second skin.

I had cheated on Mark. Not with a stranger in a bar. Not with some half-forgotten ex. With his sister. In a bridal fitting room, two months before our wedding, while the consultant waited outside to discuss veils and alterations. The knowledge sat heavy and cold in my chest. I could still taste her on my tongue. I could still feel the exact shape of her cock inside me.

Sarah glanced over once at a red light. Her expression gave nothing away.

“You’re quiet,” she said.

I kept my eyes on the road. “I don’t know what to say.”

“You don’t have to say anything.” A pause. “I shouldn’t have pushed that far. Not there. Not like that. I’m sorry.”

The apology landed strangely. Part of me wanted to accept it and close the door on the entire afternoon. Another part remembered the way I had pushed back onto her instead of telling her to stop. The way I had come twice with her hand over my mouth. The way my fingers had traced the outline of her cock through her jeans before I ever saw it.

“I didn’t stop you,” I said.

“I know.”

Silence returned. The light changed. Sarah pulled forward. I watched the familiar streets of my neighborhood appear and felt no relief at the nearness of home. Mark would be back in less than two hours. He would ask about the dresses. He would smile and kiss me and ask which one I liked best. I would have to answer with a steady voice while his sister’s cum was still a ghost sensation between my legs.

Sarah parked in front of my building but left the engine running. She turned in her seat to face me fully.

“I meant what I said about texting. If you need to talk. Or if you need to pretend this never happened. Either is fine.”

I nodded once. My throat felt tight. “I should go in.”

“Okay.”

I opened the door. The ordinary afternoon air felt too bright. Before I could step out, Sarah’s hand touched my wrist, light and brief.

“For what it’s worth,” she said, “I don’t regret the part where you looked at me like that in the mirror. Only the timing.”

I pulled my wrist free and got out without answering. The car door closed with a soft, final sound. I did not watch her drive away. I walked upstairs, unlocked the apartment, and stood in the middle of the living room for a long time without taking off my shoes.

The place still smelled like the coffee Mark had made that morning. His jacket hung on the back of a chair. A half-read book sat on the coffee table with a receipt for the dry cleaner stuck inside as a bookmark. Everything looked exactly the same as it had when I left for the salon. Nothing in the room knew what I had done.

I went into the bathroom and locked the door. The mirror above the sink showed a woman with slightly smudged mascara and a flush that had not fully faded. I stripped out of the dress and the bra and the panties. Faint red marks from Sarah’s fingers still showed on my hips. Between my legs I was swollen and tender. I turned on the shower as hot as I could stand it and stood under the water until my skin turned pink, scrubbing until the scent of her was gone. It did not help. The memory stayed.

When I stepped out I wrapped myself in a towel and sat on the closed lid of the toilet with my face in my hands. The guilt was no longer cold. It burned. I had let Mark’s sister fuck me in a public fitting room. I had come on her cock while wearing the dress I might walk down the aisle in. I had touched her, stroked her, opened for her without once saying the word stop.

And the worst part was the quiet, insistent pulse of want that still lived under the shame. Even now, clean and alone, my body remembered the stretch and the pressure and the way she had held me in place while she moved.

My phone buzzed on the bathroom counter.

I picked it up with damp fingers.

**Sarah:** I know you’re probably spiraling. I’m not going to pretend I don’t want to see you again. Come over tonight. Girls’ night. No expectations. Just talk if you want. Or don’t talk. Door’s open either way.

I stared at the message until the screen dimmed. Then I typed three different replies and deleted each one. The fourth attempt stayed.

**Me:** What time?

The answer came almost immediately.

**Sarah:** Eight. I’ll cook something. Nothing fancy.

I set the phone down and looked at myself in the mirror again. The woman looking back still wore the face of someone who was supposed to marry Mark in eight weeks. She also wore the faint, private knowledge of what his sister’s cock felt like buried inside her.

