FAZER LOGINThe mansion was much quieter than Lilith had expected. At first, Lilith thought the mansion would be filled with servants or guards. But no, there were none. Lilith felt that there were no signs of life other than the soft echo of her footsteps and Lucas's on the luxurious marble floor. The mansion's opulence gave Lilith a cold feeling.
It didn't feel empty. It felt watchful. A large, luxurious chandelier hung above the foyer, casting a golden light over the polished stone and tall walls covered in dark wood paneling. Paintings also adorned the circular staircase. Lucas walked ahead of her.
“Your room is upstairs,” he said.
“Your room?” she asked carefully.
A faint glance over his shoulder. “Not tonight.”
Lilith's heart pounded. She didn't know whether to feel relieved or offended. Soon after, they arrived on the second floor of the mansion. They passed a long, dimly lit corridor with closed doors on both sides. Lucas stopped in front of one of them and opened it.
It was a bedroom larger than any room she had ever had in her old house. Lilith looked curiously into the room, which was even equipped with warm, thick blankets. There were tall windows with thick curtains.
Even the balcony of the room directly faced the hills where the mansion was located right in the middle of them.
“This will be yours,” Lucas said as he walked deeper into the room.
“Will?” Lilith whispered, confused, as she followed him into the room.
Lucas turned and their eyes met. “You are not a prisoner here, Lilith.”
She almost laughed. “The gate says otherwise for me so.”
“They are just for protection.”
“Protection? From what?” Lilith chuckled, even more confused.
Lucas didn't answer immediately, but Lilith could clearly see that he was trying to find the right words to answer her question. “From the outside world.”
The way Lucas said it made Lilith even more curious about a world that was more dangerous than Lucas himself was to Lilith now. Lilith didn't say anything else at first and began to look around the room. The air surrounding the room felt different and changed several times for Lilith.
Meanwhile, Lucas began to change his position near the open door. Lucas's gaze was straight ahead, directly at Lilith. Not touching. Not even approaching her. Just observing her.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” asked Lilith as she turned around.
“Like what?”
“Like you're waiting.” Lilith whispered hesitantly.
Lucas' gaze darkened and sharpened. “I am waiting.”
“Waiting for what?”
“Waiting for you to stop trembling with fear like that.”
Lilith gasped, completely unaware that she was trembling.
“You don't need to be afraid like that tonight, Lilith,” Lucas said again.
“Tonight?” Lilith repeated Lucas' words.
A faint smile appeared on Lucas' lips. “I already told you, didn't I? I prefer you to be conscious, Lilith.”
Lilith's breath caught again as Lucas began to walk towards her. His steps felt slow, but also intense. It was as if every movement and every moment of silence from Lucas was deliberately intended to intimidate her. Lilith forced herself not to step back.
Until Lucas finally stopped just a few inches away from her. Close enough that Lilith could feel that strange sensation again, like standing near marble in winter. His hand lifted slowly as her body felt tense.
But instead of grabbing her, Lucas only adjusted Lilith's dress strap that had slipped slightly from her shoulder. Lucas' fingers only touched her skin briefly. Even through that brief touch, it seemed to send a vibration down Lilith's spine. His jaw tightened.
For a second, Lucas's pupils seemed to narrow unnaturally. He immediately took a deep breath. A very deep breath. Then Lucas quickly stepped back. As if he was holding something so hard inside himself.
“You should rest now,” he said, his voice lower than before.
“What about you? Where are you going to sleep?”
“I have my own room, and I don't sleep much.”
Lucas's answer made Lilith feel even more anxious. So much so that Lilith thought about locking the door to prevent Lucas from sneaking in while she was fast asleep later. Lucas then walked towards the door. But before Lucas actually left, he stopped, then turned his head slightly to look back.
“Do not wander in this mansion alone tonight.”
Her stomach tightened. “Why?” she whispered.
“There are parts of this mansion that you are not ready to see yet.”
Lucas walked back and slowly closed the door. He left Lilith standing where she was, alone in the bedroom that was so spacious for just her. The silence returned, but this time it made her feel tense. Lilith sighed as she rubbed her warm forehead.
A moment later, Lilith turned and walked to the mirror across the room and stared at her reflection there. She was still the same girl. The same face, and the same eyes. Only the open dress covering her body made her feel different. But there was something Lilith couldn't avoid tonight.
Lilith decided to step into the bathroom to clean herself. Outside the door, Lucas stood in the dark corridor. His jaw tightened. Lucas pressed his palm against the wall with force.
