Alina

I stared at him in complete disbelief, heart racing, voice trembling as I whispered, “Am I dreaming?”

Damian didn’t even hesitate. He pulled me closer until I could feel the warmth of his breath against my ear. “No,” he murmured, voice low and certain.

The shiver that ran down my spine was almost enough to make my knees buckle. Goddess. How could he always do this to me? How could he always make everything feel like magic, like fate, like home?

He didn’t have a shy bone in his body. Not one. I, on the other hand, felt heat crawling up my neck as I realized just how many people were watching us. But instead of shrinking away, I leaned in closer, drawn to him like the moon to the tides.

“I accept your apology,” Damian said to the elders, his voice smooth and commanding. “But from this day forward, Alina is to be treated with the same respect you’ve always given me. No less.”

The elders all bowed in acknowledgment, murmuring praises of my courage. One of them stepped forward, an ol

AlinaThe butterflies in my stomach were having a full parade, kicking and twirling and marching up my throat. Their wings tickled the inside of my chest, making it nearly impossible to draw in a steady breath. I pressed my trembling hands to my stomach, willing the nerves to settle, but they wouldn’t. My heart was a relentless drum, beating faster than any rhythm the wedding orchestra could play. This was it.The moment I’d dreamed of—no, the moment I never truly believed I would get.Sunlight filtered through the stained-glass windows of the grand ceremonial hall, casting slivers of color across the marble floors. The scent of roses—white, red, and blush—drifted through the air, fresh and heady, wrapping around me like a promise. The golden embroidery on the altar shimmered in the light, catching the flicker of candles placed carefully in ceremonial holders.I felt Damian beside me and turned, and for a second, everything else faded.Gods, he looked devastating.Dressed in a perfect

AlinaI jolted up with a scream, my breath rasping against the back of my throat like I’d just escaped drowning. My heart thumped wildly, pounding in my chest like a frightened bird. Sweat clung to my forehead, and for a moment, I didn’t even realize I had been crying until I felt the wet streaks on my cheeks.I pressed a shaky hand to my chest, whispering to myself, It was just a dream. Just a dream…But the image was still vivid—too vivid. Blood. My own blood. A knife plunged into my stomach. My hands trembling as I tried to stop it. The cold, distant stare of the attacker. I couldn’t see the face. But I remembered the pain. The helplessness. The feeling of everything slipping away.“No,” I whispered to myself. “It’s not real. It’s not real.”I swung my legs off the bed and touched the cold marble floor. I tried grounding myself in reality—this room, this life, Damian… happiness. Focus on what’s real, Alina. The past few days had been overwhelming, but Damian had been by my side. De

AlinaDamian stared at me with those deep, unwavering eyes of his—the kind that made me feel exposed and safe all at once. His brow furrowed slightly, and his voice was steady, low, and filled with a quiet concern that curled around my nerves like a comforting blanket.“What secret could you possibly have?” he asked gently. The weight of that single question pressed against my chest, making it harder to breathe. My fingers curled in on themselves, gripping the soft fabric of my dress as if it could anchor me in the storm swirling inside. My gaze fell away from his, skimming the floor, the wall, anywhere but his face.I took a step back, slow and deliberate, and made my way to the edge of the bed. My fingertips grazed the old quilt, the familiar texture grounding me for just a moment before I gave it a light tap and turned to him.“Come sit,” I said softly. My voice came out smaller than I wanted it to, and my throat burned from the strain of holding everything in. “Please. Before I ch

AlinaShe stood in my room like she had every right to be there—chin lifted, smugness painted across her face like war paint. I could feel my blood heating, simmering just beneath the surface. The audacity of her presence, her tone, the venom lacing her words—it made my skin crawl.I folded my arms tightly across my chest and glared at her, my jaw tightening. “You’re delusional if you think I’m hiding something,” I said coldly, barely keeping my temper in check. “And you need to leave. Now. You’ve overstayed whatever miserable welcome you imagined you had.”Her laughter cut through the air like broken glass. Sharp. Insulting. “Delusional? Maybe. But I’m not the one pretending to be some holy savior just because the Alpha marked me,” she sneered. “You walk around this place like you’re untouchable, but let me tell you something, sweetheart—you’re not. You’re just another girl playing queen, wearing a crown you didn’t earn.”My hands curled into fists at my sides, nails biting into my p

AlinaI was still breathless from the night before. My lips were tingling from Damian’s kisses, and my mind kept replaying the way he’d held me, like I was something precious—something irreplaceable. I wasn’t used to being wanted like that. It made me feel warm inside, almost... safe.We had barely stepped out of the diner, fingers brushing and hearts still beating too fast, when we saw him.Lucas.He was leaning against the railing near the entrance to the house, arms crossed, his grin as irritating as ever. I instinctively tried to step away from Damian, but he didn’t let me. He kept me close, his hand firmly planted on the small of my back.“You two sure took your sweet time,” Lucas teased, eyes gleaming. “Had enough of rolling around in the hay yet? Or should I have waited another hour?”My mouth fell open. “Lucas!” I gasped, feeling the blood rush to my cheeks. “Why would you say that in front of everyone?”“Because it’s true?” he said innocently, then burst into laughter. “Come

AlinaI wasn’t sure about this. At all.Standing in the center of the witch’s chambers, I shifted from one foot to the other like a schoolgirl about to be scolded. The room was dim, lit only by a collection of tall, flickering candles that bathed everything in amber. Their flames danced like they were whispering secrets, and for the first time in a long time, I wasn’t eager to listen.I had spent my whole life being told what to do. What to wear, when to speak, how to act, who to be. But this—this was different. The previous Alpha had shown me nothing but kindness, had helped me realize I wasn’t just a burden, wasn’t just an omega in the wrong place. Still, as much as I longed to know myself—to be myself—what if this didn’t go the way I wanted? What if I disappointed everyone again?“Sit,” the witch said gently, gesturing toward the low bed in the center of the room. Her voice was patient, unlike anything I had expected. I thought witches were supposed to be cryptic and smug, but she