I dried my hair. I put on clean clothes. When Mark came home at six I met him at the door with a smile that felt like it belonged to someone else. He kissed me, asked about the appointment, and listened while I described two of the dresses in careful, empty detail. I did not mention the third. I did not mention the fitting room or the mirror or the way his sister had tasted when she kissed me afterward.

We ate takeout on the couch. He talked about a problem at work. I nodded in the right places. At seven-thirty I told him Sarah had invited me over for a low-key girls’ night to debrief the dress disaster, and that I might be late. Mark smiled, genuinely pleased.

“That’s good,” he said. “You two should get closer. She’s family soon.”

The words sat in my stomach like stones.

I changed into jeans and a soft sweater. I left my engagement ring on the bathroom counter by accident, then went back and put it on again. The diamond caught the light as I locked the apartment door behind me. Outside, the evening air had cooled. I walked to the corner and ordered a car. The entire ride I kept my hands flat on my thighs and tried not to think about what I was doing.

Sarah’s building was quieter than mine. The loft was on the fourth floor. She opened the door before I could knock, as if she had been waiting just on the other side. She had changed into a dark t-shirt and soft pants. Her hair was down. The scent of garlic and something roasting drifted out behind her.

“You came,” she said.

“I texted that I would.”

“People text a lot of things they don’t follow through on.” She stepped aside. “Come in.”

The loft was open and sparsely furnished. Large windows looked out over the street. A low couch faced a brick wall. The kitchen was small but clean. Two plates already sat on the counter. Sarah closed the door and locked it. The sound of the bolt was quiet and ordinary and somehow final.

“I made pasta,” she said. “And there’s wine if you want it. Or water. Or nothing.”

I set my bag down. My hands felt useless. “I don’t know why I’m here.”

Sarah leaned against the counter and studied me. “Yes you do.”

The honesty in her voice left no room for the polite version. I looked at the floor, then at the windows, then finally at her.

“I spent the whole afternoon and evening telling myself I was going to stay home and be the person Mark thinks he is marrying. Then I got in a car and came here instead.”

Sarah nodded once. She did not look triumphant. She looked careful.

“We can eat,” she said. “We can talk about dresses and weather and my brother’s excellent taste in partners. Or we can stop pretending the fitting room was a one-time mistake you’re already over. Your choice. I’ll follow it.”

The loft was quiet except for the low tick of a cooling oven. I could still feel the phantom stretch of her inside me. I could still hear Mark’s voice saying *she’s family soon*. The two realities refused to occupy the same space.

I crossed the room. Sarah stayed where she was, watching. When I stopped in front of her I did not speak. I simply reached up and touched the side of her neck, feeling the warm pulse under my fingertips. Her eyes darkened. She did not move.

“I keep waiting for the guilt to be stronger than this,” I said.

Sarah’s hand rose and covered mine, holding it against her skin.

“It might be tomorrow,” she answered. “It isn’t right now.”

She kissed me.

It was slower than the first time in the fitting room, but no less certain. I opened for it. The taste of her erased the careful hours I had spent trying to scrub the afternoon away. My hands slid into her hair. Sarah’s settled on my waist and pulled me in until there was no space left between us. The engagement ring on my finger pressed against the back of her neck. Neither of us mentioned it.

When we finally broke apart I was breathing harder. Sarah rested her forehead against mine.

“Still want dinner?” she asked, voice low.

“No.”

“Good.”

She took my hand and led me toward the short hallway that opened onto the bedroom. I followed. The guilt came with me, a cold companion that refused to leave. But the want was warmer, and louder, and already drowning it out.

Behind us the pasta sat cooling on the counter, untouched.