“It's not time yet,” Lucas whispered to himself. Before quickly walking away from the corridor.
“That’s not romantic,” she snapped. “That’s fucking insane!”Lucas lowered his gaze slightly and no longer clenched his jaw as before. “Maybe yes, maybe no.”Lilith laughed, but it wasn’t amusement. It was pure fear. “You took my picture when I was a child. When I was a teenager, even at my father's funeral." Her voice cracked.“You weren't there...” Her voice was a little shaky this time.Lucas's eyes darkened. “I was there.”“No,” she whispered. “No, you weren't. I would remember if I had ever met you before.”“You don't remember much about me, Lilith.” Something in the way he said it made her chest feel tighter. She shook her head hard. “Stop it.”“You came back to me,” Lucas continued in a low voice. “Again and again and again.”“Stop it.” Lilith kept shaking her head, refusing to listen.“You always do it, Lilith.” Lucas walked toward Lilith, who was backing away.“JUST STOP IT!!” Lilith's voice echoed sharply throughout the room filled with antiques. Even the old wall clock tick
After returning to his room, Lucas brought a tray of delicious food and drinks. This made Lilith so full that she fell back asleep. This made Lilith wonder if the food and drinks Lucas brought might have contained sleeping pills, considering how soundly Lilith had fallen asleep.Lilith woke up to a sound as day began to turn into night. The sound wasn't very loud, but its echo throughout the mansion immediately woke Lilith up, her eyes wide open. She felt the darkness and gloom of the room again. The curtains were also tightly closed, blocking even the moonlight from entering the room.TringThe sound was heard again. A faint metallic echo, like a heavy object moving slowly somewhere in the mansion. Lilith's heart was pounding, wondering what that sound was.“Lucas?” Lilith called softly. Her voice sounded like a whisper. But of course, there was no answer to her call. Lilith changed her position from lying down to sitting up against the headboard. Her right hand clutched the thick, s
Lilith woke up with a start in the silence of the unfamiliar room she was staying in for the first time. The silence Lilith felt when she woke up also felt heavy. For a moment, Lilith couldn't remember where she was. The ceiling above her was too high. The blanket was too soft. The room was too cold. Then her memory returned. The auction. The car. And Lucas.Lilith immediately sat up straight. Sunlight filtered through the tall curtains, pale and distant. The mansion felt different in the morning, less threatening, but not even warmer. Lilith got out of bed and walked to the balcony. The gate below was still tightly closed. But the black Rolls Royce was gone.Lilith's heart was beating fast. Lucas had left without telling her or waking her up. Lilith then quickly walked to the bedroom door and found that it was also unlocked. Last night, when she was too tired, Lilith had forgotten to lock it, and this morning, Lucas had not locked it either.Lilith opened the bedroom door and peeked

The city lights looked blurry behind the car's tinted windows. Lilith sat in the back seat of the black Rolls Royce, her hands folded tightly in her lap. Her palms felt cold, or maybe it was just her own feelings floating away.Lucas sat next to her. Right next to her and close enough to her arm. Close enough that Lilith could feel the heat radiating from her own body. The driver didn't say a word. A glass partition was installed right in the middle between the driver and the passenger seat. The outside world felt so distant and unreal.Lilith swallowed hard again. “Where are you taking me?”Lucas didn't answer right away or look at her. He just stared at the passing road with an expression that was hard to read. “Home.”That word made Lilith's chest feel tight. She didn't have a home anymore. The place she had always considered home had betrayed her. “Your home,” Lilith corrected softly with a sigh.A faint smirk curved his lips. “For now, yes...”Silence enveloped them again in the
The light from the lamp shone directly on her face. Lilith could barely see the faces in front of her. All she could see were silhouettes, men wearing tailored suits, gold watches glinting under the chandelier, glasses filled with red and brown drinks accompanied by ice that reflected light onto the stage, among the hands of men who looked at her hungrily. The music that had been playing had just stopped. And that was the worst part! When the music was playing, at least Lilith could pretend to be a regular performer. Just a girl wearing a sparkling evening gown who was forced to smile in front of all the men in the room. But now, there was only silence that suffocated her.“The opening bid for our virgin girl tonight is ten billion!” The auctioneer shouted, setting the starting price for Lilith that night.A ripple of low whistles and amused chuckles spread across the VIP lounge of The Masque Club. Lilith's fingers trembled at her sides. She tried hard to hide the fear she felt behind