The thunderstorm returned on the day I had him take his shirt off.It arrived in the late afternoon, turning the sky the color of wet slate and driving the last of the staff out of the building the moment the final bell rang. I watched the parking lot empty from my window, counting the cars as they left until only two remained: mine and his. The rain came down hard enough to blur the glass. I left the overhead lights off and switched on the old brass desk lamp I usually kept for show. Its warm circle of light made the rest of the office feel farther away than it was.He knocked once, then opened the door when I called. Water darkened the shoulders of his jacket. He carried no folders this time, no props. Just himself and a careful expression that tried to look neutral and failed.“You’re soaked,” I said.“I forgot an umbrella. It started while I was still in the classroom.”I nodded toward the coat rack near the door. “Hang it up. Then come here.”He did as he was told, movements prec

Sarah’s fingers slid lower when I pressed her hand. She found me still wet and open, and the quiet sound she made against my shoulder was almost a laugh.“Still?”“Yeah.”She turned onto her side, propped on one elbow, and watched my face while two fingers pushed inside. Slow. Testing. I exhaled through my nose and let my knees fall open wider.“You’re sore.”“I know.”“Want me to stop?”I shook my head once. Sarah kissed the corner of my mouth, then reached over to the nightstand. A drawer opened. Plastic clicked. She came back with a slim vibrator, the kind that fit in one hand. She didn’t ask again. She simply switched it on. The low buzz filled the quiet room. She settled between my legs, cock already hard again, and rubbed the head through my folds until I lifted to meet it. When she pushed in this time the stretch burned sharper than before. I gritted my teeth. Sarah paused halfway.“Breathe.”“I’m trying.”She waited, one hand steady on my hip, the other resting the vibrator ag

Sarah’s bedroom was dim and uncluttered. A wide bed with dark sheets. One low lamp casting a warm circle across the floor. She led me inside and closed the door with her foot. The click of the latch sounded ordinary. Everything about the moment felt anything but.She kissed me again before I could speak. This time there was no careful testing. Her mouth was open and sure, tongue sliding against mine, one hand already under the back of my sweater. The heat of her palm on my bare skin made my breath catch. I answered the kiss with equal force, fingers curling into the soft fabric of her t-shirt.Sarah walked me backward until the backs of my knees hit the mattress. Instead of letting me fall she bent, hooked an arm under my thighs, and lifted me clean off the floor. The strength of it surprised a short sound out of me. She was solid and steady, carrying my weight without strain. Two steps and she set me down on the bed, following immediately so her body covered mine. The mattress dipped

The curtain whispered shut behind Elise, leaving only the low hum of the salon’s air conditioning and the soft glow of the vanity bulbs.Sarah didn’t move away. She stayed close enough that the heat of her body reached me through the open back of the dress. Her fingers still rested at the base of the zipper, two cool points against my skin.“You’re shaking,” she said.I wasn’t cold. The fitting room was warm, almost too warm, the air thick with the scent of new fabric and the cedar note that clung to her sweater. I watched our reflections in the three-way mirror—my bare shoulders, the ivory satin pooled at my hips, Sarah standing behind me in black, her expression unreadable. She drew the zipper the rest of the way down. The dress loosened and slid. I caught it against my chest, holding the fabric in place. Sarah’s hands settled on my waist, steadying the fall of the skirt until it dropped to the carpet in a soft heap. I stood in only a strapless bra and simple panties, the mirror sho

I was two months from walking down the aisle and my friends cancelled on the dress appointment with less than three hours’ notice. One had a work emergency. One had a sick kid. The third simply stopped answering her phone. I sat on the edge of the bed in the apartment I already shared with Mark, staring at the confirmation email from the bridal salon, and felt the familiar tight knot of disappointment settle under my ribs. Mark was at the office. When I called him he sounded genuinely sorry, then hesitated.“My sister’s free today,” he said. “Sarah. She’s been asking if she can help with anything. I can text her.”Sarah.I had met her only four times since Mark and I got engaged. She was thirty, two years older than him, quiet in groups, with a dry sense of humour that appeared only when she felt safe. Mark had once mentioned, almost casually, that she was bisexual and that it had caused a few tense Christmases when they were younger. I had filed the information away and never thought
